But how well do they perform? This review doesn't help me narrow down the heated gear (insoles) that I seek.

Are they waterproof? if you end up soaking wet or fall into a body of water, will they still work not to ruin them? (not like that can ever happen to me ;) Also with the heat settings, do the boots and other articles of clothing you wear play a role in battery life (along with outside ambient temps?) Thanks, great video as usual.

No, these are not waterproof garments. As for the heat settings, I can't imagine the clothing you wear with these would affect battery life.
