You neglected to mention that Barg would generally perform better on her own than in a team environment. Being able to get 4k healing per turn and very likely preventing the enemy from having any buffs other than boxed ones is a huge boon and not something you can do nearly as easily with other servants around
Given her lore getting romantically involved with her is basically a death sentence. But as they say: I'm here for a good time, not a long time. If I gotta die then death by snu snu it is! Got 1 copy of her on Morgan's banner, hope to get a few more on Oberon's. Definitely grailing her to 100 when I get a few more grails to spare.
I personally am going for the ultimate bargeko, NP5, All appends, All command codes maxed out and Lvl 120. One of the downsides of the coin system. 4 stars are so shafted. only able to get 50 servant coins or worse 30 coins if you have the disprivilege of being a permanent 4 star. 5 stars while the rares are just unfortunately the easiest to achieve the goals above while 4 stars are the awkward child in between
Considering that she's only outlasted by Melusine among the high ranked Fae Knights in the story and in the story she only loses herself out of despair and horror of reality around her in the end, it's given that her durability is insane. What makes her unique is that her tankiness is hard to get by without using an NP on her because her durability is nothing to scoff at. - Lack of hard defense like Guts (which OG Gawain has), Evade or Invincibility isn't too good for a tank but her ability to heal on every non-NP hit is strong and with CCs, she can last for a very long time. With how long her second skill lasts, this is a godsent for her in solo battles such as Grail Fronts where she's basically like Super Orion for how stupidly hard she can be to put down if she's built properly even at a class disadvantage. - Buff Removal + Defense Down on her S2's other effect on an enemy with a removable buff makes up for her low attacking stats, though that's only if the enemy tries to buff themselves. Keep in mind that she has a weaker version of Gawain's S1 but her NP gives her an Buster Buff based on Overcharge, meaning that her damage scaling can rival if not barely surpass OG Gawain (her idol). - Ok NP Gain but not that high as one would want on top of not having an instant NP Battery is kind of scary for a Buster Deck but her S3 has a good steady +15% NP charge at the end of your turn for 3 turns which kind of makes up for it. To put it into perspective, by T3 after casting it, she gained a passive +30% NP Battery, which is pretty good. S3 also gives her a 3 hit Damage Cut which could be better but at least it helps her last longer. - Her Noble Phantasm, on top of the Buster Buff, increases her max HP for a few turns and decreases the CD of all skills by one turn. If her skill CDs were ANY lower than what they were at max rank, this would be stupidly good...albeit a triple Buster deck makes it hard to use at times. Barghest is a solid A Tier Servant even if most of that comes from solo'ing and I'd say she's a solid 'wants to be a S(+) Tier' waifu in her own terms. She just has a very hard time because of who she really is, what she's destined to become yet wishes to defy that destiny, and unlike OG Gawain, she can actually COOK for what it's worth and the only flaw there is that she makes too much good food.
I love how her kit is designed. I imagine her biting off chunks of the enemy in her attacks. And the defense down she causes is similar to the legend of how a barghest would inflict wounds that never heal.
I remember years back when lbs trailer first came. Back then people obsessed with melusine( they don't know her name yet). But I was the one pointing out a girl behind her with big badoonkers. Point is, I like barghest first before it was cool
She's legit one of the most fun servants to use, she's good as an anchor or a starter unit that just sticks to the field and provides some buff for your allies and removes buffs to enemies, all the while healing like crazy
Fae Round Table in a Nutshell A Dog that at her weakest state was equal to Gawain with Numeral of the Saint at Night time A Vampire who's NP can injure said someone as tanky as the Black Dog, while said Black Dog face tanked a Tristan's NP with no Damage A Primordial Dragon that made even Fafnir into a Joke despite only being a corpse of the original thing Really a shame that Morgan only picked 3 and not the same as the amount of Playable ones Artoria has
There's more to winning than using sheer quantity. Morgan picked quality over quantity for her personal Fae Knights. Melusine being only truly hard-countered by LB Percival (PHH Percival should be able to do the same unless there are differences somehow) and Barghest being able to crush any Fae and humans weaker than her all while having the ability to gain most if not all abilities of those she consumed (she'd preferably not want the 'must consume' trait of hers in regards to other living beings she has feelings towards) which ended up resulting with Mash temporarily summoning PHH Gawain and Lancelot for the battle. In Morgan's case, due to picking at least TWO Calamities, she could essentially bulldoze the Camelot Singularity on her own by having Barghest and Melusine go to town on the Knights (given that Percival and Gareth were already killed prior to Chaldea arriving). If she had to take action, Morgan herself could take the fight to Rhongomyniad.
She's actually excellent for Black Grail. Her second skill, even at level one, can out heal the 500 damage per turn done by Black Grail and her third skill can raise her survival chance by decreasing the damage taken from enemies. Don't let her low attack stat fool you, she punches well above her weight class.
I want to be both types of men. I'm into the muscles, and I want to be carried by a strong woman. I didn't get her this time, but still love muscle mommy.
Here’s the thing barghest likes to fight alone and against strong enemies, when she is alone in a challenge quest and the enemy is spamming buffs on themselves it a full course meal for her, debuffing her enemy, healing herself, defense down on enemy, I was fighting Spartacus in Nerofest and he just spammed multiple health regents a turn, she negated them, healed herself and by the 3rd consecutive turn of stacking defense down her brave chain was doing looney toons damage,
Got her at np4 trying to get Morgan. Decided to grail her for being the one to answer the call the most and since Morgan never came. She actually makes me excited for grail fronts now
The curious case where I was only aiming for the queen and the princess, and got only 1 copy of each. Meanwhile, the loyal knight spooked me *4 times in a row, almost all on the same 11 Summon.* I guess that's a hint for me to not neglect the most loyal knight to Morgan. Her NP will sure hit hard! Also, _I liked how you described that Barghest's stat are geared more towards defense._ 😏 Because if memory serves me right, Gawain's stats are more geared towards offense. _He specializes in dishing damage._ _She specializes in _*_taking_*_ damage._ *Oh yes.* *Theirs will be a looong night.*
It's ironic more than anything. Camelot Gawain as well Gawain's return in the S.E.RA.P.H Main Interlude was heavily noted to be super durable if anything. In Camelot, he tanked Goddess Rhongomyniad's NP in a place where, Gawain noted, his blessing was nullified which would have allowed Tristain's NP to kill him. In S.E.RA.P.H., he was only heavily worn down from fighting Passionlip and he recovered very quickly once the battle against her was over, much to Melt and Robin Hood's surprise with Robin noting that he didn't expect Gawain to be THAT tanky and resilient. The legacy that made Gawain annoying was that as a boss, his blessing (which weakens per battle) made him stupidly hard to kill without using certain Servants. As playable Servants, Gawain inherited the raw power while Barghest inherited the fact that 'Gawain is stupidly hard to defeat'.
She's definitely a Servnt, that i'll eventually want to get. But my current focus is on Perceval, because i'm a sucker for shining knights in shining armour on shining horses. :D Also he kinda fills the same niche of being a tank, although he's a bit more compatible with a full team than Barghest. He still looks like an amazing solo servant though. But generally, i like her design.

I already had a good feeling about her but now that I've got her and that I've played plenty with her, I can say that I'm absolutely IN LOVE! Love her gameplay, lover her lore, love her design. Current she's NP3 Lv.100, but if I manage to get her NP5 on Oberon's banner, you bet your ass I'll make her the ultimate muscle mommy Lv.120, 2000 fou, append skills, card upgrade and all ❤
I thought about ways to buff her, and I came up with something that could massively help most solo servants. A “Solo Servant” support that grants a variety of buffs and can either remove there cards from the deck, or lock other servant cards in the deck. That way they get the use out of using their own deck, and have a bit extra then their own buffs.
@@muchluck7981 my idea was you pick a servant and whatever cards they have in the deck stay for 3 turns. So if it’s 3 cards those 3 cards are guaranteed to appear again. But the other not locked cards can be either the teammates or more of the picked servants. They just aren’t guaranteed to reappear.
@@sibsart2039 That sounds nice, but more than likely it would be easier to just have a servant be selected and only their 5 cards appear. it makes it easier to focus on the solo niche. But your idea is also a good thing. It allows for brave chains that can be formed if you want arts brave chains or quick brave chains. But in practice, with mighty chains coming to FGO NA, it would be easier to just lock a Buster, Quick and arts chains for the best result
Secret good support with her is Tamamo. The NP drain/NP damage up works to cover Barghest's weakness against NPs and her NP lowers cooldowns even more, which just snowballs if you've got another team NP gain servant.
Some other CEs I recommend for Barghest is Iron-Willed Trainer and Gentle Affection. They can make Barghest more self sufficient with Iron-Willed Trainer increasing her defense and Gentle Affection increasing healing effectiveness. These are also 4 Star CEs in the general pool
Rolled for Morgan and Barghest... took NP5 Fae Tristan before I got a Barghest... then I hit NP7 Fae Tristan and NP5 Barghest before I got 1 Morgan. I'll take it though, 450 kinda hurt but surely Koyan won't be so elusive right :))))))))
I rolled on this banner specifically to NP5 Barghest and I gotta say, desire sense is real, especially when you're gunning for one of the 4*s on the banner lol. I spent a little over 1000 quartz and somehow ended up getting NP4 Morgan, NP3 Baobahn Sith, and NP3 Barghest, as well as an Ozy spook. For the record I was completely fine with getting NP1 Morgan or maybe even NP2 but I was completely blindsided by how many copies of her I got. Barghest on the other hand, did not come so easily and it was quite the slog just getting her to NP3. I guess the gacha just works in mysterious ways like that. I am still incredibly pleased with the results of my rolls at the end of the day though. I honestly felt like I used up 2 years of luck on this banner alone. =)
Yet another one I NP5'd on my Morgan pulls (queen was a very damn expensive NP2). Fitting her in my teams is a bit harder, since I am absolutely loaded with powerful sabers, but at least her kit seems like it should absolutely kick ass in grail fronts.
Funny you mentioned longer battle meta cause that's pretty much where fgo is heading as of right now on NA and is very much the case of where JP is at right now. Farming nodes are still quick and easy but FGO has been going very hard where even with meta breaking servants story and challenge quests are shifting to longer battles that will require servants like Barghest, passionlip, kingprotea, Merlin, and Mash just to name a few in lasting the long run especially in battles where those who think Oberon solves all their problems are going to be in for a rude awakening with how some of those 90++ nodes are set up and how some of the story battles such as lost belt 7 or even the call ordeal 1 story are really going to test your ability to survive and make use of servants you thought you were not going to use anymore because of the farming and meta shifting aspect we've been getting overly reliant on. So yeah while Barghest definitely needs an upgrade if some kind and she definitely deserves it, even without it investing in her definitely shows it's more than worth it in the long run
Obligatory Solo comment aside, when mighty chains get introduced she gets even more absurd. It makes her able to spam her noble phantasm even with the gorilla deck. Heck, the healing CE we get free with the upcoming Halloween reruns make her even more unkillable. Pretty sure someone did the full power Kiara fight and the doggo soloed her with mighty chains so there’s also that
I have her at Level 100 with 1000 FOU ATK, and she's monstrously powerful in fields w/ Sunlight even when fighting against neutral enemies she has no class advantage against despite being just a 4-Star Servant. She's 10x more powerful than the original Gawain! (which is accurate in-lore since Tam Lin-equivalents of the Knights of the Round Table are more powerful than their OG Counterparts). I totally understand the below-average ATK stat she has because if she has even more than that, she should be a 5-Star Rarity already. The reason for this is her SKILLS alone gives so much value, particularly her 2nd skill is almost BROKEN in the right situations, and she's even more extremely dangerous when she's the only Servant left on the field. Plus, if you grail her, the below-average ATK Stat she has is no longer a problem. Oh, and did I mention she's absolutely gorgeous? And she also has quiet the adorable side and is a Gawain SIMP, to boot! Totally worth it!
i like using like a lady on her, since the mighty chains are a thing, doing this with her to loop her np is really good, and increases healing too, and if you want to go full heal mode, maid in halloween is also good since if she is solo, she WILL outlast the enemy by having even more hp and healing
I got my first copy of her just an hour ago. It sucks that her better damage potential won't be seen until I get another copy, but I don't wanna press my luck too much. If she had a solo rate up I'd go all in for her.
used the the free 30 SQ on my monthly log in (which was on my birthday) and got her at np1. been saving everything for her for 6 months and got her to level 100, 10/10/10 1k fous at once
Rolled on Morgan's banner for Barghest. Got Morgan first. Rolled on Oberon's banner for Baobahn. Got 3 more copies of Barghest and 2 for Oberon. Still no Baobahn. At least I got Percival.
If i want a good solo/survivable servant for bosses or to have on the back if everything goes to shit is it better to invest on my np5 barghest or my np1 taira
I got barghest from Morgan's banner and I'm pleased to have her. I do kinda wish her skill 1 was stronger or a unique variant similar to how fae Tristan has her take on harp of healing. Oh well barghest in my opinion is damn strong but expensive to get there. Def worth it
Something to note is that Barghest really cares about her skill CDs (at least S2 and S3), they should be 10 if only for the principle of their uptime being far higher than otherwise. Otherwise, while she doesn't perform poorly with teammates she's ultimately probably top 3 best solo servants in the game (at least, those that can conceivably survive a long time and still dish out good damage), her self-sufficiency is almost unparalleled and only falls short to some truly heinous enemy NPs that push for the utmost damage. Very unique, gimmicky but very cohesively done servant, if I wasn't strapped for CQs for Koyan I'd definitely have gone for her (and even then she shows up with Oberon again so there's that small hope).
I will never forgive NA for that tam lin translation. I honestly hope jp releases the actual tam lin just see what they will do. But I do hope to get muscle mommy. Got her 2 np2 or 3 on jp and does wonders
About 300sq Morgan seriously hate me 1-2 card as Berserker pop in my pull and no sign at all, only Barghest answer 2 ea. I still dont know how to make her work on my roster. Have to try her someday, I only have 2-3 Stall team setup.
I got her np1 on the 30 free quarts they gave us then while rolling more on that banner on one multi I got her np2 and np3 and here I was going use the nest sr ticket on her but the muscle wife came home and I immediately grailed her to 90 so now I can use that ticket on Sith cause Morgan is np2 and Barghest is np3 but not a single sith with 250$ into that banner.
