The unique property of threatening normal types is underrated imo. Blissey, Mega Kangaskhan, Snorlax etc... these mons are scary... The fighting type keeps bulky normal types in check.
Isn't it weird that other than Keldeo there are no pokemon that you look at their stats and say "This is definitely a special attacker". The only ones that can use special attacks effectively are all mixed attackers.
Fun fact also, Lucario is the only other fighting type Pokemon with a higher special attack than physical attack. Nasty plot also makes it exceptional at wall breaking (but as you said he can also be a mixed attacker)
My favourite fighting type is Jimothy Cool, who fights off people laughing, mocking, and otherwise deriding him for the proper pronunciation of grew-don.
Main reason not to use Hidden Power oN heracross in Gen 2 is because you have to drop your multiple different EV's including your HP EV to below 5, which significantly impacts your bulk. In a bulk scentric meta game this makes it too much of a cost to use
Quaquaval is way too slept on. Max Hp evs and assault vest. Then substitute swords dances with triple axel and you got a late monster in singles. Not so much in doubles.
Fighting type is an interesting offensive typing as it's a bad mono STAB (which is the reason Zamazenta is not banned) but great secondary STAB or non-STAB coverage. The reason that it's great coverage is that it hits both Steel and Dark super effectively which compliments a lot of types very well. Also hits Normal, Rock and Ice but that's less important. However, Fighting is resisted by Flying, Fairy and Poison and Ghosts are immune to it. Psychic and Bug are some less important defensive typings that resist it too. This makes Fighting a bad mono STAB despite the high base power of fighting moves. TLDR; Fighting hits some key types super effectively making it useful coverage but is also resisted by many key types making it not so spammable.
51:42 Iron Hands gets Supercell Slam now, which is a huge power increase for it's STAB but also risky for your bulky fighting type to potentially lose 50% of it's health.
Fighting type is my favourite because all of its moves are so high risk high reward. High jump kick, super power, close combat, focus blast, no retreat, focus punch, dynamic punch, counter, cross chop etc On top of that, it is super effective against 5 types (most), and resisted/immune by 5 types (3rd most) It’s by far the most exciting type in the game and has some of the most iconic designs

My favourite would definitely be Mienshao ^^ I really like their Chinese-style fighter flavour, they're pretty and elegant. Gameplay-wise, their combination of physical and special prowess with decent speed, regenerator, fake out... Makes it interesting, both for Smogon lower tiers and VGC I guess. But they're starting to age! I really hope they can get a mega evolution next year :P I also like Gallade, and specially Mega Gallade a lot! He's so elegant and gallant. It'd be nice if they changed his mega evolution ability to be Sharpness, maybe that'd make him viable again for both OU and VGC... Maybe not in OU as long as Iron Valiant is there, though :/ Anyway! I've got to thank you for this very enteresting and entertaining series of videos :D It's been me go to to watch during breakfast, dinner or lunchtime ^^ I've not been really playing competitively for a lot of years, but I always like to follow how things are going. Now only flying type left! Which I know it's already uploaded. I like the idea of fighting types being weak to psychic, because i always thought it was like their brains would just explode from being too dumb to handle them.
The history of fighting types is simple. Most people will agree Lucario is the real sweeper but i think Primeape and Heracross will usually stand as the best of all gens.
kommobros........ we won i don't think there's a single mon in the past few gens that can run as many *types* of sets as him. access to damn near every boosting move, three equally viable abilities, synergy with at least a dozen held items, what a guy
i think you undersold gen 3 blaziken a bit. it's not the greatest wallbreaker of all time, it's slow and frail and theres mons that hit way harder like medi, marowak and slaking, but that typing is unbelievable. arguably the two best attacking types in the metagame are fire and fighting, since they're pretty hard to resist and the mons that do resist them are scared of your other coverage or get chunked by the resisted hit, which is why fire blast + brick break is pretty much universal on mixed attackers regardless of typing. when you add stab onto both along with high attack and special attack, then add on blaziken's solid mixed coverage (it can use thunder punch, hp ice/grass/ghost, rock slide, etc) it's literally impossible to safely switch into it. blissey, snorlax and celebi are the 3 main special walls and you 1-2 shot all of them with stab moves (the other good special wall is regice which i don't think i need to explain the matchup for lol), and enemy fire types either die to 4x effective rock slide or don't resist fighting, and mence dies to hp ice so it's not safe either unless you risk your defensive mons to scout the set. if you get a good lead matchup, use the right team or play to its strengths then blaziken is up there with the scariest mons in the tier, it's just very hard to make it work
Infernape is my favorite fighting type 🔥 👊 Would love to see him get a Mega Evolution where he gets the Ruyi Jingu Bang 🪄 and Kintoun ☁️ to go full Sun Wukong/Son Goku!
I will always be miffed they basically squandered Lucario's abilities as a Special Attacker. Nerfing Aura Sphere and generally no good ability to synergize with Aura/Wave based moves. Always makes me sad to them just be another physical beat stick. 😢
I also didn't understand the legendary/mythical distinction until I realised mythicals are only given away at Nintendo events So if it's Legendary, I have one of it per save file If it's mythical, I don't bloody have it, nor will I ever

Zamazenta is the worst box legendary in singles, but the best box legendary in doubles (at least right now). This thing is insane. PS: I just want to add that these are the most balanced 680 stats I've ever withnessed. 138 speed, 120 Attack being the best stats is quite, special. It seems that GF wanted that thing to be a presence in ou all along. And its even a bit min maxed, because the useless special attack is the worst one too! Wierd one here, for sure, hopefully it will never fall to UU.
No. It will count as a neutral hit. Against an Aegislash, a normal move off scrappy will be resisted, because ghost is neutral to a scrappy normal move, but steel resists it.
