Festool Roadshow - finding the next generation of tradespeople.
The Festool Roadshow, an educational tour promoting the trades and inspiring a new generation of workers, was hosted by Pittsburg’s own Carey Brothers, stars of the nationally syndicated home improvement radio and multimedia program, “On The House,” on Friday, March 8. This dynamic career development and trade education event took place at Future Build Teaching Facility, located at 2555 Harbor Street in Pittsburg.
Festool, a premier manufacturer of high-quality power tools, established the Festool Roadshow to visit schools and raise awareness for education and skills development. During the event, the Pittsburg-based Carey Brothers and other well-known industry associations and brands partnered with community youth to inspire them with ways to launch successful careers in trade work such as carpentry, plumbing and construction. It also offered training for educators, students and the general public.

Finding the next generation of tradespeople.
The trades are in crisis in America. Employers can't find enough skilled workers for trades jobs. At the same time, young Americans are having a difficult time finding stable jobs that don’t require increasingly expensive higher-education degrees.
Festool is hitting the road to help bridge this gap. We’re heading to trade schools and other educational institutions that are training the next generation of tradespeople.
On the 2019 Festool Roadshow, we are partnering with This Old House, Keep Craft Alive, SawStop, Shaper Tools, the National Wood Flooring Association, and the Home Builders Institute to teach, inspire, and prepare young workers for their new careers in the trades.
