Hello A + F and Sister. We flew in yesterday and had our first couple meals! Started at Dukes surf shop - not in love with the drinks but the atmosphere was great. Izakaya Torae was wonderful though! That Seared Maduro, Unagi and pork belly were top tier! Off to hike diamond head this morning while we conquer jetlag. Appreciate the vids.

Cruising around my old stomping grounds again! When I was little, I used to take piano lessons at this place called Keiki Music School right across Depot Road from Da Ultimate Grindz. So nostalgic. And we lived right down da road from where Cheese Tea stay. In fact, one of my go-to foodie places, Far East Chop Suey, is right around da corner in that same plaza! So many stories about growing up in Waipahu. Oh and how's Felix wit da cho cho lip action again! hahaha

I’ve only been to a handful of boba places so I don’t know the best one but I like the brown sugar boba jasmine milk tea 25% sweetness at Mr. Tea. My son loves Tiger Sugar. We go there every week before his swim lesson at the nearby YMCA. I tried going to Sunset Texas BBQ today and the line was outrageously long so I bailed and ate elsewhere in Kaka’ako. Hope y’all do a video there so I can see if the brisket is worth it! It reminds me of the time I waited hours for Franklin’s BBQ in Austin.

Tianos! Went there today for the crispy pata, closed til 1400 cuz they had no cashier. Prime rib plate is popular. If you go to the kunia spot get the prime rib with garlic mash. The kunia restaurant offers different size cut prime rib. The ewa beach tianos closed forever since covid.☹️

I’m not too familiar with Filipino food so this video was very informative. Does Filipino food have a lot of smoked meats? I like the mean sax play. Who is that sax player! Back to the food…I’m glad that you eat healthy during the week so that you can review the decadent plate lunch and local food for us. But to make it real we all need to take breaks from the fatty and salty food. Can you please share some the healthy food you cook at home or the takeout food that you eat to be healthy. Much mahalo!

Local here in El Paso, TX. The best place for boba is Teapioca Lounge... My goto is Pina Colada with boba...yummy! My daughter's is Taro with boba.

Maybe I just haven't seen it in the Hawaiian foods videos I've watched. Maybe it's just not a big deal in Hawaiian cuisine. I don't know. But, here in Texas, where slow-smoked brisket rules the roost in the barbecue world, the most coveted part of the brisket is the burnt ends. When I watch Hawaiian food videos, when they have brisket, burnt ends never seem to be featured. What's up with that? Is it just not a big deal n Hawaii? Just curious because I think, if y'all ain't gettin' down on some burnt ends, y'all are missing out. They're way better than their name suggests!
