Phase one is you still reeling and shocked that Jenova appears NOW unlike the original, and it's now a room infesting gorish monstrosity even more then the original. Phase two is you trying to understand how Jenova works, figure out it's pattern, killing the tentacles, and slowly understanding it. Phase three is you ready to slay this monster once again like in the original. Also damn, I never knew Jenova can grab a party member at 4:42
Which is what I hate about this arrangement. It should be reversed. The original structure should come first, not the altered structure and melody. There have been countless official arrangements of this song that do it right by not changing the core structure of the music earlier in the song.
@@fonarte You telling me when playing the game you didn't get hyped when the more iconic beat dropped near the end of the fight? Or are you for some reason reviewing this in a vacuum, which is not what it was created for.
@@fonarte The OG structure should come first when it's the one we want the most? Nah it should drop for the last phase of the boss, when you reach the climax of the fight. Wtf are you talking about?
@@TaloneDrake They did the same thing with Sephiroth's theme. They held off from the iconic theme for a bit, but gave you just enough. It made the part when the theme was actually used seem so good.
This music, knowing what the composer was told, makes me believe that Jenova is truly "the source of everything" Sephiroth, Hojo, Gensis, Deepground bois, none of them are in control. It's JENOVA, this is a horror story about a Contagion, a calamity from the skies...
It's super EPIC with the orchestra and the choir and all, but is completely missing the creepy, otherworldly mood in the original. When it finally kicks in with a version closer to the original near the end, the sense of menace and danger immediately goes through the roof. But then it loses it again.
