Completely agree with you about being upfront from the start about your intentions. If a guy doesn't say to the woman that he's only after a short-term relationship, or wants to take it really slow, then he needs to be clear about this before he jumps into bed with the woman. I will be the first to accept that there are women out there who want to scam or abuse their relationship with a foreigner they meet - but us guys need to lead by example and we need to step up and not be a**holes ourselves. I met my Filipina partner of 11 years in HK and we have a child together. We relocated from HK 4 years ago. We are around the same age. We have property and business interests in the Philippines. Since moving to the Philippines permanently, however, she has become a different person. She is now regarded as a wealthy, important person, both within her family and in our community. That has changed her from a decent, humble person into an arrogant, supercilious unpleasant individual who sees herself as being better than others. She forgets the fact that when I met her she was in a crappy job and being treated like shit, living out of a suitcase. I am treated like shit, so all I want to do is escape from what she has turned into a toxic relationship but she is pulling all kinds of legal and emotional turns to prevent that. My perspective - don't give a Filipina anything because in the end you will lose out.
Your advice is excellent but I personally don’t think it will convince American men to act differently. It is my feeling or believe that this guy knew what he was looking for. He wanted a casual relationship with intimacy/sex. He should have conveyed this to his partner at some time during there time together. The truth of the matter is that if he had said that to her she sounds like the type of person who would have said “no”. So he didn’t take the chance on conveying his true feelings. I have found through my experiences that Filipinas do not want casual sexual encounters/relationships, especially the province girls. Too many foreign men are hooking up with these young girls with not the right attention. It is a shame because these girls are looking for love, security and a lifetime commitment. If men want casual flings then they should go to the bigger metropolitan cities in the Philippines and do the dating scene like it’s done in the states. Hey, I'd be interested to know more about this mindset of the Filipina, after an extensive "courting" period with my Filipina, we finally got intimate and it was like a switch was turned on and she became a different women (in the best possible way) holding hands, touching, cuddling kissing etc...is it common for Filipina's once they have had intercourse consider that is now a done deal and that's the end of the "courting" phase? This was all after I met her parents and family too...just interested to know more, it's different to western dating . The bigger problem is, most all there is brought up very free about physical relations, whether girlfriend/ boyfriend or just for fun, it I have sex with someone after just meeting them? one doesn't need to lie to Filipina women of quality--if youre anxious to just get laid, it's not difficult in the Philippines as here are plenty of sexworkers willing to provide said intimacy. I've only slept with one Filipina, my current girlfriend, so I am no expert. I knew what my expectations were toward her family before consummated our relationship. I am blessed.
