Almost every day this week I’ve woken up to find a new episode of Light & Truth at the top of my RU-vid list. Despondency, today, is exactly what I’m struggling with. “He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.” John says to “fight”. But Lord, how do I fight without worry (for there is no mission you send me on that should lead me away from Your peace and Your presence and Your command, “Do not let your hearts be troubled”? How do I swing the sword and sing 3 Little Birds at the same time? “Teach me your way, LORD…” And how do I fight while I rest? How do I go off to war while I remain in You? Train my hands for war and teach me to be still. Teach me not to recite verses but to live them! “I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”
This was personally my favorite chapter in Future Grace, and I come back to it all the time. Never thought that the temptation to be despondent was also an invitation to battle unbelief with Jesus. That was life-changing. Praise Jesus that we have the power to let not our hearts be troubled. Thank you for sharing this, DG team, and Pastor John for walking us through God's word.
If you belong to Christ, you are a member of His body, therefore you cannot perish no matter what happens. Will Christ lose a part of His body? By no means, so take comfort, you will by faith overcome, because Christ overcame the world, the flesh and the devil!! God so loves you and will never let you go?? God bless you all abundantly ❤
Amen, I am more than a conqueror in Christ because I put on the whole armour of God daily! and stand firm in His truth and promises which is yes and amen.

The reason atheists are so despondent is because they have been told the sovereign Calvinist potter God, prior to Creation, predestined them to be barbecued in Hell, for no known reason, without the tiniest hint of a hope, or a prayer, or a chance, of ever receiving the monergistically given grace of faith and regeneration, from the sovereign Reformed Theology potter God, who inexplicably hates them in their decreed “Totally Depraved” invincibly ignorant state.

no, atheists are despondant because they have no hope in Christ. God is Sovereign. He saves whom He will save. Read Romans chapter 9. Make sure you are saved.
