There is a little gear icon on the bottom right of your Silhouette Studio screen. That's for your preferences. The first tab is general and you can set your downloads to hard drive or library there.
Has anyone else noticed a bug when you save to library in Silhouette Studio? I find that it never overwrites the existing file, so I end up with multiple copies, unless I remember to delete it before I save? I've also noticed that it seems glitchy when synchronising between my laptop and desktop, not with purchases or downloads, just with user files, often asking to recover files that were properly saved. Even when I go into the library and check it's synchronised before closing. Finally, I really wish that app settings and also custom materials would save to library, as that'd make it so much easier. I find that I do all my cutting with my desktop and only use the laptop for design work, as I can't be bothered to transfer over all of the material settings. I also like to use the sticky notes om designs where the cut settings are super critical, then I have a visual cue and reminder!
The library feature is not great. I've heard more than once that large amounts of files just go missing. I don't really trust it. I forgot to mention this in the video, but if you use a thumb drive to save your files, it's super easy to access them on multiple computers. I can use my external hard drive the same way, but it's kinda large and not great for moving around with the laptop. And the sticky notes are great! One of my favorite features. They don't always save right, either.
Can you just use a USB to store, loved but seldom used files. New to all of this. we did purchased 2 of the Seagate from Amazon. one for Business files for hubby. One for my bag patterns to cut out.
