FF7 Rebirth Dev Interview - Keyword For Part 3 & Do You Need To Play OG FF7? 

we all know that Cloud and Tifa will be clapping cheeks in the HIghwind...and we're all here for it!

the reason ff7 remake exist is because of the OG! its part of it u cant say u dont need to play it or it doesnt matter. as always excellent critical thinking a thing most ppl mis these days

I personally think that the affinity system should go or at least it should be reworked to not have dialogue choices. All it does is make people think that Cloud is a blank slate for the players feelings which he isnt. He is his own person with his own emotions. Besides, the original game removes dialogue choices after Cloud recovers himself. I just don't want multiple versions of conversations and scenes because it makes people confused ultimately. Even today people still argue about what actually happened under the highwind and its because two version of the scene exist and there is no diffinitive answer. Fun 30 years ago but now it's just annoying

I can just imagine the Highwind scene where you get Red 13.. the whole scene Red 13 is just running from Cloud while crying 🤣

You have to play the OG and read Lifestream White/Black to get an idea of what the Remake Trilogy actually is. The devs need to stop being vague and disingenuous. It's just driving confusion and division among the fans. They can tell the fans what the Trilogy is without giving away the plot. They definitely have to bring back bonding for pt3. Maybe tweak the system a little but doing sidequests and picking dialogue choices to build affinity was a highlight for me

What was the screaming?

The Highwind Scene of Cloud and Tifa must remain untouched and not limited to the affinity/Bonds system. Part 3 can have a closure scene for the most high affinity party member but the Highwind scene must be only for Cloud and Tifa because it's key for both of them for their character arcs.

I just beat it recently n already want part 3😂😂😂😂 like crossing the ocean and the tiny bronco i neeed that submarine im spending all my time in it 😂

Acceptance would be a great theme for Part 3. It's the end of the world. Meteor is falling. Cloud's past. Shinra's guilt. Cid's dream. Lucrecia's decision etc. etc.

Heya Dave! Great video as always, I love your insight and thoughts you speak out loud and love your tangents as you are authentic with your opinions. Making a video is not easy as I have tried and it can be difficult to come across a certain way. I don't think we are going to gleam much more info about part 3 than we already have, but hey there's always the chance for a freudian slip?? I really believe to get the full throated experience of FF7 you should play the OG as there are tons of Mods available that make it absolutely wonderful and fully fan voiced. The modding community continuously makes great improvements and it will only get better. Also keep in mind in part 3 hopefully they reveal whether this is a sequel or just another interpretation. As far as the TifaXCloud scene, I'm all for it but in the same token I hope we also see a AerithXZack reunion scene as well. The question will be if after they hit the main story beats of the rest of the OG, will they just go off the rails and give us new story thus proving this is really a sequel and Genesis is revealed or will we get a screen that says "WATCH ADVENT CHILDREN... THANK YOU FOR PLAYING...GOOD-BYE lol I know they wouldn't do that. I just hope we get the Tri-Tech Attack system and maybe some new playable characters too besides Vincent and Cid... like Cissnae, Shelke, Elfe, or maybe Verdot too? I'm pretty sure after Part 3 if we get no DLC now, there will most definitely be DLC afterwards. I'm sure you've seen the new Ever Crisis Content coming so far... it's amazing!! If part 3 has an affection system it might be related to the high wind but not necessarily exclusively what does or doesn't happen with Tifa. Obviously high affection with her leads to a scene that we're all anticipating will happen. But let's also think about how it may affect the other characters, IF it's there. If you remember everyone departs for a little while before coming back. Perhaps if you have low affection with a specific character they won't come back, with mid affection they come back with normal but boring reasons about saving the world. Maybe with high affection they come back stating that cloud motivated them to and get a small power up (like a stat boost, or maybe it unlocks their high level limit break). If it's in the game at all I imagine it will work something like this.
