The local guide did a great job right there. Very informative and he knows what he's saying, added some humor too. You two got some chemistry. I like this Philippine episode
I love this approach. Always bring a local to teach you where and how to eat. I find it bad when Pinoy food don't get the recognition it deserves just because it was not eaten the right way. Love this!!
This is the best street food hole in the wall tour in Cebu that i've seen. Shout out to Paul, for being your cool tour guide, wow he knows where to take you when it comes to food.
Visiting the Philippines is on my bucket list! My uncle met my aunt there when he was stationed there in the Air Force, and the food she cooks is so delicious! I really want to see where they met and where she grew up! Love this! ❤️
Nice to see you in my country. I am filipino residing here in Ontario Canada for 37 years. I have been in Cebu once , but watching you enjoying the culture, food and heritage feels like I am with you. Thank you for taking me to Cebu. Enjoy your stay and be safe out there.👋
Luke Martin is by far the best when it comes to giving descriptions of how foods taste and smell and everything you need to know about delicious foods. I'm a fan of this show (Chopstick Travel) for months now. This episode reminds me of my college days... I love Cebu, my home city. ❤️🥰🤩
I like this episode spontaneously smooth...non stop eating local street food. You need to go to different provinces as well to try their local cuisine, there's a lot to explore...non ending adventures! Welcome back to the Philippines, Luke! You can connect with Kulas (Becoming Filipino channel), Canadian vlogger from BC...he basically toured entire Philippines and currently lives in Davao. Kulas is well loved foreign vlogger in the Philippines.
That's true, the Philippines is a very, very, very diverse 7,000 plus archipelago with ( 130 very, very, very diverse different Proto - Austronesian Ethnic Groups ) with over ( 175 - 185 different Ethnic Indigenous Proto - Austronesian languages & dialects ) and with many different Ethnic Cultures & many different Religion & Beliefs & Superstitions ) and many different Cultural & Tradional local culinary cuisines and many different Ethnic specialties of Delicacies.
One of my online gaming buddies lives in Cebu (we’ve never met) and he keeps inviting me to come stay with him and says the food is off the hook. I love Filipino food, after watching this I’m definitely going to take him up on it. Great video Luke!
Luke's channel has been upgraded and has recently added many more subscriptions to 1.34 million; I am very happy that Luke has been improving and bringing us wonderful videos, which is really gratifying; The series with the participation of local people is really great, which can give us a better understanding of the essence of local food; Cebu has always been known as a holiday paradise in Asia.
@@Tinyman. Yeah, without Sabrina is much better. The videos are now more professional, more cultured, awesome, 100% support Luke's decision! Please remember that they are no longer together, and even if they are forced to shoot together, there will be no any sparkle. If you want to watch a fake romantic movie, or just want to watch her alone, I suggest you go to her and ask for her shoot it for you alone, good luck! P.S. I found a very strange thing, before their breakup was made public, the rumors were everywhere! And Luke was the only one to blame! If people who asked where is Sabrina are not loyal audiences, they should not know that he has a girlfriend before, If they are loyal audiences, why do they keep asking the same question over and over again? Is it a scam group extorting money? If you are a good person, you should stand with those who support him and continue to support him! If you are not a good person, you can learn from the scam group, ask where she is every week, and continue to cause trouble for both of them! God bless you!
@@giannishen Hello Gianni! Was there a video vlog about heir break up? I just want to watch it and see what happened. I was actually shocked that they were no longer together. Thanks!
Hi Martin!..welcome back to the Philippines 🇵🇭 there's a lot to explore in the Philippines 🇵🇭 Go to places like Baguio city, Sagada, Vigan, Batanes, San juan la union, hundred islands, subic, tagaytay, alabang, BGC, villa escudero, Makati, Eastwood, Coron Palawan and many others..these places are absolutely exquisite.....
the most authentic food vlog of cebu street food i've ever seen. congrats bro & to paulo for being your cool tour/food guide. i'm from cebu btw so i'm glad that you covered the true local eating spots & not the same touristy places that most food vloggers are visiting... kudos luke & enjoy the philippines!
This is an amazing tour of Cebu's street food. As someone from Manila, I haven't even tried most of them. I tried the pungko pungko way back when it was still out in the side of the streets
Hey Luke, I think you did a great job with this episode together with Paolo. I enjoyed the shots of the both of you eating together, while showing the entire food stall in the frame too. Am happy to have started rewatching your videos again! Looking forward to the next one.
Paolo is really good! This is really a legit local food trip and totally different from other foreign vloggers featuring cebu foods because of him. Kudos to Paolo!
Luke went all in with the filipino heart attack street food and he is enjoying all of them !! Good job to Paulo for being a great food tour guide. Greetings from NYC. 😎
Hell yeah!!! 2 ngoyong = 14pesos + 3 puso = 10pesos + mountain dew = 10pesos + sabaw = free ________________ a total of 34 pesos this carenderia helped me survive college.. I am so thankful!
Haha, “let’s wait by the NO STOPPING sign.” You are awesome, Luke. I think it’s about being open to the new and respectful of what’s different without judgement or inauthentic compliments… happy you have a camera person, good audio, and local guide. I’ve been to Cebu many times, I’m so glad you opted to show everything else other than lechon.. And that puso or puso eating style has been missed by other food vloggers because everyone’s showing the same items or spots. Enjoy.
Luke! Come to Iloilo! But then welcome back to Philippines! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my country. Your channel has an amazing upgrade. Keep it up and enjoy your stay! 🤍
I was a missionary in Cebu for two years, and love that city! This is by far the best travel video for Cebu that I have seen on RU-vid. Well Done!! This takes me back.
Fantastic episode luke. Paolo is a fantastic addition to your video. Looks like a great guy to have a few beers and some grub!! Wishing you all the best from Scotland uk
I'm from the Visayas (Bohol to be exact), so it's awesome to see you venture to that part of the country. You're making me miss home 😝. Anyway, enjoy the Islands.
I think your local host had done an excellent job with his thorough knowledge of local cuisine, not to mention his wit, humor and excellent communication skills. Though one thing he missed out was the English for ginabot which is actually an omentum, not pork intestine. Nonetheless, I am impressed with your local host! Great job! Well done!
during the Proto - Austronesian era 6,000 years ago, they might have introduced the "Hanging Rice" ( Ketupat/Lontong ) to the people of SUGBO. I'm not 100% sure though, because I've done some researched and I couldn't find any concrete proof or evidence.
this is the typical Filipino streetfood hoping. Welcome to Cebu, i am enjoying this video, you are tasting foods that every Filipino wanted to eat. Cebu is the best when it comes to food, cebuanos are very innovative.
Cebu, my hometown! There used to be 1 Melton's halo-halo and it was in Pardo. When I was in High School it was a go-to place for us after school. And the chinese ngohiong in Junquera, is where my friends and I mostly ate our lunch when we were in College. The siomai in Tisa was my stopover before going home from school.
That’s cocido in Pampanga, but we add chorizo de bilbao, cabbage, plantain, ham or smoked pork hack, and sometimes radish. Our dipping sauce is dayap (key lime) in fish sauce. Our Pochero has no soup - only sauce and it has plantain, green beans, cabbage, tomato sauce and garbanzos. It’s interesting how a dish varies from province to province in the Philippines.
Just a note: in the first bowl of soup segment, she isn't stroking the flames higher, she is skimming foam and oil from the top that rises as the meat cooks. The more foam she can skim, the cleaner tasting and looking the broth will be!😊 She just happens to have the perfect place to toss out pills and foam... Right into those flames.
Oh Man, you guys make me hungry, the food looks so good, I missed them, years before you guys were born, lol. Anyway, where's the Lechon? That's the pride of Cebu and is famous for, great job guys, thanks for sharing.
This is such a great episode especially for me who just moved here in Cebu and first time, so definitely will add those street foods on my lists! Thanks so much and Enjoy your stay here!
Pungko-pungko is "squat squat." Vendors use to go around with basket filled with these fried foods and people converge around it by squatting on the ground or sit on very short stools or benches in the past. Now, it has been gentrified.
how can you even fit those food in a day. .i cant even fathom how you were able to eat those in a day. .cebu has a lot to offer.glad you are enjoying the local food here in cebu
12:00 i know this place!! chinese ngoyong!! so much memory in this place, the ngoyong is very cheap and delicious!! this carenderia really helped me survive college omg i feel so nostalgic right now.
I'm new to this channel and I kinda like the way you deliver your videos roaming around with our very own local citizen finding the best foods in town and appreciating local foods in the Philippines 💪💪💪
Ohhh wlcme back in the Philippines again enjoy your stay there and the foods stay safe too!!....I'm a Filipino-American from Manila and a residence in Glendale, California
Wow Philippines thank you for sharing this vedeo amazing yoir not a pilipino but you have time in my country to share to all people the famous food and cebu
Luke, if you come to Indonesia don't forget to visit Surabaya. We have some unique food in here, different with other cities in Indonesia. For example rawon, tahu telor, tahu campur, semanggi, rujak cingur, and many more!!
Very awesome video! If not, the best cebu food tour review I've watched. Your tour guide, sir paolo, IS VERY GOOD he really knows his stuff! . Kudos to you and him! Keep up the great work!
