@@karakizan Red Orchestra: Ostfront also suffers from that. All the guns kick a lot, even the ones that are known to be very controllable like the MP-40 smg. Probably both games are like that for gameplay balance as in both the guns deal a lot of damage per shot, there's not health regen.

The nostalgia! I remember first seeing the fg 42 in level 5 of cod waw. I just loved the sound and style of the gun. I even made a Lego model of the fg 42.

This is how reload animations work in games, its smoke and mirrors. Move the magazine offscreen so you can't see it, move it around while out of sight, make it reappear as if its being pulled out of a pocket and reinserted. Usually only ever one model of a magazine (unless you have tactical reloads and stuff).

BoximusPrime 10 I was mediocre at best in CoD WaW, but I remember tearing MP40 users with my Tommy Gun like there was no tomorrow. My assault loadout was: Tommy gun, Drum mag, TT-30 Sidearm and good ol' frag grenades. Perks: Bandolier, Stopping Power and Steady Aim. Vehicle perk was situational, but I switched between Ordnance training and Water Cooler.

Hearing it fire from a distance by enemies is very awesome indeed, that echoing BOOM BOOM BOOM is chilling!
