What was the inspiration behind No Promises to Keep? Uematsu: Since it is a ballad, I wanted to make it absolutely electrifying. I was asked to make the song so that the key phrase would play in repetition, and that’s when Harry Nilsson’s “Without You” came to mind. I took inspiration from it and decided to repeat a key phrase in the chorus. Uematsu: This is the first time I’ve heard this, and I’m glad she sensed exactly what we were aiming for. “No Promises to Keep” is a love song. I wanted it to exude a sweet feeling, but at the same time, evoke the complex feeling as Aerith confessed her feelings. I tried to build up the song as it climaxed, exactly as Loren described. Was there anything you paid attention to when singing “No Promises to Keep”? Loren: I wanted to get to know Aerith well, and I also wanted to depict her relationship with Cloud. So, for me to channel her fragile and pure personality, I needed to change certain elements of my natural vocals to match up with her character. No Promises to Keep was inspired by, “Without you” I just listened to the one Mariah Carey sings in Japan.
I played in 97 OG game, and now I played Remake and rebirth. With 40 years old i cried like a baby. What a story...propably the Best romance story ever in video games. Also..everyone who think that this is not a Aerith song for cloud...just listen to lyrics...thats all.
Yeah with rebirth and remake, (not to mention all the stuff in spin offs like FFT and Dissidia) Cloud X Aerith has become probably one of my favorite romances is like.............all of fiction? It's beautiful, it's hopeful, it's tragic, it's so many things.
I wonder when I will be able listening to this masterpiece without crying. They just deserve happiness man, he searched way too long for her in multiple universes. 🥺 "No promises awaits a journey's end" and they don't need any promises.. sooo.. they'll meet again at the end(?) 😭 "proof that love indeed conquers all" 🥺
I also love that 'search for her in other universes' is literally canon (IE the developers have said his appearance in FFT is canon). He gets zapped to Ivalice and the thing that snaps him back is meeting a flower girl (who looks suspiciously like Aerith) and saves her from some thugs.
Cloud and Aerith have full songs for each other, and people want me to believe that Cloud doesnt love Aerith , and that Aerith loves Cloud because of Zack, and they are red herring
Ya man like seriously it just feels like developers are passionate while making cutscenes, dialogues and song when it comes to cloud and aerith. When I first saw FF7 remake (I joined the fandom around 2020) I instantly got that cloud and aerith lovestory is peak and the love triangle is just there show depth and contrast between aerith and tifa. But then I jumped to internet was shocked that people say cloud and aerith lovestory is fake or they are just friends.
@@mkdev1540 I mean its really diificult story , and its true that Cloud also loves Tifa, but feelings sometimes diifficult and sometimes people have feelings for more than one person, like both Cloud and Aerith. And their story is the most beautiful in my opinion
@@НикитаСимонян-ж5е I even tried to convince myself that cloud tifa are real deal because how the western content creators try to highlight them but I couldn't cause I don't see that strong bond between cloud and tifa. It feels like cloud tifa story just tells us that a healthy relationship demands more than mutual feelings for each other.
@@mkdev1540I'm the same as you, in the "x" application you can see thousands of people giving a lot of love to fanarts of Tifa and Cloud but I really think they don't want to see Aerith's true chemistry and story and believe me I don't hate Tifa at all unlike the others who do hate and hate Aerith
While I'm a ship and let ship kind of guy..........the lyrics specifically state 'walking city streets' and then seeing each other. Zack and Aerith's first meeting was when he crashed into her church. Her and Cloud's first meeting was on the street after the reactor bombing. The song is clearly about Cloud. Not that I don't think Aerith would still want to do all she could to create a world safe for Zack.
its somewhat about both, but mostly cloud. her feelings for cloud at the beginning were mostly from zack, but it has shifted from him to cloud over time. of course she'll still be nostalgic and still look fondly about zack, but she wants to move on. she wants cloud to save her
@@ErzaMan14 How is it about both? I dont get it. Where she sings about multiple persons in this song? Our street, our place, walking city cobblestones streets, theres literally nothing about Zack
I dont hate her but dont like her either. She acts way too much like a child and her voice actress sometimes delivers the lines almost soullessly. Sounds like she is just reading the script. She sounds like she only has one emotion most of the time. Not always though in certain cutscenes she's pretty solid like she was really good in her trial section with her mom at the temple but speech she gave afterwards was so unserious in tone. Compared to barrett's or tifa's VA she sticks out like a sore thumb.
@@EfecanYSL Man I think it's dumb to hate a character because of an english dub voice actor. The JP voice actress did an amazing job and that's the way the game is intended to be experienced, the game's animations are based on the JP voices. Reminds me of how people hated Eren's character in Attack on Titan because of his English VA. But his JP voice actor was great. Also, acting whimsical doesn't mean childish.
@@EfecanYSL Voice actors ? Play in Japanese then, if you dont like voice actors. They are all much better. Intonations very different.I'll tell you a secret, if you knew Japanese, the English translation is also not good and spoils the meaning of some scenes. For example, the last date with Aerith. The photographer says it's like they're at a funeral, when in fact he says Aerith is almost crying, implying that she knows these are their last moments
I love how each and every love song composed by Uematsu-san feels like it's from the same time period. This one is so 1990s, just like Eyes on Me and Melodies of Life. I love it!
I have to say with Remake and Rebirth as well as the OG game and AC for context, Cloud X Aerith has now become like one of my top 3 romances in like ALL of fiction. Sure a lot of their relationship is typical tropes in some aspects but it's just done SO WELL, ESPECIALLY in the Remake and Rebirth entries I can't help myself
@@christine8459what I love so much about them too is that Cloud breaks that facade around her 😭 he's always himself when he's with her, he's not putting on the tough soldier guy act, she breaks that barrier of his and he becomes the shy goofy kid he is deep down because he loves her so much
@@apanofbread agreed. I really love watching Cloud becoming comfortable around Aerith that showing his goofiness doesn't matter to him when they're together. He even starts to join her antics now in Rebirth.
I'm still crying. Just finished the game last night. It made me remember how much i loved the original. What an amazing experience. In my opinion remake and rebirth are at the same level of the original game. Not higher, not lower. Equals, and each great in their own unique way.
This scene made me cry tears of joy but to be fair I think this is a love song to the friends that she met not just Cloud but she loves every single person she met. She knew her fate but she wanted her friends to know that they'll see each other someday even if it's not physical.
@@nickcanzoneri3012 i really hope it wins game of the year. It for sure is a big contender. And to be fair i don't see any upcoming releases this year that can surpass it.
This game made me cry 3 separate times: 1st time was during Aerith’s flashback, 2nd time was her death, and the 3rd time was at the ending and during the credits. I absolutely love this game. GOTY 2024!! This game also made me realize that I love Aerith more than Tifa
I really hope Cloud and Aerith reunited in Part 3, everybody knows that even the dev teams of FF7 that Clerith is Canon, period. From the lyrics i guess they will meet each other "on our street" (where they first met) and "in a chance that we'll share a glance". I am being hopeful here that, .Aerith is alive after the planet is saved, and that Cloud and Aerith meet "on our street" probably a dream or in real life. Then Cloud will go to "their place" the flower bed at the church where Aerith waited for him. That will be the best ending of the FF7 series. Yes, Cloud will come and find Aerith in part 3. The hollow and this song is so beautiful
2:42 oh god that lyric killed me. All she wants to do is live in a world where Cloud will be safe, but since she can't, she knows their going to have to 'part; in order to save him.
@@robreich6881 here. If only I'd never known All the burdens I was born to bear Lived a life without a care in the world save for you But that won't do
I think they will but it may be more....implied? then anything? My guess is with the recent ending that Cloud and Aerith are on different 'worlds' but are still connected. With Sephiroth's 'reunion' i think their worlds will come together again but then may be forced to part, but at the end we will be shown Cloud searching for her like he does in like EVERY appearance he has.
@@Insanartisti started getting emotional during Yuffie's trial then i got more emotional during Barret's then i bawled my eyes out during Aerith's trial, then i cried at the Forgotten City and then again at the end when the credits rolled with No Promises to Keep playing
"This isn't about me, though." "It's about saving the world - and you" "So thank you, Cloud - for....everything" "It been fun." "No Promises Await at Journey's End" ; - ;
The loc in English is a bit much i think, the Japan loc is "Kono materia ga kito, sekai oh sku" which means from my understanding is "this materia is used to save the world"
"If only I'd never known All the burdens I was born to bear Lived a life without a care In the world save for you...but that won't do" - No matter how many times I listen, I always cry at this moment.😭
What the story of FF7 wants to tell us is not to escape loss and death, but to face loss and death, and to cherish those who are still alive and those who love us; so I think that in the third part of FF7 Remake Aerith should not be resurrected.
@@yuio823 With all due respect, at the end of Rebirth, we witnessed the murder of a girl, culminating in the fact that her dead boyfriend went through the portal to pose with his friend, make fun of someone before fighting his killer. Then the said murdered girl comes out of her magic portal to exchange barbs with her killer, and receives an answer from the said killer that he underestimated her. And the game gave us some clues that it wasn't an obsession in the head of the Cloud, but rather what really happened Unlike the original, now it doesn't look like death anymore, it can't be called a loss if you can always talk and see a person. So the resurrection will not violate the theme of FF 7 in any way, because this is no longer the same game that was in '97.
@@TheMakkMan FF7 Rebirth is a world with many parallel universes, and these parallel universes sometimes intersect and sometimes separate, so this is not a concept of character resurrection, but a concept of interactive influence of parallel universes; and anyone who understands the story of FF7 OG knows that , Sephiroth can communicate with the soul of any dead person without any hindrance, including the soul of Aerith
@@yuio823 But resurrection has always been in FF7. In the original, Sephiroth literally resurrects himself in a Mako Cocoon. So the resurrection of any character will not violate the idea of the original in any way.
@@TheMakkMan Sephiroth was able to be resurrected because his body was once transplanted with Jenova's cells during the embryonic stage. Jenova's unusually tenacious vitality is one of its characteristics. Even if the body is torn apart, the cells can still respond to each other ,and regenerate to original state. And because Jenova once infected the Cetra people(Aerith's mother is a pure Cetra and her father is a human), Sephiroth also has the ability to communicate with souls (Cloud's body was once transplanted with Jenova's cells by Dr. Hojo, so Cloud can also have the ability to communicate with souls.)so as far as the conditions set in the story are concerned, Aerith cannot be resurrected
I've had a hard time processing the ending but when I hear this song and Hollow, it's clear that they both complement each other. And whatever happened at the end, I'm sure in the third game they'll see the wishes of both songs fulfilled, to meet again and then hold to each other and never let go.
Aerith died! But then she survived! In a different timeline… one that cloud is simaltaneiosuly experiencing. TLDR cloud is experiencing two timelines at once, one where aeirth died and one where she didn’t. For whatever reasin hers is like half merged with the remake timeline. That’s why only cloud can see the rift in the sky, it only exists in Aerith’s timeline. I think :3
@@sepherioth5568 Yeah I think you're on the right track, the reason for why only cloud is in the reality where he saved Aerith, I think can be explained that it is because he alone entered the destiny's crossroads, and it was only after he challenged fate (saving/not saving aerith) that his group managed to follow. Since the original fate was her death, that's why the party followed the unaltered timeline, when the wall of fate dropped and they joined the Cloud that failed to save Aeirth. I believe that part 3 will see those timelines either reunited, or giving cloud the choice on which to stay, that's the only way I see them preserving the og timeline that leads to Advent children while still allowing for a happy ending with aerith
@@Msflammer Yup I also thought that, cloud has created two time lines and these two timelines are merged or overlap but only cloud can see this , he is not hallucinating as Red Was able to sense her. I feel like the whole party will think that cloud is hallucinating (as they already know something is off with cloud's mind).
for those who don't know who the singer is, she is Loren Allred, a person who got famous at britain got talent who revealed that she is the real singer of one of the hardest and famous songs in recent years, Never Enough, in the Greatest Showman, where the actors and actresses both acted and sung. Led by Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), it talks abt the real life of the founder of freak shows and later circuses ard the world
I actually hope Aerith doesn't get saved. It's because she's a loved character, removing her death from the story is like removing her impact she created on us from her death, doesn't do her justice.
@fadlanfadilah1171 In Zack's world, Aerith and Cloud are alive, yes, but the rest of the party are dead. I'm guessing Zack is eventually going to have some dialogue with Aerith that "this one's too big" and sends Cloud's consciousness back to the original timeline, much like the ending of Advent Children. Rebirth is just teasing us with some hope that Zack's world isn't an afterlife world, but it still is. The real world is still the one with Zack and Aerith both dead.
@@KrelianLoke i doubt it is "afterlife", since one of zack worldline got destroyed by the meteor. also rather than making a fan theory, i rather take sephiroth explanation of how reality works at face value.
Beginning the video with the view of Midgar gives me a nostalgic feel. They really have gone so far. This is yet another great GMV for "No Promises to Keep"☁️🌸.
My wife of 13 years have never seen me cry.. until I finished this game 2 days ago 🤣(I blame the "Goodbye" with this song playing). Nice to know that I'm not dead inside. Played OG back in 97 - even though it's one of my atf, it was just a game to me then. I was bummed of her death but was more concerned about what will happen to the equipped materias. But this - this hits different. Never thought I'd be emotional over a game at almost 40 y/o. Still recovering and I'm not even close - confused about all the timeline crap though.
MAN. I absolutely LOVED the ending to Rebirth. Seeing the Tiny Bronco fly off in the distance and hearing this song gave me this sense of sadness and hope as to where Cloud and his friends will go next. It really made me think of the ending to "The Land Before Time" with Diana Ross singing "If We Hold On Together". It's the same feeling for me. I love this game. AND this song!
This is so amazing !!! Congrats the chemistry and magic that exists between Cloud and Aerith is unique 🥰 there's only one thing that makes me sad...Why didn't we get to see a kiss between them ?? why Square ?? you've made such an incredible relationship between them, full of chemistry, something magical, since FF7 Remake...why did you give Cloud/Tifa a chance to kiss and not Cloud/Aerith ?? someone help me understand please
I would like it but...I have a lot of doubts. Square with Remake and Rebirth is being very cruel to Aerith/Cloud fans... their interactions, the "almost kisses"... they really like to torture us... and then nothing happens@@audriari
It's because in Japanese culture, holding hands with interlocked fingers is more romantic. So they gave Cloud and Aerith the more romantic thing. Not to mention, the entire Tifa kiss scenario is literally a reference to a live action Japanese series where a guy lies to a girl. (The guy who lies likes this girl.) Telling her that the person she likes is hung up on their ex, so she kisses that guy instead. Just like how Tifa lies to Cloud about Aerith's feelings, and Cloud kisses her because he thinks Aerith is still hung up on Zack 😅 Basically, Cloud and Aerith don't need to kiss. Holding hands is their love language.
I am glad that they didn't kiss in P2. Holding hands, being shy with each other, resembles their personality. I wouldn't want them to kiss, when aerith wants to meet and to be with the real Cloud. She let's him focus on himself first, and imo it's way more romantic that they're holding hands and cherish each other than a kiss which would feel out of character. But i hope that we'll see one in P3 🥹🙌🏼
Honestly, I feel like this song suggest, “If only I don’t know the burden I have to bare” I think she knowing is what keeping her to fully fall for Cloud as it’s not safe for him too.
What the story of FF7 wants to tell us is not to escape loss and death, but to face loss and death, and to cherish those who are still alive and those who love us; so I think that in the third part of FF7 Remake Aerith should not be resurrected.
Same, like I’m sleeping while listening to this song ever night. It should win Grammy or anything similar bc I’m obsessed with it. THE SONG OF THE YEAR!
Zeriths, in particular, are very mad about Rebirth. Not only Marlene tells Zack to his face that Aerith has feelings for Cloud, Zack is shown accepting it (and being nice, Zack is nice, no idea why so many of his fans are terrible.). This is an unskippable canon scene and they can't find a way to cope with it. So in conjunction with Clotis they made up the absurd lie that this song is about Zack, or as I've seen more recently, about both Zack and Cloud. They are also being very spiteful towards Aerith, calling her a whore for moving on from a guy she saw sometimes when she was a teenager five years ago. In general, the internet is very salty with Aerith, which doesn't surprise me. The western fandom has always been like that. I'm happy at least in Japan they appreciate Aerith properly, she doesn't deserve any of the trash this fandom says about her.
@@Spear_of_Boudicca what's wrong with moving on from a guy she saw five years ago? I was once a teenager and had a crush on a boy, but I moved on too lol. I mean, Marlene isn't wrong, Aerith really likes Cloud to the point where she chose to spend time with Cloud before her death. And this song is only about one person and not multiple, it's been confirmed, and I really think it's about Cloud. I also heard that many Clotis harassing the developers and Nojima such as sending death threats and more. But instead, Cleriths got accused of harassing the developers and Nojima.
@@Spear_of_BoudiccaIt’s so disappointing being a westerner rn… we truly are a bunch of degenerates. At least I have Cloud and Aerith and comments like these that don’t make me feel like I’m taking crazy pills, thank you!
@@Speechless84 I do hope so. It would be heartwarming to see Cloud giving it back to her when they meet again. Although the creators might troll us and follow that line with Zack instead.
@@delriver77 No, I don't think so..I think Zack will have huge role reunited them. He accepted that Aerith has feelings for Cloud. Even at the end of Rebirth he shouted to Clouth "save her" He is a fantastic friend. He will do everything he can to help them. I believe that in part 3 we will have decisive fight between Sephiroth vs Aerith, Cloud and Zack.
@@Speechless84 Zack might reunite them in one of the timelines, but the Zack/Aerith ship is pretty popular as well (see Advent Children), I don't think it would be fair for Zack either to leave him alone. IMO they should let the player decide what Zack should do in the alternate timelines once the Zack/Aerith past has been finally revealed: stay with Aerith or help Cloud reunite with her. That's the game I'd like to play.
I hope we will get alternative time where Aerith is alive and cloud can be with her or like he dies for the planet and reunites with Aerith in promised land 😭💞
@@001Sweety kinda of like FF15 ending where luna and noctis are together. TBH I wanted my boy noctis to stay with his homies forever. Damn man I still don't get it why square canceled the DlCs for alternate good ending and made luminous production to focus on forspoken.
@@mkdev1540I never played FF15 but I heard about it. I like the brotherhood part of that game tho I’m a sucker for tragic love story so the ending wasn’t bad for me.

One of if not the best love romances in entertainment. There is so much of this song that reminds me of rnb and soul from whitney Houston and melody thornton especially the vocalization and dramaticness of the singing which is found in soul music. Implementing these elements in this song elevates the it to new heights. Truly a masterpiece and personally one of my favorite games of the modern era. It is a true masterpiece.
@@ErenDenizMert I agree. She’s Rosa 4/6 times, is actually a mage, is the only one shown in the credits for it, the fortune telling Cait gives match her meeting with Cloud, and the play itself is called Loveless, which also happens to be the name of the street she and Cloud met on.
I Dont think Aerith is really dead. I think in the last game they will find her somewhere or find a way to save her. Remake and Rebirth really has story changes. Probably when timelines/worlds unite they will find a way to bring aerith back
@@001Sweety Yeah they never showed where cloud lowers Aeirth's body in the water that was such an memorable scene in the OG game. Im betting she is out there somewhere.
@@Nallygiesee it can still lead to it just happening differently. Remake is still like OG in many parts but changed some parts of it narrative. The same can be done with AC.
When I saw this scene in the game, seeing the avalanche trio (Jesse, Biggs, & Wedge) I teared up and went “that hurts” such a good song ;3 Added comment- I just finished the game, now this song hits me very differently now. I Cried.
man, i kinda forgot how good these solo vocal songs from FF are. if y'all think THIS is good, wait for 2055 when FF8 remake's 4th game releases and we'll have Eyes on Me remade for the future audiences, the thought alone is peak.
Even though I like Tifa. I am willing to accept Cloud and Aerith cannon thousands of folds over. You can't just setup stories like this and just rip people's fucking hearts out. I mean they did LMFAO. Anyways, part 3 better have a good ending for Cloud and Aerith. SE also had the balls to put "No promises at the end of the journey" and I was like "Bitch.." LOL. Also can we talk about devastated Tifa still is about losing Aerith. T---T For me it was double ripping. First Cloud losing Aerith and then Tifa in so much pain about losing Aerith. Ya can't do this to me and not give me a good ending in part 3.
I want to see my wife finish the game, she's on chapter 13. She loves aerith so much, but i think she wont feel emotional. Ending is confusing af and im sure she will be confused more than emotional. its hard to know if she survived or not, not unless you go to the internet and read comments.
@@Insanartisti don't think so. The dev's told us that they have almost finished script and the ending for the 3 part. I think the game will be shorter than Rebirth. More like Remake with open world. My hope is they will release it on the 30 anniversary of FFVII on 2027
Weirdly I didn’t find the death scene that sad and i was honestly more confused by it then anything. But that ending scene when her "ghost" is seeing everybody off really got to me especially when they take off and leave her behind.
She's actually not dead. When Cloud deflected, the blade he saw Aerith's body ☠️ in the timeline with avalanche. However, when he said, "Wake up." A rainbow effect which is used when a new divergence against fate has occurred happened. Basically, she is actually alive, and Cloud is living in both timelines. The one where I imagine he abandoned avalanche and chased Aerith after the first bombing leading to events that resulted in them more than likely saving sector 7 and stopping the second bombing. Then, deciding to leave alone together to stop Sephiroth. I call the no extra friends reality another timeline because everything is mostly the same except that only the two of them left, meaning Stamp is the same dog breed as the main timeline. Aerith basically synchronized Cloud's bodies in both timelines when she stopped him from following her in the forest with the white whispers. Which explains why he saw all the events that happened after Sephiroth made them fall in the main timeline via a green lifestream filter until Barrett put him down in the exact spot his other body collapsed. Meaning he was moving in both realities at once from that point on. It also explains why he's not tripping about her showing up to help fight Sephiroth or that only he knows she's alive because he kinda figured it out. To further prove my point, he had a second black materia, which can only be from his body in the timeline where only the two of them left. The headache he got after seeing the black materia was basically the bodies fusing completely. Hence, his entire change in movements afterward, because he remembered everything. In addition to this, Zack and Cloud interacting in the singularity was a crucial part of him saving Aerith. That tangled with Zack's last line about the worlds makes me believe the flowers bloomed in his world because Cloud saved Aerith's life. We know that the world Zack is in was made from the original singularity in FF7 Remake, and Zack with Biggs was just pulled into it. Reality is now fractured 2 timelines semi merge, and 2 worlds separate only to reunite again "FF7 CC Reunion." This would make sense also explains why Zack charging the soldiers in FF7 CC Reunion is the exact scene from Remake with the Whispers removed, but the end of CC Reunion is the OG CC end cutscence Furthermore, this lines up with the alternate ending cutscence of Remake that you get for winning the shinra staircase race. Yes, you can win. Although I did it with an accidental glitch on PS4 in my first playthrough. The adrenaline affect remained on Cloud out of battle, so he never got tired 😅 There was even dialog for winning along with certain differences. Such as getting to Hojo's lab before the experiment is actually in a condition that he can release it so Aerith just gets freed and you fight the first and second waves of enemies with her in the squad. Cloud will also turn around before reaching the elevator and make you walk towards Aerith, even calling her name before he faints in front of her, having the jenova vision forced in his head. This cause chapter 17 to begin with Aerith over Cloud, which is neat. It also lets you play as her instead of Tifa for the section where you switch characters via communication systems. However, back on topic, the ending cutscence will not only have Aerith and Zack sense one another, but Cloud and Zack also sense one another with Cloud moving his head in the direction of Zack slightly and Zack seeming very confused as to why he sensed Cloud despite him holding another comatose body of Cloud. Oh, and Aerith doesn't stop to comment on the sky. This explains why the news had the same story in both Zack and Cloud's worlds except for avalanche basically got recked in Zack's world while in the main world the group escaped. In addition to Biggs being in Zack's world. Zack's world is a phantom world created by the singularity. They saved Zack and Biggs from their fate, but reality tried to counter that by creating another reality for them to be in despite that reality being linked to the main one. Yeah, I know stuff is getting trippy classic Square Enix.
@Supersonicblue1027 wow. Finally an explanation of the ending that makes sense. I was wondering the whole time why we saw everything that happened after they fell down, but with a green hue. But i'm still missing something now. Why is cloud missing in the world where aerith is sleeping? Did he just get overwritten with his coma-self? And why does he see all this when he goes to bed? And you can win the staircase race and there are differences then? I never saw anything about that. 🧐 If it's true then it means something imo. There is no way that they just forgot to take it out of the game.

I believe Square will give us both ships at the end of part 3. This universe it may be too late for Aerith and Cloud to be together (star-crossed lovers and all) and may end up with Tifa, but whatever happens in this universe will help create a parallel universe where Cloud and Aerith can be happy as well and we may just get a glimpse of that in part 3. Maybe another universe where Zack can be happy as well. That way all of the ships can be canon, just in different universes. Maybe that was the meaning of beating the whisperers in part 1 to change fate and all this multiverse nonsense.
Respect your opinion but I personally hope they won’t do that. I believe every story should have a conclusive end, an ending that embodies the author’s message to the audience. That’s how a good story goes. A good story writing doesn’t have to please everyone, and in fact, no good story in this world can please everyone. Writing a story based on what the audience wants is seriously lame. I like CloudxAerith, but If they were gonna end with both ships, I’d rather it just cloudxtifa. I know the game has been functioning as a dating game with all the optional events and stuff, but even dating games have a true ending. In dating games, you can date every girl, but canoncally speaking, there’s only one girl in the true ending. It’s just my wishful thinking though. You never know. Maybe the devs care more about making sales than writing a good story. But looking at what I’ve got so far, I still have faith.
The BBC, instead of choosing this song to send to Eurovision when they had a golden opportunity to do so, gambled on Olly Alexander and ended up with nil points from the public vote. Would have loved to see Loren Alldred with this song on the Eurovision stage, especially off the back of FF7 Rebirth's release. Maybe there's an alternate timeline somewhere where it did represent the UK in Malmö (and win). And yes she is American but so was the last UK Eurovision winner
