A lot of people don't like the mods, and that is perfectly fine. But for people to say that those of us who make these mods for FREE aren't true fans of the game is just pure ignorance. It took me over 200 hours to retexture the battle scenes. Now i'm building the battles and scenes in full 3d with a group of people. Its going to take THOUSANDS of man hours. If you don't think we are fans of the game then you need to reevaluate your dedication to the game. We are artist who put our hearts into our mods and we over at qhimm are bigger fans than anyone who thinks otherwise.

people just hate change. your not changing the gameplay at all just textures and music and things like that. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes. Just gives it a new look and keeps it more relevant while still having the original game around.

Final Fantasy is what unites us and I cant believe how big this fanbase is. it's just great to see people still care for a game from the ps1 era. Final Fantasy 4 is what brought me here and I've played the previous games and the ones after. This community is awesome and should remain that way no matter what. Final Fantasy is and will forever be the biggest bond us complete strangers will share, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

With these models, 3rd person combat, and an updated soundtrack, I think everyone would be happy with the remake. Don't change what we play, but only how we play it. I think thats all we want.
I'd be happy with updated graphics, animations, and voice actors in place of the tedious (second time through) fmv's for expository dialogue. I like the rest of the game just the way it was made. Would like to see Square/Enix study the most excellent remake of the Xcom series (Firaxis). It updated the game without losing any of its original charm.
Mods are what show when game is truly popular. When gamers not just play, but want to create, to be creative, to expand game`s current possibilities, to correct developers`s mistakes etc. But beside graphical boost, most of what always wanted for FF7 was simply to have Sephiroth :D
You mean on PC? I prefer to play psx version on portables. And there is best imo mod, called all stars. It adds Turks with their own animations, not just skins & full Seph with playable forms :)
I have that PSP-mod. I tried it on PSX but would have issues with saving the mod, as the PSX would not be able to use the save game files. PSP was fine but i dislike the small screen. I am creating a similar mod for the PC-version but i have only made two chars (Cloud/Rufus and Aerith/Scarlet) yet. But there should exist Sephiroth-mods for the PC version as well. And i don't like the bad graphics of the PSX version. At least the PC-version looks better.
Never considered pc version much different graphic wise, unless you use mods like AC. And well, I value portability over other things. I seen simple Seph mods on pc & Turks, but they were reskins. Btw Scarlet? You want to make her playable??? Damn, I need to see it. Doin mods myself from time to time, but its been a while (like about 9 years), since I tried do FF7 something last time. Does that mean you have HD Scarlet model?
sadly i agree with itsme but i WANT THE same thing Sleese: its what we WANT: and again Sqaure id take the SAME GAME redo the backgrounds and character models: extend a few MAPS: THATS ALL WE WANT: not a REMAKE THAT BECAUSE YOU'RE ADDING NEW STORY, IS IN REALITY, A REBOOT. which is NOT...what ANYONE WANTED...even if most FANS dont know it yet...this "project"...is a retcon of the lore, and will fail. I just hope more wake up to that before their hype gets to high.

Re texturing basically the ENTIRE game, fixing some translations issue is another little tweak, again EXTEND A FEW maps PERHAPS. But again: A cheap HD remake EVERYONE WOULD BUY. OR a Remake/Reboot that half of us have already seen through...and by the time for release? Te Hype will be dead. (unless im underestimating the fanbase and being part of it lol, thats what im reading) Hence...all i can say is IF they want feedback after the FF7 Remaie/reboot fails: even though they wont do it or will GO UNDER before they can...tell them, "All we ever wanted, was a HD REMAKE: no extra stroy beyond extended DIALOGUE MAXIMUM, no new cutscenes, the SAME GAME: Updated, smoothly running graphics: and you'll sell 100 million copies before its done. Ochinpo first of all there’s nothing wrong with rebuying a classic that is an hd remaster. Second people were hyped not because it was a remake but because it was a game not a movie. Most people would have been just as happy with a full hd remaster

I played FF7 about 10 years ago. Now I am planning to play it again, and seeing all the variations of mods for characters maybe I'll play it for 3 times in a row. I liked the HD version that ressembles the concept art of the game and I hope it changes on the cinematic cutscenes as well... Or I can go to the other side, and keep their appearances on cinematics, but using a mod to make characters on the world map look exactly like on the cutscenes! Thank you for your video!
I played the original version so I don't mind the graphics as that is want i'm used to. But I know a lot of younger players find it very difficult playing "lego" FF7
having detailed models on the old low res background looks worse than the original game. unless someones remakes all the backgrounds it's a waste of time.
I agree with JRS, It just looks weird and characters aren't in proportion with eachother, the chairs are bigger than cloud sometimes, the good character art changed for the Crisis Core render art avatars bugs me too. I Don't like Nomura as a writer but the illustrations he did for this game was some of his best concept. I think the original game looks way better than these modded ones, simply because it all blends together better. Instead of trying tom make them look more real why not just keep the proportions of the original models but enhance details? I appreciate the work that goes into this but I think it all looks distracting and all over the place.
Those who are ff7 fans thinks that the original graphics is fine. The major appeal of the FF7 remake is not the graphics, but the alternative take on the story.
These mods makes me really want me to play FF7 again. I miss this game so much never thought they would announced the remake in my lifetime but they did.

I've been meaning to play this game for a while after playing the majority of the other FF's, but the chibis just wouldn't let me enjoy it (sorry!). With those mods I'll be able to endure it! "You need to have a flash drive-" hold up, I've modded ff7 since before the steam days and you never needed to do any of that. You only need to replace some core files to mod the game. Can confirm this method still works for the steam version. Obviously make backups of the original core files in case something goes wrong. Also you may want to look into some better looking HD mods If you want to say it looks better.
NinjaSenpai To use the Qhimm mods you have to convert the FF7 executable to an older version. The Qhimm mods trick the game to read other files, but for some reason needs to have phyical media named with the FF7PC label. You can burn a blank DVD with the label or even rename your hard drive, but the flash drive is the easiest way to trick the system.

Started on PS one, moved to PS2, now play on PS3. Hate the new PS4. Controllers are way to sensitive. Need a way to tone them down for us veteran old players.

I don't play the game, but I watch the movies, purchase the movies and love watching all the shorts on RU-vid and story lines about ff7. ❤️♥️👍 I would love to see Sephiroth and Kadaj turn good, team together and fight other forces. Would love Square to make a major motion picture that comes on HBO, like they have done in the past with other FF movies, except they need to introduce the public to these awesome FF7 characters. Vincent is so handsome and mysterious, love the way his Red clothing moves around as if it has a life of its own!Zack needs to stay alive and definitely not die, and would like to see his relationship develop with Aerith and friendship with Cloud. Zack can come close to death, but get better and continue on in these videos and movies. Just love this character and his relationship and close friendship with cloud. Aahhh I remember using QUIMM many years ago, good they still going. Actually had a mod author send me some unique models for Cloud to make him look ultra detailed in his full Advent Children getup, complete with all his swords on back ect. Great modding experience

Wait, seeing the detailed models makes it nostalgic for you? Personally the higher detail kills it for me. While the characters look nicer the entirety of the world you walk in is not upgraded. So everything still looks nostalgicly 1997 except for the models, who now stand out like a sore thumb. Like trying to read a story from a book with popup pictures except they are so big you gotta move the book away to see it all.
Yeah, because the CG models have been replicated pretty accurately with one of the mods, allowing me to have those in real time is actually really nostalgic because I always wanted those models

I really want to replay this game but i dont think i can handle the Aerith death scene again, i nearly cried at that point when i first played it like 20 years ago.
