When I started leveling jobs, I went looking for videos that explained skills and how they worked. A lot of videos skimmed that and just said bare bones info. Then I found your nice long videos that broke down each skill, what it did and how it interacts and that was exactly what I needed! I'm glad you got a chance to join the media tour!

So happy for you mate! That last bit about imposter syndrome hits hard. You do an absolutely amazing job educating and entertaining your audience. I know I'm not alone when I say if it wasn't for your guides I'd have bounced off a lot of the content in this game, from the roles and jobs to the side content and harder stuff. You have such a concise and elegant way of explaining things that gives people the confidence to try things out themselves and succeed. You've put a lot of good out into the world and while it might just be for an online game, your presence in this community is felt far and wide. You should be proud of yourself for all you've done. Hunts despawn after 24h of being alive and go back to their respective respawn timer - A Ranks and S Ranks at least. B Ranks probably as well but they respawn after 15 seconds after the killing blow anyway. Thanks for the Hunts info, much appreciated! Wesk I'm well acquainted with imposter syndrome so I felt for you during this video. All I can say is, you helped me and countless others get into the game and feel comfortable playing many different jobs with your guides. Don't forget that the majority of people who play this wonderful game are casual and need help learning how to actually press their buttons and enjoy the combat. I wouldn't be surprised if you were a huge reason people stuck with their playthroughs because of your hard work and I'm sure the SE comms team thought that too. I don't expect you to be there in the Dawntrail mines smashing out new videos or anything, but please remember that you have helped a ton of people and you deserve to be in the space if you choose. I'm glad that you got invited. I used to send people your way a lot when I was active on Novice Network on behemoth because you had guides that were more immediately useful to sprouts and you were filling a niche nobody else wanted to do at the time. You provided well thought out guides for jobs for the *ENTIRE* leveling process on how the skills work and to give people ideas on how to start formulating rotations and openers. Like no lie a few days ago I sent a friend over to your black mage guide because he was trying to learn it so its just extra nice seeing your content for the media tour.
Just want to say, I'm happy that you were invited and got to the media tour! I watched you back in 2020 when I was still new to the game, I had difficulties grasping the skills and how to build rotation of jobs of the game especially NIN since I just barely hit level 50 at that time. I found your videos and it was immensely helped me to better understand the fundamentals of this game with how you explain the skills from level 1 to the level cap and doing rotations based on every 10 levels after 50. Now I have levelled all my jobs to the max, cleared a few savage tiers on patch, though I still haven't cleared any Ultimate content, I get easily stressed and prone to fumbles mechanics in prolonged continous session, maybe it just wasn't for me lol. But anyway, what I was saying is that what you did truly help me and also a couple of my friends back when we were babies in 2020-2021 lol so thank you!
Thank you for your honesty and vulnerability. I have suffered from a lot of the same negative self-talk you are describing. I have learned that those negative thoughts and harmful self-talk must be fought purposefully and aggressively. Write a list of true, positive things about yourself in your phone--ask others who know you well to tell you about yourself and include those things. Then every time you notice yourself being negative about yourself, thinking hurtful things about yourself, or getting hate from whoever, immediately say to yourself, "NO! The actual truth is X, Y, Z (things from your list)." The more I did this, the more I started being more naturally positive about myself and my self-esteem improved dramatically. Best of luck, Wesk! As a response to the concluding thoughts, I've been working my way through an alt and I've been referring to your guides once again. They're my go-to for smoothing out the levelling experience even as a new expac approaches. Glad to see you're still keeping on, and glad to see it paid off.

1st off I normally don’t write this kind of comment but after hearing your thoughts I was so touched by your words that I have too. I totally understand your feelings unworthiness and thinking that you could never be worth enough to be treated nicely/Never be worth anything to anyone. It’s a hard deep emotional feeling to shake and it just comes whenever it pleases. You just feel like nothing you do is worth it and everyone is just saying they like it, but it’s not good enough to yourself and question everything. One thing that personally helps me in those moments is to remember that if people can love me for who I am as a person and the things I do, then I should care about myself too. I’ve had bad depression and been in holes that feel endless after fighting work burnout and worthlessness. But when I take a deep breath and take some time to think and for reals it can take a bit before I feel better. But It helps me remember everything will be ok and I just gotta do MY best! 😊 I know It sounds cliché like a silly power of friendship moment and tbh it kinda is. but it really is true! I also wanna say you absolutely deserve all of it Wesk! You’re a hero to me and so many other FFXIV Players. Heck I’d never be a good mentor or actually clear P9S & P10S without your guides and video clears! Never let anyone say you’re not worth anything, because you’re worth everything to us! 💚 Keep up the fine work Wesk!

I started FF14 back in late Shadowbringers as an entirely fresh to MMO player. It felt like a massive wall of inscruitible detail, and when I opened the tooltips of my new level 30 PLD, I had absolutely no idea how it fit together. What should I prioritise? Am I doing it right? The avalanche of tooltips had me second-guessing myself constantly. All the guides were for at-level content, flashy skills and concepts that went over my head. Then I found your videos - the 1 to 80 guides. I could have cried. It was exactly what I needed and helped me find my feet. Even now I watch your guides if I pick up a new job, or want a refresher. I know that your videos explain it simply and clearly, but also share a holistic view of where it all fits. I've been keeping up with your other guides, and tuning in for your mentor grind! I just wanted to say thank you for all you've done, and that your invite to the media tour was so well deserved. ❤

I just started playing my NIN again, level 50. I went straight to your guide, read the update info and have been progressing nicely, (lvl 60). Everyone I talk to in my FC and when doing roulettes about learning jobs know about you. Any time I try to recommend it they say they watched your vid before trying to level their alt or even learning their mains rotation! Your guides kill it! We can all tell that you love the game and the community, especially with your comments on how mentors are. God I've run into some terrible ones. But thank you for being a pillar of the community. You're one of the few unproblematic FFXIV creators and one of the few I truly enjoy watching!
I know imposter syndrome can be a bish, but if it helps, know that you once joined me and my friends for thordan unreal pf and I was extremely star struck the whole time. I didn't even get up the courage to say anything, because you are the reason I can confidently play jobs I would have otherwise slept on. Or at least majorly played straight up wrong. You are still the first place i check when leveling a new class, or as a refresher for one I haven't touched in a while. And I will continue to do so in DT!
I started playing in mid Shadowbringers, and while I was going through the msq, I was somewhat concerned I wasn't playing my job (black mage) well. I looked up guides, but every one of them was geared towards lvl 80 content, or was from an older expansion and outdated. I eventually found your thaumaturge/black mage guide, and it was exactly what I needed. While I was leveling other jobs, I always checked your guides for them as well. I can't say I played them all perfectly, but following your advise, I can at least say I played them competently. I'm sure I'm not the only story like this, and because of that, I believe you do deserve to see the others content creators who were there as your peers.

I found your channel from Xenosys watching your video about Heavensward. It's great to find veteran xiv players and hearing their perspectives on the game. I've played since 1.x beta but it I wasn't paying as much attention as you or other veteran youtubers. I'm really happy that you got the media tour invite. Sub'd and excited to see your perspective on Dawntrail and beyond. Sidenote, couldn't disagree more with your AST take in the other video. I'm so against those old niche cards, and the rng of ranged vs melee was fun. No RNG at all is a bad call and I hope they reverse it in the next expansion. Also, still mad about no viera / hroth headpieces AAAAND no ramuh / shiva / leviathan summons - that's dumb. Happy to be a new subscriber :)
after i jumped into the game before endwalker, i had to figure out how to play my job, then endwalker came out and my job had received a massive rework, your guides were a godsend. After that whenever i was leveling a new job you were my go to source for information. So I can comfortably say that your channel made a huge difference to my enjoyment of the game
The first thing that went through my head when I saw you had gone on the media tour was “thank the twelve, maybe that means we’ll get level one through 100 job guides quicker.“ Lol. Seriously, imposter syndrome is a thing and you will probably always have it, but I beg you not to let it cripple you from doing something that really helps a lot of people. Like me. I watch a lot of Final Fantasy 14 content on RU-vid, but yours is the most useful there is. Thank you for all you do.
Your guide videos were definitely helpful to me, especially with Reaper and Sage. I don't know why but getting those to click in my head just from reading the tooltips simply wouldn't work. Those videos were very helpful. Now, while I know not to say something so foolish as calling myself one of the best, I can call myself well rounded enough to use just about any job effectively, if not optimally, and that's in large part thanks to your guides.
Hey wesk! Been watching since just before endwalkers launch when i really started to dig my teeth into the game and only just subbed (mostly because of the ending bit) When i started I didn't really know what i was doing. I'm a black mage main whos been doing it since starting thaumaturge and i remember using fire 2 for everything on stone vigil because "Its final fantasy and its fira, it has to be better than fire 1 all the time" Now im at the point where i did all 3 panda tiers while they were current, I've progged ultimates on black mage, every high end fight I've progged in fact apart from anabaesios was on black mage. And that all started with *you* and your guides. Youre the one that not only taught me to play it but your video got me thinking about how to figure out jobs on my own. Like you said, words on a screen dont feel quite as real but your videos have made a huge impact and have made learning this game easirr for many people! I always knew when i was leveling a job to 90 i could rely on your vids! Thank you for all your hard work!

A bit late, but for FOMO limitations: Possibly doing "waves" of restoration. Every month or so, a new group of people can start the Garlemald restoration together. A mix of Ishgard & Doma Enclave.
Honestly it got me a little emotional hearing you talk about imposter syndrome and realizing that you havent been wasting your time. I started playing 3 years ago and I always open your guides whenever I want to start levelling a new job, because you do such a good job explaining it. You going to the media tour was completely deserved and don't let anyone say otherwise, not even your brain. Your content helped countless people and continues to do so, be it in game with your very concise guides or even outside of it with just confort content in general.
As for limiting who can be a mentor, it might be an idea to use the blacklist function. If a player has been blacklisted excessively, that probably means they aren’t suited to be a mentor. (There could maybe be an appeals process, or it could be only temporary, but I think using what are essentially negative reviews in addition to the “positive reviews” of commendations could work)
Hell yeah wesk, glad you got invited and glad you enjoyed it! You might have a bit of a rough spot in your mind, but thats okay.
