Same. I kinda rewrote the design off at first, as I’m more drawn towards his more anime-influenced style. But after D started posing him and put on the wings the figure really looks good now, lol.
I reeeeeaaaalllllyyyyyyyyyy hope that eventually Yamaguchi will do the Crybaby design in the Amazing Yamaguchi line. With all the leaps he's taken going from the old Revoltech Yamaguchis to the AYs we have gotten recently like Deku and All Might, I think he could definitely knock it out of the park.
This is the only review that’s in English and only review in general there’s hardly any reviews of this figure Devilman is such a badass character/series
Thanks for the review brotha. Honestly this is the only review of this figma I coud find. I don’t know why people didn’t review/buy this thing. Looks absolutely beast!!
I love seeing how authentic that change of heart was for devilman D. I do this often too and it’s refreshing to see it happen in a review. Appreciate you 🙏🏽🙌🏽
awesome review, love that you changed your mind during the course of it and ended up digging him... now I'm making Jordan order me one as a belated birthday gift!
You know, what I really like about this figure is the "Rotisserie-Chicken-Left-Uncovered-In-The-Fridge-With-The-Fat-and-Gravy-sticking-on" look for Akira/Devilman. Gives him a grotesque and unsettling look which is fitting for a demonic character like himself.
Awesome review as always and I would love if you show the packaging of these figures so that us Hunters and collectors know what we looking for ! Awesome figure I love it !!
Now... I agree this figure looks great. But, I'm also saying, if a good Crybaby Devilman figure with great posability got made then I would buy 10 of them.
VAH is around 7 inches, I'm waiting for my Figma to ship. I'll have to do comparison shots, it seems like no reviews have actually put them side by side. I'm hoping figma is a lil bigger, I was hoping to use him as Amon on my shelf display
They must have fixed the articulation since I ordered mine from overseas. Mine was a ragdoll, yours looks like the joints are much tighter. What lighting did you use for the photos at the end?
I love Devilman and this was my first Figma. The elbow joints were so confusing and I genuinely thought they were stuck and ended up breaking one of them :(
Great review, but was that the collect to build Batman who laughs in the photos? BigBadToyStore said mine won't be here until the end of November, whack
I was wondering about the ankles articulations and i notice why i never had a problem with them, because of the base. If this guy can stand with those wings and with no base, those are pretty sturdy articulations!! And yet i missed my chance to get this one.....Figma are the smallest figures yet theyr price is soo high they already are out of my budget after the God Hand
Another awesome review, the detail looks so great and if I could get this, I think it could fit in with some GoGo V/Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue figures (if we get them)
Figma's biggest issues have always been articulation and scale. They seem to do better with the more slender/female characters but even then i'm still hesitant to go down that road. They seem to have the From software licsense which kind of bums me out, but at least someone's making souls figures.
I'm one who lacks critical expertise when it comes these high end figures. So, I'm still jazzed for Sekiro coming next year! I just hope there's nothing that makes them egregiously bad that even I would notice. Because, hoo-boy they aren't cheap! Has figma made, or announced any other From Soft IP's coming as figures? I can see what you mean with the scale. Their Samus looks okay on its' own. (The shoulders are flipping huge! But, proportionally don't look quite big enough. Maybe, it's different out of the package?) Another not as important contention I have with the scale. Even though a bit taller than Hasbro 6" inch scale like I imagine her to be in her armor. Comparing her to Marvel Legends, G. I. Joe Classifieds, and Star Wars 6" inchers, she looks like she pissed off a witch doctor. (i.e. shrunken head) Maybe, she should be scaled taller, and/or bulkier, especially in the head. I don't know. But, I guess there's no law that says they all have to fit together in scale.
@@Psychof1st Figma has released a bloodborne hunter, shown a black knight from dark souls, and also has sekiro coming soon. By scale I just mean they tend to be on the smaller side.
@@ziggylarkdust Oh! I feel, if nothing else, some have heads that are too small for their bodies. Samus, for example. The Guyver 1, specifically, that I have, definitely looks like a shrunken head to me. The box images that have a disclaimer that they're of a prototype, has a better proportion for the head.
@@Psychof1st it's not so much the small head's thats just a style thing. Its that their 1/12 figures run smaller than most companies. This is also a japense thing in general sh figuarts are usually shorter than marvel legends but figma's are even smaller usually.
He looks cool and hideous! XD Is he a villain? Or, is he the protagonist of one of the series I have not seen? (Which is all of them. I really only know of clips of the original and from one "box art/tile art" for Crybaby. And I remember those two being similar enough so I assumed they're the same character. This guy looks like a different character than those two. I'm wondering if there are, (and if this is), a villain because, he could be a perfect stand in for a monster enemy (zoanoid/zoalord) for my Guyver figmas. I got my Guyvers long after they originally came out. As in last year I got them. So, zoanoids and zoalords are long gone from online retailers other than a few going at the collectors price of hundreds of dollars like the Guyver gigantics. @D Amazing Do you have any Guyver stuff?
Devilman is the protagonist of the series. I believe the series dates back all the way to the 80’s?? Maybe later. It’s had several reboots and live action renditions so his design has changed a lot. Devilman Crybaby is the most recent reboot of the series- but it’s all the same character.
figma keep getting more expensive and revoltech are in 3.0 era (1.0: cut swivel, 2.0: all revoltech joints and look weird, 3.0 revoltech is look normal and can put in normal poses.)
Lol i got you, mine has a weak thighs joint, and the wings joint, at first i disappointed as well, and then i strengthen the joint friction, everything was solid now, i can stop starring at this figures on display cabinet, he really looks cool, yeah its sad they didn't use double joint for the knee, but overall im satisfied, looks wise, amazing, articulation its a good for me, not awesome but good.
