Thanks much for your effort and time. I was looking to purchase these before cooling season but will hold off now until bugs addressed and temp limit you described. Again thanks.

Try using Deoxit products on the contacts. Ive gotten damaged relays on other products working until I could get the replacement part using Deoxit DN5. It’s a great product that’s been around for a long time and used by electronic techs.

I think i'll go another summer with my stub gauges and SMAN; definitely gonna wait till they work the bugs out of the app before I invest in a wireless probe set-up.

Based on their app and their limiting the calculations to a specific range (I mean come on, let the app do the calculations without limits), plus the issue of not retaining entered info, I’ll wait and see if Testo releases newer long range probes. A good technician can use these out of their “intended” ranges and decipher the info as they need to, such as a reach in or walk in cooler. But not when they limit the calculations and go dumb after you go below or above certain temps. FP needs to hear your concerns and get to working on bugs. Good honest review, as always.

I’m on Apple iPhone and have had the white screen many times, also have had the app not calculate SH again you have to start the app over. Frustrating to say the least. The app needs attention.

Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C See, a FP affiliate keeps telling me it's just Android but I was almost positive you were having similar issues with Apple. I'll let him know. Thanks buddy!

HVAC in SC I’ve been talking to them also. I’ve had the white screen and no way to clear it other than deleting it and re install. Yesterday they worked fine with no issues.

I've found that it is necessary to make sure I select refrigerant type, if not it won't read Saturation nor SC, SH

gary gipson the app is improved since this video was made, also using these probes with the measureQuick app is amazing.

Great review.... just wondering how you like the field piece leak detectors or do you recommend a different one. Thanks.

Danny L Thanks! The FP leak detectors work well from my experience. I personally prefer the TUG and Bacharach leak detectors though.

Do you use the JL2? If so have you had any connectivity issues? It seems every time I try using the wireless probes and I want to do an efficiency test with my sc660 using the JL2 it seems to disconnect my probes or it won't connect to the JL2.

HVAC in SC they are, we (the beta testers) have brought up quite a list of issues/improvements needed... we’ve also been pushing hard for compatibility with measurequick...
@HVACinSC
@HVACinSC 6 лет назад
Hvac Tools With Daniel It's a bit concerning if you (the beta testers) found many of these same exact issues yet the manufacture insisted on releasing a product before adressing said issues. Also it seems from the outside looking in that many of you didn't want to or chose not to acknowledge any issues what so ever with the product in public, even after release when beta testing is complete. Perhaps a fear of possibly not being able to test tools for them in the future Im guessing is the reason. I guess it makes since now why none of the beta testers would post any videos of the product aside from its amazing range and saying how exceptional the product was. Even after beta testing was complete and the tool was available for public purchase.

HVAC in SC there is ongoing testing being done, more app features... some fixes caused other issues in the app. Is it perfect? No. Nothing is.
@HVACinSC
@HVACinSC 6 лет назад
Hvac Tools With Daniel Of course and minor thigs and quirks are expected. Unfortunately in some instances the app and tools are simply not useable. Heating mode is a perfect example. Now whenever the "new air probes" come out we can add a few hundred $$ to the kit cost.

I believe those temp/humidity are comparable to the testo 605i's. To get the higher temp rating you have to use the 905i. I may be wrong on that. The app is the deal breaker on these for me. That and I haven't seen the components sold seperately yet. Nice review thanks.
@HVACinSC
@HVACinSC 6 лет назад
bill j The Testo 605i goes well above 130. All of our techs use them in the field. To my knowledge Fieldpiece only comes in 2 different kit options currently. (With and without the air probes) Thanks for watching.

I may have 2 bad ones then. Mine only go up to about 135°F and shut down. Won't come back online until they've been at room temp for a while. I never timed them so not sure how long it takes. According to the spec sheet on trutech -4 to +140 °F (-20 to +60 °C) is the temp range. Maybe older vs newer probes not sure.
@HVACinSC

bill j My mistake. You are correct. 605i max temp is 140. Too many different tools around here. lol!

the testo sliders are complete garbage that is the piece that breaks first. be glad they have the rubbers. Take them off in your van.
@wasup23tube

The reason the heat doesn't go that high is because there is no moisture psychrometerics with heating air. You are fine with using a simple thermocouple for the supply.

It isn't possible for a bluetooth product to store information while not in foreground, it is an issue with the actual limitations of the software in a phone, not the product.
