Info about the car:
The Ferrari 126C2 was the car with which Ferrari raced in the 1982 Formula One season. The team's first attempt at a turbo engined Formula 1 car, it was designed by Mauro Forghieri and Harvey Postlethwaite and used between the 1981 and 1984 seasons.

The carbon fiber reinforcements in the frame (present here) were added after the Villeneuve accident; in the video of the Zolder accident it is clearly seen that the chassis does not have them

Gilles drove #059 in Imola . He perished in #058 at Zolder . He never drove this car .

Not acar Villeneuve saw in his life time . This has the front suspension that introduced after Belgium GP at Zolder. Also the wings of the cars were never black they were polished metal .the black wing made their Ferrari debut on the 126 C3 the following year.

I wonder if they use the appropriate fuels for the technology back then since tuning plays a huge role or is the car retuned with today's fuel since the advancement is such a big change

Questa non è la versione usata da Gilles, non aveva questo tipo di sospensione all'anteriore tipo pull rod ma a bilanciere ne tanto meno gli alettoni in fibra di carbonio e il musetto non ha una forma corretta.

Di sicuro non è mai stata guidata da Gilles. Il rinforzo in fibra di carbonio all’abitacolo, le sospensioni anteriori e l’alettone lo dimostrano. Sembra piuttosto una C2B riadattata

Os carros daquela época eram carros muito mais atraentes e cheios de presença. Gilles Villeneuve era um piloto doido e não tinha a admiração dos pilotos campeões.🤗😀

Realmente, ele não era admirado por nenhum campeão. Tinha que ser no mínimo tricampeão para lhe dar valor como Ayrton Senna da Silva, o tinha em grande monta.

@@sergiobellotto285 questo modello è una 126 c3 dell 1983 le 126 c2 dopo gli incidenti prima di Gilles poi di Pironi vennero distrutte a fine stagione su ordine di Enzo Ferrari.

Villeneuve never raced the car in this spec ............the updated front suspension was introduced after the Belgium gp .........................before then the car had rocker arm suspension . This car has pullrod.

exactly. This is in detail a C2b with bodywork reworked.the C2b ran the first part of 1983 championship

ok to clarify: this is chassis 061 . Ex car of Tambay and Andretti and is the only remaining chassis from that year. Gilles however did test a car with the updated suspension at the end of April 1982 at Fiorano. That was Chassis 056.

hai ragione, è stata la prima cosa che ho notato. La vettura ha le sospensioni anteriori di tipo pull rod che vennero introdotte a metà stagione. Villeneuve ha corso solo con vetture dotate di sospensioni a bilancere

Esatto, anche se ho visto una foto dei test pre-Imola e Gilles stava testando proprio quel tipo di sospensione aggiornata!!! Però i rinforzi sul telaio purtroppo sono stati introdotti dopo la sua morte (Ma sinceramente non credo che se fossero state presenti sulla vettura di Zolger, Gilles si sarebbe salvato)

You are right, if you look where the front arms come out of the body, there is a big difference to what Gilles drove in 1982. The car was not driven by Gilles Villeneuve, because it is the updated model for the year 1982, which lacks one aerodynamic part around the front arms, which is removed. Also, the numbers on the car were a little bit bigger in 1982 then the number put on this car. The rear wing was made of the polished metal and was not black. It's the Tambay/Andretti car I think.

Wasn't the best???? In terms of speed it was the fastest through 1982 season and it would have easily won the WC with Pironi if not for Hockenheim crash. And it still won the 1982 Constructor's WC.

The 126C2 was easily the best car in 1982. Ferrari missed two races altogether and ran six races with only one car. They started the season with a completely different driver lineup from what they finished. So yes, it was comfortably the best car and they only suffered four retirements for the whole season. They started 21 out of a possible 32 races and were disqualified in one (Long Beach). They were within a fraction of the speed of the Renaults but much more reliable.
