I'll be taking this trip with my wife and son this July, except we're taking the Argentia ferry - 17 hours of travel on that one, and less driving to St. John's for us to visit family. Thanks for this video - I was looking to see what I could expect once I got to North Sydney. I assume there's a toll booth kind-of-thing, and if you get there early, you park off to the side somewhere?
fun times. My wife and I are taking this trip late July and are looking so forward to it. My wife was born in Newfoundland and has not taken the Ferry home in some time. We are driving from Ontario to North Sydney to catch the ship and we heard we need 2 photo ID's each. I have drivers license but my wife does not, she never learned to drive. She is 70 yrs old now and doesn't feel the need to learn now. We tried to get her a photo ID at the Service Canada here in Ontario but apparently she needs more ID to get the ID she needs? I know! Seems her photo ID health card isn't good enough to get a photo ID car? ok,, Calling the port she was told she needs two ID's and that a expired passport with picture is good enough? I am concerned after driving for 4 days they won't allow her on board? What are your thoughts on the expired Passport? or any other thoughts you might share.
