The absolute best thing to happen during the COVID-19 pandemic is Festool Live Friday's. I don't own any Festool tools but have loved every presentation. Thanks for all of your efforts.

Great demo. Never really looked at the HK and probably wouldn’t use one but I definitely see the value now, particularly for plunge cutting.

How about this for a 5 second answer: HK is a freehand circular saw that becomes a chop saw/miter saw that you bring to work when you use the FSK, the TS is a panel saw you bring to the work. And they have overlapping capabilities, such as ripping lumbe

I like this although the HK with a TS track is a panel saw too, no?
@fotopdo
@fotopdo 3 года назад
@@errolpereira8292 Yes, that is true ... just not the ideal use. The TS55 has 48 tooth blade standard, and it plunges and has the best dust collection. So it’s optimal for very clean cuts in sheet goods, with very good dust collection for indoor work. The HK has a 18 tooth blade for construction lumber, doesn’t plunge and not the same level of dust collection since the blade is not fully covered. It excels in quick cuts in construction lumber, with fast angle setups with FSK rail.

Thanks for showing the finer points of the HKC. I am a hobbyist and tool nut. I have both saws and did not realise what the marks were for and how the rail stops function. Looking forward to the next episode

My first track saw is the HKC 55, only because HKC 85 isn't available. The accurate compound miter function is the most important feature for me. The shortest FSK is a waste because you have to buy the next size up to cut 2x12s right off the bat.

the FSK rail is such a great idea considering how long circular saws have been around and you'd thought they hit the wall with innovation in circ. saw world :)

Would 2.2 blade mess up rubber guide that was already cut with the 1.8 thick blade

Love these live videos, so helpful. One BIG suggestion, I really wish there was some volume control. Love the enthusiasm, but the voice gets so loud, like when running a tool. I often watch late at night and it can get so loud all of a sudden. Disturbing others in the house. Sedge is so good at this, but the video volume is a real problem.

The HK seems like a great saw that makes cutting 2x lumber a lot safer. For a company with such attention to detail, I don’t understand why they would not fix the issue with cutting on a 45. Sure you can snap off that little ridge but that’s something I’d expect to have to do on a harbor freight tool, not a Festool.

Love this video! The FSK rail is one of the best things I ever saw (no pun) 😀

When you bevel the saw, does the splinter guard get effected? Do you need to replace it after you make a beveled cut?
@edmiller2278
@edmiller2278 3 года назад
You don't need to change the splinter guard

Just make the saw 1/4 blade larger and then it'll be a game changer. No sanding required... Just slice and dice!

Hello! Good Work and Good Presentation! :) One Question...Can FSK be extended with regular rail FS 1400?
@manujmundhada7522
@manujmundhada7522 4 года назад
I wonder why the base of TS is not designed to run on both tracks. After watching this I understood why TS can't run on both track, but why it should not run on both tracks is mystery.
