That's the only problem with these quests is that usually only 1 or 2 of your party will react to it. You know that all the others will laugh at this shit. Still an improvement over the Like a Dragon series where only Kasuga or Kiryu will be the character involved in 95% of the substories.
I've been recently rewatching Final Fantasy 7 Machinabridged (an abridged FF7 parody, for those unaware), and because of that in particular, I can't help but think, "Oh yeah, Barret and Tifa would be busting a gut seeing Cloud like that." Or at least, those versions of them would be.
If you do it when he still has the “old man” voice, he would comment on Cloud being tough. But I love how with his true personality out, he just laughs with Yuffie.
I assume its a chapter select only thing? The 2nd half of the corel protorelics doesn't open up until after the 2nd gold saucer visit (well past cosmo canyon)
You paid $60 for the first five hours of a game from 1997 bloated to 40, then you paid $70 for the next 9 hours of the same game you already paid $60 for, and now you're in a youtube comment section talking about how great it is. Congratulations. You're the embodiment of the consoomer meme.
Bruh the original game, much as I love it, is a skeleton of a story that didn't have time for deeper characterisation or clarification of parts of its plot because it was cramming it all into 35 hours. Does it make Square more money? Yes. Does it make sense artistically? Also yes. That's not to say there isn't bloat in these games, but if Remake/birth needed to lose 20lbs then OG is dangerously underweight. And I say this as someone who's disappointed in Remake for other reasons, but one thing it absolutely does well is make you fall in love with the main cast.
This is so funny to me, the goofy music, Cloud grumpines, Yuffie being trolled and Red surprisingly overly excited brings this all together, I laughed for 5 minutes 😂😂
@jeremycampbell4021 I honestly don't need that reminder, it completely ruins the character for me and I am one of the very few that like Red more than a majority of the cast.
He does have a deeper voice. He uses two voices. The deeper voice is mostly used around people he doesn't know or trust, to put on appearances of being older or wiser than he actually is. This voice he shows here is his "true" voice, cuz you gotta remember, he's technically equal to a teenager. He only uses this voice around people he trusts.
@@jeremycampbell4021 And it's apparently how he was in the original Japanese version of the game. Something that got quite a bit lost in translation into English.
His voice (and dialogue) changes after going to Cosmo Canyon. His "Old Man" voice was something he was doing so that he wouldn't be seen as "just a dog" by the party, this higher voice is his real one. Remember, Red is just a Teenager.
@@vargas4224 It actually was like that in the original FF7, with Red's speaking patterns changing in the Japanese version after reaching Cosmo Canyon, which multiple party members commented on. However due to the poor translation the game had, it was almost unnoticeable in the English version.
Because on the off-chance it is... Red is initially presented with a deep voice, but it's revealed to be a facade as soon as they arrive to Cosmo Canyon, and he starts using his real voice (along with being his true youthful self) from then on. From what I understand, this was present in the original games too, but it was mainly reflected in how he spoke, and because of how poorly translated the game was, practically none of this nuance was carried over from the Japanese script.
It's his real voice. He mentions in Cosmo Canyon that he wanted to be respected in the group and not seen as a dog so he uses a deeper "old man voice" until you get to Cosmo where you find out the truth
Nanaki was always suppose to be an adolescent, his old self was always a fake even in the OG, here in the remake he pretend to be wise and mature and have a deep old voice until before reaching Cosmo Canyon, once you reach it the facade fall off and he reveal his real young voice and stop try acting like and adult. This also happened in the OG FF7 at least is made very obvious in the Japanese script, where the kanji used by old man in their language are changed with terms and words used by adolescents, sadly when the game was translated into english a problem happened,to show is child personality he was suppose to start to talk in the writing with a young country accent to replace his fake self up until that point ,but do to time restraint they could not do it,they were forced to go by translation alone which from japanese to english did not worked at all,so in the english version Nanaki change, was really really hard to notice, even if if his grampa still tell you even in the original "he pretend to act grumpy to seem older, what did you thought he was old?" something along those lines, here in the remake he actually state he is 48 years old but in human age he is barely 15 years old, this thing about his age back in the past was stated in guides and by the producers. Pretty much people that never looked deeply into FF7 history or read some of the interview where the producer apologized for the poor translation and only played the OG english version, have a big misconception as a result of Nanaki character. Here in the remake they are retconning this mistake since they could not in the original for those that did not knew.
U know i used to look forward to the remake of final fantasy 7. Then this shit came out and it actually caused the opposite of excitement and happiness that i had waited so long for. Who would of ever thought right?
I remember all the people speculating they’d sell it as 3 separate games saying they’d never buy it. I hate to admit they were right. At this point. They took a beloved game and franchise. And stretched it out as much as they could. Making what could’ve been an 80 three disc game. A 200$ money grab for all three parts 💀💀

The new youger sounding voice is fitting since Red XIII is a teenager. he only put on that mature sounding voice because he wanted to be taken seriously, so he put on a tough guy act. Sure his character bio saids he's 48 years old or so. but by his species' standards, that's considered adolescent. His species is very long living counting their lifespan in centuries instead of decades. Hell, by the end of the events of the original FF7 game. He was still around 500 years later after the Meteorfall and the ruin city of Midgar was completely covered in overgrowth. Either way I like both version of this character's voice.
