I had three problems with my field piece 460 same type you have and fieldpiece helped me at no charge. They are the most professional and helpful manufacture I’ve ever dealt with. Always call Fieldpiece they got your back .
I sold my SMAN460 to a guy I used to work with and bought the new 480V; they fixed all the issues I had with the 460's....beefed-up the hook, made it more water resistant, moved the thermocouple plugs to the rear AND added an ODDB sensor. Really happy with my new SMAN....the app is nice for being able to see pressures when you're fooling with the TXV inside AND being able to screen cap and save the Pressures/Temps/etc on my phone to refer back to later.
Sounds like they made some good improvements on the 480. I was really happy with the 460s, only other issue I had was the low side was reading in a vacuum everytime I powered them up but it turned out the firmware had to be updated and FIELDPIECE was able to give me the instructions over the phone.
Nice, I should have tried that. I used a duct strap to hold them together once they cracked but that didn’t keep it from getting worse. Once it broke completely wires plugged off the circuit board and I figured best to send them in.
I have an SMAN4 that has a single wire detached from the circuit board. Is there any way you could send me a photo of the circuit board from your gauge set so I could see where the wire goes? Please and thank you!
I'll have to check that video out, I sent these back to fieldpiece for repair. They charge a flat repair fee of $275 and I had to pay for shipping. Kind of pricey but I would like to see how their repair process works.
Same happened to me By my mistake But fieldpiece replced to reconditioned one( looks new) no questions asked. Im highlt recommend fieldpiece tools I always buy fieldpiece tools
From what I heard, the older plastic on the SMANs eventually got weakened by the refrigerant oil and that's why so many of them cracked in that spot. I never had it happen....mainly because my hooks would always break off and I'd send them in for 'repair' about once a year or so - and just get a new set sent to me.
I think that’s what they ended up doing. I sent them in around the second week of July. I just got an email from FIELDPIECE, they sent them back last week but I haven’t gotten them yet.
@@scrambler350 the hook didn’t last to long so From what your saying it sounds like a common issues with these. Hopefully I have better luck with that this time.
Yeah got them back, took about 7 or 8 weeks. I agree on the wait time, I would understand if they actually fixed them but it looks like the sent me a new one. But I guess like everything right now, there are lead time delays across the board.
