A few classic tunes on the 1964 Hammond tonewheel A100. This is old school, no frills style of Hammond playing. No drum machInes, no extra keyboards, no Leslie, just straight HAMMOND organ. It's this style of playing from the 50s and 60s that hooked me on the Hammond sound. Sadly, organ music of this genre is dying out, players and all. It's rapidly being replaced with computerized boxes with lots of shiny buttons and flashing colored lights and keyboards that play themselves with little or no playing skills required. As one of my RU-vid subscribers commented recently, "Keep up that old Hammond style. While the audience might be shrinking due to attrition, those dinosaurs remaining love every rendition." I try my best to play it the way it was. I don't believe it will be around for much longer, in fact it's already gone.
