The life of an OFW is a very tough one, John. I know this first hand with my wife....you know who! The emotions of being away from ones own children and family is not healthy, especially in the long term. Watching them grow up on facetime is truly sad. But life and raising a family is a sacrifice. Great video!
Thank you for the interview. This is a rare gem. From your guest, your empathy, calm voice, the choice of music, the volume of the background music... it clearly shows that you know what you are doing and that you really put a lot of effort into it. OK, the background could use overhaul 😆
@@WatchCaliforniaExpat Don't hurry, I had to think for a long time how to find something negative, so it's not so obvious when the content is so good 🤣
Good to see Weng on your channel. Weng is going to do very well. Of course we all know this by now. 😊. I am looking forward to The possibility of seeing her one day when I finally get over there. I will be attempting to revive my old RU-vid channel.
Great video John. Weng is such a real jewel! Always so pleasant and kind. I appreciate hearing some background about her. Thanks for sharing Weng! It’s very easy to see that she’s definitely a fighter. There are very high value Filipinas out there guys… take the blinders off! 😊
That is pretty close to the average in the provinces. No TV, no cell phones, no books to read, what else is there for her parents to do after work and after dinner when they are young?
Most westerners have no idea what it is like for women like Weng to work overseas as caregivers. my fiancé worked in Saudia Arabia for 13 years for a family. They treated her like she was subhuman. She told me that as bad as they were, her friends had even worse employers. The OFWs dare not complain or they can be arrested on false charges. The employers frequently take the passports of the OFWs so they can not leave without permission. The employers regularly demand the workers work past their contracted hours for no additional pay. Interestingly, it is even worse during Ramadan when the employers literally demand the OFWs be on 24 hour call to cook food at all hours of the night and still do their daytime work as scheduled. What little respect I had for the Saudis and Muslims went completely down the drain when I saw how they treat these caregivers and domestic help. Why did my fiancé stay all that time? She had no other opportunities to provide food for her children. She was fortunate to be an OFW because starving is a worse option.
Well done mate, this was a well executed interview, i would say you're a natural, I'll subscribe and hope to see more, I like your style - you let her speak.
