Walk further down the road. Go to 7-11 facing the church around 4pm. You'll see street hawkers selling siomai, calamares, dynamite bibingka.balut etc. Further down There is a shawarma place that serves good beef kebabs, then there's a Jollibee there go pass that there is a yellow store before the ice plant, there you can find Good Cassava Cakes and Pichi-pichi I think. Go further down that road and ask around for Emong's Malungay pandesal. It's a Filipino bread, you should taste that you can get it from the bakery you went to but Emong's is so much better. There's always a line there. Oh and after ask around where the vulcanizing is. They repair tires there NEXT TO IT I don't know the name is a "Pares" place. they have cauldrons outside you can't miss it. Order the pares. then walk further to the corner where you can get litson manok or roasted chicken.

I myself do a lot of spontaneous food searches whenever I'm in not-so-familiar places so I can relate to what you've done. More so because I also live in Quezon City, which is, by far, the largest in Metro Manila and with literally thousands of dining establishments, from the high-ends to the most pedestrian carinderias there are. Good show. 👍

Lugaw, Goto and Arroz Caldo are basically the same, the difference is Goto has pork intestines and tripe on it, Lugaw however is just plain rice porridge with some toppings sometimes. and the Arroz Caldo has hard boiled eggs on it.

that's a great neighborhood for food. not many places have so many eateries right next to each other. it's really just hot eating during the day w/o AC. bulalo is one of the few Pinoy dishes I can easily eat without rice--it's usually not too salty

this is how i eat bulalo maybe some filipinos, first i kae the sawsawan. sour in some soysauce in your sauce bowl/plate, squeeze in the calamansi slice or press the red chillies making sure you press the seeds... then i get some meat from the bulalo, and soaked it into the sawsawan so that the flavor of the soy sauce calamansi and chillies sip into the meat... not eat that together with the rice dreanched with the soup and veggies... oh yeah....

Egg pie has always been my favourite since I was a kid. In the US I only found one place doing that and it doesn’t even come close. That’s true egg pie where it’s dark brown on top. Not the light brown colour. I can’t wait to get back to the Philippines to have that again. Street food will never lose to restaurant food. Not only they’re as good, if not better, than restaurant cooking, they’re much cheaper also. Street food for me all the way. By the way, I have no idea how you can eat that much and stay that thin. Must be the chilis you eat all the time. If I can handle as much heat as you do, perhaps I’d be much thinner 😆

Manila is not Bangkok. But vloggers are going to make it seem like it can be or is that it is. Bangkok is someplace where Scandinavians and Swiss people can eat where the Thai janitor or construction worker eats. In Manila, places called Lugawan or Karenderia is not even close to what a noodle shop in Laos or Cambodia is. While the places featured may be good. It can be misrepresentation of reality, when something so mundane is described to be "Awesome". (Love the tittle of the channel. I have very low standards for food places. But I take one look at some silver trays on a glass stand and my inner Mary Antoinette would say, Give them Jollibee.
