Thanks for the breakdown of the deck! As a coping hoping FF13 trilogy stan, I've been hyped for this since I saw it announced! I'm also coping and hoping trying to make a build of the Lightning/Ice version that doesn't feel terrible xD I figure I'll weigh in on Cid Raines funky looks since you asked! This might be a bit long. So in FF13 the Fal'Cie act as basically gods and sometimes "brand" a human as a L'Cie, giving them great power and magical ability at the cost of being enslaved to the Fal'Cie's will to complete a single, monumental task called a "Focus". If they don't do it quick enough, or if they fight back and try to break the Fal'Cie's hold over them, they become a mindless crystalline monster called a Cie'th. The driving force of FF13's story is that the whole party are all L'Cie trying to figure out a way to break the curse. As you can see from his job, Cid is a L'Cie, enslaved to the Fal'cie of Cocoon and tasked with aiding the main party's quest. The tragic thing is that Cid is a freedom fighter working to free humanity from the Fal'Cie, but he was basically an inside man and got in too deep, resulting in him being branded and forced to become a L'Cie. In the boss fight in which he takes the form on the card (One of the hardest fights in the game btw) Cid is exercising his last shreds of free will, becoming a partial Cie'th on his own terms and disobeying his Fal'Cie masters in order to die on his own terms against the party, as a human fighting for humanity. So yeah that's why he looks so messed up (I think it's badass :P) and imo explains why he's got those damage effects. The closer he is to death, the harder he fights for his freedom! And clearly, him easily breaking forwards is a reference to how hard he KICKED MY ASS
Just wow, thank you for that. I love it when real fans elaborate on the stories like you just did. It almost make me want to play it xD I just couldnt get past the controls/battle system the first i think. As for the list it seems pretty straight forward but like I said by next week Ill be sharing some versions and hopefully with links to the list as long as ffdecks has their site updated.
@@EmoTempest That's totally fair, FF13 is much different to the other entries in the franchise and does take a while to properly get going. So I don't blame you for falling off it :) Looking forward to those deck profiles!
ffdecks.com/deck/6581035941756928 This is a better kick off point from the most recent event in Germany. Got second place in a 91 man tournament. Still fairly cheap as well
