For all his flaws, Maguire has been really good for England. He is absolute crap for United though because of their non existent midfield and their playing style which requires a high defensive line. If i was running the club, i would sack the people responsible for selecting the players for transfer. They choose players who are not suitable for their play style and then try to train them to be one, which rarely ever works. Wan Bissaka, Fred, Donny are some of the other players.
This guy is a beast, maybe the most underrated defender in the world. Maldini proved once more that he doesn't make mistakes with defenders. Also the Tomori-Kalulu partnership is becoming something special!
@@meghashyaamsagar6046 I get what you mean, but in Italy it's not like in England where the coach is also the manager. Maldini is the technical director of Milan and together with Massara they are responsible for transfers, of course in coordination with Pioli. In the last three years, a lot of players have chosen us because of the status of Maldini, they say you can't simply refuse him when he approaches you.
It hurts that we sold him but I'm happy he's showing what he's always wanted to show to our coaches. Too late now. He'll follow in the footsteps of the greats like Thiago Silva and Pepe if he stays injury free. I pray he stays injury free. He's exceptional.
His performance in Milan REALLY reminds me to Thiago Silva back in the 2010-2011 season, strong, with good pace and agressive. His only weakness that i have seem so far is that he seems to "panic" once he has the ball, making some clumsy passes to the other players or just shooting the ball forward. Something that his partner Kalulu excels quite well, both players complementing eachother making them a literal "Wall" in Milan's defense. Kind of crazy how many players that are having stellar performances now were Chelsea's rejected players.
For fikayo, rather than chelsea "reject", i call him chelsea "product". Same like tammy, guehi, lamptey, livramento, galagher, broja, rice, musiala, jack cork, ake, aanholt, bertrand.
This guy and White for me at centre back. Jury is out on the last guy. Maybe Stones. If we play a back three. I love White from his Leeds days. This guy has matured well in the last season. God knows why more players don't go abroad more often. If an English player is struggling going abroad away from the bright lights is a great way to mature and a release from high pressure. No coincidence that players like Bellinghamm Sancho and co end up improving.
Definitely. Tomori should be first choice centre back for England without a doubt. White and Stones could be rotated cause of their similar style of play, but White certainly deserves to start based on his current form.
The way he is being ignored for England, he is probably regretting not choosing to represent Canada or Nigeria. Hopefully that changes soon, if he carries on playing well he has to be on the plane for Qatar, along with Tammy Abraham
Even if England keeps ignoring him and I hate Southgate for it, the Rossonero in me feels relief he won't get injured this crazy November world cup and end up missing our run in for the Scudetto. I'd still hope he gets picked over Maguire or starts for England though. Best CB in Italy and that says it all..
Lampard barely played him and we had multiple CBs. We had to sell some. Unfortunately, they decided to sell a top Academy product. Now we desperately need a player like him. We might spend millions needlessly to sign a player who is worse than him.
Ok, tomori was proven as a very well talent at Chelsea and will be a starter, how things changed is not understandable for me, milan didn't find him, they actually steal him that is the right word Chelsea's talents are really exceptional and if they where out of Portuguese club things will be diffrent The last year they send out four great talents: guehi - livramento - broja - Gallagher It's strange really
@@rascal5026 well said. I wouldn’t call his aerial game a significant weekness… he may not be outstanding on headers as in other categories, but he is my no means weak in the air.
@@fipupa18 Yes I agree, he isn't outstanding in the air but it's not like he's horrible. So wouldn't call that a significant weakness. I still see him out jump people. Didn't he jump higher than CR7 to score last season?
I think he is definitely better than Ben White, but maybe his poor performances against Liverpool maybe suggested Italian football is easier and making him look better than really is.
I think Manchester United should try to sign him. It's easy to convince him cause obviously, Southgate doesn't watch Seria A. If Tomori wants to be in the England squad for the World Cup then coming back to England is a must.
