The fried bangus tastes better when you dip it with toyomansi (soy sauce with calamansi) and chilli oil or with vinegar. We usually drink hot coffee or hot chocolate with those silogs. I like our native coffee, kapeng barako (liberica beans), which is a really strong coffee that wakes you up to the very core. Its bitter taste complements the sweetness of tocino and longganisa.

Eat milky fish with tomatoe and rice. What I like is bangus with tomatoe dip with soy sauce or fish sauce yummy! With coffee perfect!!!

Most Filipino dishes, especially the mains, are meant to be eaten with rice. Rice is life in the Philippines. Yes we have noodles dishes that are so yummy too but rice is always present. Cheers and it's nice to see you two enjoying Filipino cuisine. Also, to elevate the flavours even more, anything fried or greasy is usually paired with vinegar and soy sauce dipping sauce. You can add onions, garlic and Thai chilis and oh man, so so so damn good. It elevates the flavour

That's exactly what a Filipino breakfast looks like. I wonder if you guys could eat, using your hands (cuz that's how most Filipinos eat) You can also try and eat the Milkfish's skin if you like. The only thing that is missing though is a dipping sauce. It depends on every person what dipping sauce you like, but we mostly do vinegar sauce, and calamansi+soy sauce (with red chili if you like it hot). Looking forward on the next video!

We tried using our hands in another video and it was a bit difficult, didn’t want to take too long finishing the food and make all the viewers wait 😆 and yeah we totally forgot the dipping sauce! But honestly the food was so soooooo good, perfect the way it was 😁

Those look soo gooood! I can smell the garlic rice from here. We mostly pair "silogs" with coffee or hot chocolate. Tapsilog is marinated beef or pork tapa. Longsilog is cured sausage. Tocilog is cured sweet pork and Bangsilog is fried milkfish.

You can drink anything with it..but since it’s breakfast..can do tea, coffee, hot cocoa, calamansi or mango juice. Ooo…corned beef can be added in the silog menu too. Glad you guys enjoy a part of my culture, breakfast style ❤. Hope to see more!

-Silog stands for sinangag (fried rice) and itlog (egg). Bang- is for bangus (milkfish), tos- for tosino (cured pork, like bacon), tap- for tapa (dried/marinated beef), long- for longganisa (a kind of sausage). 💗

I use Banana Ketchup, a lil bit of chili powder & Vinegar (mixed them together for ur dipping), to balance the saltiness, & oiliness from frying. If eaten outside, I would drink Mountain Dew, in the house, either coffee, hot choco, orange juice/juices/iced tea.

That is correct coffee or hot choco would be the perfect drink for silogs if you are having it for breakfast. If you will be having it for lunch or dinner Coke zero or pineapple juice would do the trick.

Although silogs are typically a breakfast food, it can be eaten at any meal. In California we have Filipino restaurants that are open late night or even 24 hrs that sell silogs. We'd also go there after 2am after a night at the clubs or bar. I also agree that the meats are good dipped in spiced vinegar to cut the fat and grease. Btw...my favorite one is the Tocilog (Tocino is the sweet pork).

It’s longanisa, tocino, daing na bangus, fried rice & sunny side up egg. We call it silog because it comes up with tocino (the red one), sinangag(fried rice) & itlog(egg) you get the to in tocino, get the si in sinangag and log in itlog so together it’s tosilog. The same in Longanisa and bangus, the longasilog & bangsilog. We dip all the dish in vinegar and we partner it with coffee. That’s our ultimate filipino b-fast.

oh i needed this video! been overwhelmed by the passed days😂. it depends on the time of day if i wanted coffee or soda with these. usually there's an all day breakfast menu in the restaurants. oh, there's also a tons of varieties of longanisa depends on what province you're in, there are round ones, and the regular shapes. im not a dipping sauce type but it taste good with vinegar, a dash of salt and minced garlic, some splash sugar in it too. your videos are relaxing, believe me! and yes to mr harrigan's phone. till next week!!

Good job on the pronunciation! Longganisa is great paired with the sliced tomato and rice. Bangsilog is bangus (milkfish) and you can eat it all. It’s our national fish! I’ve been wanting to watch Mr. Harrigans Phone but I’m stuck watching kdramas😂😂😂 Currently binging “extraordinary attorney woo”!

As a Filipino it's awesome that you like Filipino food. The one that you like (sweet pork) is what we call Tocino (pronounced as to-si-no). The combination of food is what we call SILOGs. Like the Longganisa combination we call it LONGSILOG - LONG (longganisa), SI (Sinangag (garlic rice)) and LOG (itlog (tagalog for egg)). For example we have a combination with hotdogs we call it HOT-SI-LOG and Fried Chicken which we call CHICKSILOG.... you get the drift. Looking forward for more Filipino food in your channel. Silog is good anytime in the day. Breakfast, Second breakfast, lunch, pre-siesta(usually 3pm), Dinner, midnight. Pair it with coffee in the morning, then coke for the rest.

You can pair it with any drink. Hot drinks in the mornings, cold drinks by noon and night. Those are not limited to breakfast only. It is just that fried rice and eggs are usually made in the mornings and they are easy to prepare.
