I never thought that FFXIV was going to affect me as much as Heavensward did, but I've been an emotional mess anxiously waiting for the next patch because of ShB, this is the first time I've been able to stick with this game. I honestly cannot wait to see how this storyline progresses.

​@@krishnahemminger Heavensward was super shocking in how much we lost right before the expansion and the even greater loss we suffered during the expansion. It was a personal journey for us, the Warrior of Light, to restore our place in the world and save our new, temporary home in Ishgard. Stormblood was weirdly impersonal. We fought for Doma, Ala Mhigo, Lyse, Hien and even for Yotsuyu. But we were just a tool for the countries to free themselves from the Garlean occupation. We were treated as a weapon, not as a person. (The only one who was really interested in us as a person was Zenos, funnily enough.) Shadowbringers was a VERY personal journey again. Everything was about us. If the Crystal Exarch didn't yoink us into the First, we would have died during the next calamity. We are Eorzea's hope. We have to be saved at all costs. We are also the only ones who can save the First. We have a special connection to Ardbert. Our soul was part of a being that was important to Emet Selch. Ardbert perfectly captured it: "This is our future. Our story." Our blank slate character got a background story and as close to a character arc as you can get. This is why it felt so personal and impactful. I love Shadowbringers so much. And I hope that we continue to get personal stories like Heavensward and Shadowbringers.

@@MelvaCross I have to agree with you on all counts. However, I didn't mind helping out Doma because I felt a connection there. We gave homes and jobs to refugees from Doma who became close friends and saved us at times. But everything to do with Ala Mhigo up to the start of Stormblood, on the other hand, made me not want to help them. Plus getting treated like a weapon from them specifically and being used felt increasingly bad as you played through that part of the story. Unfortunately, the SM story is still going for all intents and purposes. The story released during 5.2 and 5.25 kinda leaves a sour taste in my mouth as I am not looking forward to dealing with Garleans again.

meanwhile i cant read quest cause it sucks how its presented, that baloon and the tiny letters, i love everything about ff xiv, not that tho, i fucking hate it, i finished ARR without even knowing wtf was going on, had to watch youtube videos about it and also about the classes, i have no idea what happent on the stories, and well, i read every single quest in wow back when i used to play, even eso, the last mmo i played a few months back, ff xiv is the only one i simply cannot read the god damn quests, unless its VA i have zero clue xD

It's amazing how differently I feel towards the XIV team compared to even the rest of Square Enix, let alone other companies that have been letting me down lately. These days, even if I get excited for a game, it's hardly ever more than cautious optimism. But XIV's team brings the hype!

The Eden questline seems to imply that she won't come to the source.

Idk if she's 8 times rejoined. It seemed to be that Minfilia's power was simply reincarnation. So the other "Minfilia's" were not shards of herself.
