Fighting tortoise fungus gnats 

Hi there! I have recently read posts about keepers who use food grade diatomaceous earth to their enclosures. I'm going to up the humidity in my enclosure and see if I get more. I find it distressing too and i've only ever had a few... I know they come in with potted plants. I spray my potted plants with dish soap and water and they die, but my plants are fine. Good luck! Let me know what your fix is. My enclosure is 8ftx30 inches coco coir on the bottom and reptibark on top. These little buggers are between the reptibark and coco coir. I'm going to try a layer of diatomaceous earth there. Keep us posted, this issue is so so common!!! The wetter the substrate the worse it is, I think.

I see mosquito bits on the thumb nail but I didn't see how you prepared the bits and what you did to get rid of them. Could you explain a little more of your process? Loving the videos wish they were longer.

Have you added woodlice as a clean up crew?
