4:30 you would be surprised by what a pilotless jet with full throttle can do. In DCS jets with a dead/or ejected pilot can still gain altitude and fly for miles and miles if engines are still working before finally crashing

An interesting overview/comparison between the pilots in GTA V and GTA Online, didn't think anything of what the character models outfits would be, and I've even sometimes seen those jets taking off/landing from Fort Zancudo too!😮👍

I’m surprised you didn’t mention the fact that they seem to fly faster than the usual speed you’d be able to get flying the jets yourself. And have some crazy acceleration. I’m pretty sure they also ignore the speed decrease that happens below like 900 feet.

I did some research with Lamar's Mugger in GTA Online. He can take off in planes very quickly, similar to 10:51 , much faster than the player. He can also fly out of bounds, where player controlled aircrafts would just break.

Despawn: NPC’s easy way out

I found out something interesting yesterday during the prison break mission in online. I was flying the velum, as always, and the demolitions guy was shooting down the lazers after me. I noticed that they were using their air breaks as always, but when another one spawned i kept my distance as he flew at mach speed and almost crashed in my plane and the windmills at the wind farm. Another jet used his guns and almost shot me down, managed to keep my plane in the air somehow. And the last one seemed so far away from me that the demolitions pilot said the plane was stopped in mid air until I got close enough from it

The hanger mission with four peeps brings 24 jets that crash into each other some times and for the most part fly away but it’s the funniest AI plane fight you will ever have . I have seen them accidentally shoot each other down because there are so many and four of you they shoot everywhere which way. They come in waves of 6/7 and sometimes both waves at once so 12-14 of them . Funny but they are Tarded pilots .

Do one of these for helicopter AI

You can actually fly behind them by lowering your landing gear and tapping the throttle when you need to, at least that’s what i do and it works like a charm

in online the normal lazer is all gray but the ones merryweather use are gray with black tips on the nose and drop tanks

I was off radar, trying to fight a griefer, the griefed found an NPC jet when I was behind them

That type of helmets on the NPC’s are Heli helmets. Means that only use for flying helicopters. Funny do but players on online can’t get this type of helmets, only the fighter pilot helmets that has the oxygen mask on. We can’t take this oxygen mask and leave the helmet on.

A lot of the planes seem to have the same AI. NOOSE will fly a Police chopper, the Merryweather bald bearded guy will fly a Buzzard, and only one pilot flies the Jet.

For the first time I can say that Online and Singleplayer somehow are both worse than each other at something.

I remember this absolutely disastrous way I died on Prison Break while doing the Pilot role, I was turning to avoid a missile and wasnt paying attention to where the enemy jet was. I was T-boned by a fighter jet.

It looks like after a certain angle they are forced to level out instead of follow thru with the loop. Might be something to do with how they path them and loops just dont work out.

The idea of the ai not doing a loop is actually quite legit to me, the wanted pilots are to be seen as more experienced pilots and under the goal of taking you out, hense they are trained for Gforces, and will fly nearly vertical. However the rest are not trained and can't handle Gforces so they wont take crazy paths while chasing you. I personally would find ai that should have little piloting knowledge and code them to reform high G moves and faint, giving them 10 to 30 seconds of uncontrolled flight before they wake up, with reduced control for the next minute and each consecutive faint will last longer and of higher severity, after 2 or 3 they will lose or lock a maxed out input. But I'd also add the same effect for players as well until their pilot skill is maxed out.

How hard is it for rockstar to make specifically pilot NPC they created to pilot the jets instead of the marines and officers?

would be more better if we culd use the JET (boeing 747 story mode) plane in online!! and that more AI planes would fly around the map, and they would use all planes that we can use and they would takeoff and land on airstrips too.

Rockstar: We make AI sound like an oxymoron.
