Tiny note: MHXX doesn't have a star absorb up, she has a star absorb down. A 100% star absorb down, to be precise. It's ill-advised to use her S2 unless you already have 30+ stars.

it's funny how the star absorb down actually gets STRONGER as you rank up the skill (50% at rank 1 to 100% at rank 10), which makes it worse. You'd think it would be the other way around
As a proud NP5 MHXX haver, I cannot understate how ridiculously powerful she is against Sabers, at this point i bring her to fight Sabers instead of all of my archers because alongside anti-saber command codes she is just unstoppable. . . . . And her Final Ascension is a gift from God
The issue with MHXX is that her big unga bunga damage is only her NP, which is an issue since she doesn't have a good refund (maybe with double Castoria she can refund well but idk, gacha is gacha). That's why I'm gonna stick with the Jane + MHX combo tbh, both X and XX are NP1 so the NP damage difference isn't that big. Whenever I finally get Castoria I'll try double Castoria XX out.
As someone who just hit bond 15 with Summer Marie and has her at lv100 i have agree with what you said about her. She has aged poorly and honestly she needs more than one buff to be more than just filling space.
She is a decent support for very specific Servants, like Saber Lancelot, but yeah, characters like Hans tend to outperform her in every metric, although her invul can be really good in certain battles since it has no turn limit which is the only advantage over other units she has.
Hope she gets her NP upgrade at least, can't go wrong with that. Skill-wise it'll be hard to make her a viable offensive sidegrade to CasGil or Hans. Though I wish Marie did more damage in general, it might suit her to double down on the defensive aspect. Or something like debuffing more. Or a goddamn flood of stars. Kira Queen's presence must be felt :(
I was originally sweating a little because of Artoria archer, but after checking to see if she had any other banners, I'm just going to wait for next year's banner since it also has Mordred and Kiyohime
Bunnytoria is someone I use mostly as a pseudo support for another unit who really wants a crit turn. My main comp with her is pairing her with Himiko for stars, Buster up and crit up, and Maou Nobu to blow shit up with obscenely powerful face cards. A surprisingly fun comp, but mostly used for fun rather than because it's actually good.
I use a team of Demon Nobu, Nobukatsu and Himiko which guarantees 30+ stars for three turns and massive damage for Nobunaga. I have a plugsuit with Merlin and as of late, Koyanskaya waiting to give the Demon King an extra boost.
Marie is one of my favorite characters in this game, and it's kind of sad that her summer version has nothing going for her on top being a summer character, when so many others in the same category have amazing gameplay capabilities. We're probably never going to see Black Marie from Erice event either.
Tiny note: when you bring lancer raikou for buffing your buster dps AND REMOVING their debuffs, the debuff cleanse happens after the 40% is given. Not much relevant thing to note about tho, but you'll feel it when the enemy starts the fight with buff block like that cq from recent nerofest rerun. Top tier support imo I brought her in most of cq runs with a taunt ce
I have Summer Musashi (NP4), Summer Kama (NP2) and Summer Ibuki (NP2) I still use Summer Musashi for 3-turn stable farming despite not having no self NP charge Worst case I have to plugsuit Waver / Summer Skadi / Konyanskaya of Light if the event CE has no starting NP charge
It is tempting to roll for np4 or 5 summer melt since mine is still np3 but im gonna wait for her next rate up since i'm aiming for np2 or higher summer kama with not allot of sq lmao.
Funny that I was planning on getting Archer Artoria for the next year rerun, but I pulled her from the start dash banner, so I'm seeing if I can get Summer Musashi, Ruler Lartoria, and Maid Salter before Summer 6.
What an absolute wonderful thing to happen at the worst possible time. I had some real life stuff happen during that week and didn't realize the 24 hrs we were given to role for the past banners till like the 27th? Big Oof. Ah well...at least I'm saving for later, right? Constantly caught between Yolo and saving.
Summer 1 is like the only one that I'd go for personally. Back when my luck was absolute dogwater in this game they gave me Summer Tama and *no one else* the entire first run. On the rerun they gave me *another summer Tama* and a Marie, at that point I knew they just wanted me to fuck off.
Relatable. I got NP1 summer Mordred and NP1 lancer Tama in the first run. During the rerun I tried to get extra copies of summer Mordred but somehow got NP5 lancer Tama instead, Enkidu, and Arjuna with no copies of summer Mordred. Quite possibly the worst good luck ever. This banner not having her again hurts even more.
I might spend some quartz on getting NP2 or more for Carmilla, Meltryllis and/or Musashi. I was unlucky during last year's re-run. I was also unlucky for both Summer Camp rolls, so maybe I should save all the SQs I can get. Edit: One week later. I bombed out with the reruns and this year's banner feat Okita and crew. If I fail with the Kama banner, I'm boned. Edit 2: I got nothing. Stupida game.
I have np2 of the first three banner 5 stars (mostly because I didn't expect reruns) but summer tamamo / summer artoria are pretty tempting. Getting np2 melusine is good enough reason to not go for tamamo and I think I can live without archer artoria, especially with the cheaper but still good summer anastasia coming soon. Honestly I was hoping for summer ushi to rerun because np1 of her just sucks and her mentor is much better for damage but isn't as cute.
I already got np 4 musashi and bb. Np 1 maid ans tamamo and not needing bunny or archer saber so im good. Heck even skipping summer as i just remembered ranmaru exists for my space ishtar replacement. She's meh but Oberon can fix that The quarts and apples however sign me up for them. Just don't throw an early ereshkigal banner na im almost at pity
I've been pretty lucky with summer Servants since making a new account in October. I already have summers Tamamo and BB from singles and just got Squirtle from that year one GSSR. I'll see if there's any other summer GSSRs I can get with singles.

This is going to be fk up,i was saving for kama but I dunno if I can survive not rolling here because Musashi. I wanted a rerun of Nitocris Summer so i could up her NP some more but this is still a win for other girls i missed out on. Summer melt on a banner by herself is a must roll for me.
Willpower broke, Spent 200 SQs got Musashi and couple of osakabehime I don't regret it, just need Melt and I'm happy for this banner run. Going to be a little short for Kama 😂
my og plan was S.Kama but after thsi banner I evaluate my plan and decided to roll on S.Melt and S.Artoria instead, I love S.Kama design but to bad we couldn't get the blue version of her as a skin and my Muramasa still not bond 15 yet so I don't think I'm going to use her much anyway if I get her(not even say about S.Ibuki next year), but S.Melt and S.Artoria? I'm going to use a of of both of them for sure and this banner have a bunch of old summer CE that I still missed so this banner worth a lot more for me. so I'm going to roll on this rerun banner and hope I can get Muramasa's CE from the male summer banner, already got a copy of Bunnytoria, and S.Melt(NP3) and somehow got a copy of Jean within 30 pulls, hope I can get atleast a copy of Squirtoria and S.Martha.
A whole lot of "bait" banners and when I say bait it doesn't mean bad just a banner before what is really going to drain people If I gotta order it by strength in my opinion and not character likability. I go saber archer musashi zerk. Summer bb tamamo lancer maid and bunnytoria tied for last. Saber archer is definitely the best for some boss situation while musashi zerk while mid(I have her np 4 she can't do half the work space Ishtar can do so I can say that) she still can be useful to people (if they don't want to wait a year for SIbuki who is better) Bb summer has mhxx and her on it so you can round out your account and help prelb 6 players as well as both are decent at taking down fakers and avengers. Maid bunny and tamamo lancer can be skipped they got no use themselves unless you want melt lancer in which case go crazy.
bunny is more valuable than anyone here , BB is arguable i would say , the fact she is aoe and a ruler with a good kit put her above any st , the fact she can farm 90+ nodes put her above any aoe who cant wich is musashi case in 1/2 x x and x 1/2 x , especially when she is able to do so with or without oberon/bb , she can 6 slot very consistently some nodes too , she was my main farmer during nero fest
How often are surprise banners available for us to pull on? And is there a pattern for their appearance or some kind of correlation with the season like; summer- summer themed servants. And lastly, is it worth saving for banners like these? Im sorry if these questions might seem obvious, im new to fgo and i don't know much yet. Thanks in advance.
I currently have around 600 sq and im really tempted to try and get someone but I want to save for summer Sei and Kama. Maybe I'll drop 2 multis or smth on a banner, I dont want to have less than 500 sq for summer 6
Decided to throw 10 tickets to try and get additional copies of Lancer Melt, ended up with Bunnytoria. She's new for me, so I can't complain, especially with how little I threw into her. Debating if I want to try and get a copy of Squirtoria, but I think I'll just save the rest for Summer Okitan.
The bait won't work on me since I have everyone but Helena and Marie, I'm not too interested in them in in the first place. I won't lie though, this would've worked if Summer Jeanne was there cause I still want her because her second ascension so pretty.

Doing pretty well for a fairly new account Considering you have Castoria, summer Kama could be pretty useful for you, and since you didn't mention having Skadi or Van Gogh, I'd prioritise Kama over Douman
I think you are better off rolling for support that can help your Gong or your Morgan. Summer Kama and (depending if NA decided to rerun her early) Space Ishtar are good Art farmers but they will be eventually outclassed next Summer.
Wait for Summer Ibuki because from my experience you can farm most event with Grailed Gong if you have Castoria and Oberon but if you don't like Summer Ibuki then Summer Kama or Space Isthar is your next best option just don't go for Zerk Musashi because no having battery will haunt you when you farm 90+ and 90++
I hear Summer Kama numbers can get low if she misses her charm. I haven't done the maths myself tho But then again it's prolly something that won't happen much. Maybe

Why does Summer Tama always pair up with one of the worse Summer Servants that is ALSO the same class? Seriously Lasenga knows what they are doing. Its such an evil bait.
As a new player, if you care about gameplay/meta, you should always save for Castoria first If you already have her or already have enough sq to guarantee her, then you can consider other stuff
As Alejandro stated, meta reasons you should likely save for other banners like Summer 6. Waifu reasons, roll for who you love. What makes these banners hard for me is I love the characters: - Summer Musashi, 'cause I failed to get Saber Musashi. Getting her to NP2 is a bonus. - Summer Melt, 'cause I missed getting Melt. Getting her to NP2 is a bonus. - Ruler Altria, cause of 2 big reasons.
Summer Marie is just plain meh even in her intended role. I still am salty about her to this day because she chose to come home over Summer Martha 3 years ago. At the very least, she's another body I could throw against the alien spider come LB7 and not particularly cry about.
If only they had Ibaraki-Douji on rate up as well, I would've been tempted to get my NP5. Other than that, this is a pass since we also get another summer rerun pre-7th anniv
