as a cabinet installer this saw looks like absolute gold. I have the track saw already and that was a game changer. I have been in the cabinet business for almost 30 years now and loving the tools I am seeing form festal these days they make things so much easier and cleaner. I will be buying this saw .
Festool is the tesla of power tools. I especially like their domino tool. 5" sander is also outstanding. Festool dust collection is second to none. Great engineering.
to this day i still can't picture myself use a tablesaw without a powered outlet nearby. I really hoped they have a corded version of this, seem quite handy
This is a great complimentary tool that fits into the festool system perfectly. It can’t replace your main tablesaw but it brings enough to the table that it’s worthwhile owning. The batteries last more than long enough and it’s just a really useful piece of gear
Still don't understand why they made this a battery powered saw looks like a great bit of kit for cabinetry installs and finishing. I would probably of bought it already if they made it corded.
Definitely a flooring guys wet dream. A little over the top for my uses. I prefer the wider rip capacity of other site saws just in case. The sled is also a no-go for me personally as I've had situations where I needed to move the fence to the other side of the blade in order to bevel plinth blocks that I couldn't do in one pass with maxed out blade height. I don't think their batteries are big enough either. I've used my DeWalt cordless exclusively for ~2 years now and you need some bigger options. I'm dying to dip my toe into Festool but this doesn't quite fit the bill. Cordless miter is still very appealing though. I'll never understand why they don't just say $2000. $1999 is not fooling anyone and after tax it'll be higher. Thank you for the video sir. I would pay $2000 for this long before I paid $900 for the sawstop.
I have a very small home with limited storage and want a small saw and this thing fits the bill perfectly! I absolutely love all the features except one, it's exclusively cordless. No thanks, I don't want to be forced into a subscription service having to buy extremely expensive batteries every few years just to be able to use the saw occasionally. Make a corded version and I will be happy to buy day one.
Slowing down the rpm is great for lessening saw vibration and increased safety. Look at all the cheap table saws, they all have high rpm and dangerous high vibrations. I enjoy working with cabinet building table saws (belt driven) = low rpm and vibration. But when on job sites there's no choice but to use portable contractor table saws. Bosch offers a decent low rpm and slow start for around 1k.
Hi Rob, If you do a review on this can you address the alignment issues/blade bevel accuracy adjustments( or non adjustable +- .02 degrees) that many people have brought in forums and some on youtube. Also wanted to ask if right blade tilt will be a problem if you do a lot of bevel/rip cuts? Thanks!

This is the table saw that I have been hoping for for years and now it exists. On site large pieces are no problem with a conventional circular saw but for ripping small parts on really needs a table saw but they are really too large. Unfortunately in the U.K. this is £1,300 plus VAT. I couldn't pay for it.
I love festool and most of my kit is now cordless festool, but this is too expensive for me, I would only use it every now and then, so I think I’m going to go with the Milwaukee instead 😢
It looks like a great tool for finish carpenters, cabinet installers, and others who need to do precision work on a job site. It's not a replacement for a table saw in a shop.
I would agree but say this might also be an excellent small saw for fine woodworkers who simply don't have the space for a full size cabinet table saw and aren't typically working with full size sheet goods. The compatibility with Festool's awesome portable dust collectors also means no need for a large dust collection system. I don't currently own any, but I used several Festool products (domino and dust extractor) in a woodworking program and came away very impressed.
@@readyplayer2 You are correct. Festool's new saw might be a good fit for some small collection of fine woodworkers. However, for the overwhelming majority of woodworkers, there are better options for a table saw. For one thing, in the shop, battery power provides virtually no benefit for a table saw. Nor is extreme portability a great advantage in a shop saw. Even if you store the saw on a shelf when it's not being used, why store it in a sustainer just to put it on a shelf? Don't get me wrong, this saw has a lot of really cool features that most fine woodworkers would find attractive. Who wouldn't like the ability to repeatably and accurately set a blade angle with the push of a button? But, those features don't make up for what this saw lacks, which is capacity. It has a maximum rip capacity of 11", a cross cut capacity of less than 18", and a depth of cut of only 1-3/8". That's right, you cannot rip standard 2x lumber on this saw! Most woodworkers will need greater capacity than provided by this saw. It doesn't even accept a dado stack. (At least, Festool doesn't say it does.) If you need a compact table saw for a wood shop, there are simply better options for virtually all woodworkers. If all you make are relatively small items so the saw's lack of cut capacity doesn't limit you, then it might be a good fit. For most of us, it's not. But, Festool didn't make the saw for use in a shop. It's made for installers and others who need a precision job site saw and who can live with the saw's limited cut capacity. Were I still a finish carpenter, I'd order one today.
My only criticism with this tool is the lack of advanced finger / flesh saving safety features. Doesn't Festool's parent company (TTS) also own Sawstop? This Festool saw would come in around $200 more than Sawstop's Jobsite Saw Pro. While this looks like a superior small saw in almost every way, it's hard to overemphasize how nice it is to able to count to ten without taking your socks off, or to have to tell your customer that their job is going to be late because your guy just neatly removed his pointer finger. Even if there are patent licensing related issues between Festool and SawStop as different corporate entities, I believe Sawstop's patents have expired; couldn't Festool have incorporated similar technology? I would have liked the salesperson / product demonstrator to explain why in 2024 they're unveiling a new portable table saw without flesh detection technology.
You'll never find a festool rep anywhere else in the world doing a public demonstration of a tool touching the blade with the batteries installed. This is the only time I've felt festool lacked professionalism but its also the first American presentation I've watched ...
Nice Tool, but not practical for a contractor. Can buy 4- Dewalts or Bosch'es and 6 Skils for the price of 1 Festool . Out of my budget. Thank You for the video.
I wish they’d stop saying “cabinet makers” love this saw. Cabinet installers like it. This saw is useless for cabinet makers. I know he corrects himself, but like all RU-vid videos that mention this saw, none of them seem to point out that it specifically ISN’T for cabinet MAKERS.
Too bad festool can’t get the table flat. Quality control issues such as flatness are zero excuse for festool. I love their tools but this was a big misstep. It makes me very nervous to purchase this product from them. Not to mention it can’t take a dado. Yeah Sedge. It is the little things. Like table flatness!!!!!
It’s ridiculous money for a portable table saw, I’ll stick with my Dewalt in fact I think I would rather have my Dewalt, and I don’t really like the idea of a cordless table saw.
