I bought this nail gun as we were planning to renew all the fencing in our back garden. As this involved 19 double slatted fence panels, 10 of which needed to be cut down in size, we knew there would be a need for a great ru-vid.comUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt deal of re-stapling the wooden slats to the wooden framework. Each alteration required the re-stapling of 62 wooden slats with double staples. Prior to starting the work we ordered sufficient additional staples as per the instructions with the gun.The gun performed fantastically throughout the entire project with no jams of misfires. The adjustable power was excellent allowing the staples to be fired into the 8mm slats to the correct depth. For the price paid this was a bargain and it proved itself to be so reliable and versatile making an arduous task much quicker and professional. I cannot recommend this product highly enough and it will be used on many other projects in the future.

I have the Hikoki/Hitachi branded framing nailer, and the finish nailer (16 ga) on its way in the mail. Hello, i need some advise. Recently i bought a secondhand hitachi NR1890DC but now, the nails aren't driven at all. In my humble opinion, the piston tip seems to be worn. But i can be wrong (i never saw a new hikoki tip) Need the piston driver be replaced or not? Thanks.
@Allenr1967
@Allenr1967 Год назад
If, it is not driving nails into the wood. I would start with topping off the internal air. If it is not even allowing the nail to advance to be driven at all. The #1 tooth on the driver might be worn down or broken off. Or the #1 pin in the pinwheel might be broken.

@Allenr1967

It uses compressed air from a standard compressor with a psi of at least 110psi. No special gasses are used nor recommended. Refill, if needed within the first year is warranty directly from the factory service center. After a year, it can be considered normal maintenance.

Great video! I bought a Ridgid cordless nailer (R09895B) and it has run low on air so I am trying to figure out how to refill it. There is an inflation port that looks like a typical tire inflation port and the manual says to pressurize for 30 second to a max of 125psi. Problem is, nothing happens when I try to pressurize it. I am guessing that it too will need to be put into maintenance or service mode. Any experience with this or suggestions? The DC clipped head version is very sensitive to the thickness of the nail rack passing through the magazine. Different nail brands may use thicker paper and if the magazine is dirty. It will be difficult for the nails to pass through. Keep the magazine clean and it may help to slightly flatten the steal plate that the the nails slide on in the magazine. Big thing is nail dia. The closer to .131" fastener you get. The more difficult nail feeding may be. First generation tool design. It's a bug.

Would it be a good idea to put a couple drops of air tool oil in the regulator or remove the schrader valve and put a couple drops into the gun? Or is oil in these guns a bad idea
@Allenr1967
@Allenr1967 Год назад
There are two types of greases inside the tool. Gear grease on the hard moving parts. And white lithium is used inside the air chamber areas to help seal the soft parts. One of the uses of oil is to flash out the tool. You dont want to dilute the greases. It would cause air leakage and premature failure.

Normal ware from use is a big factor on how quickly the internal air storage will leak out. If the tool is used daily all day. A standard servicing could be needed in a year or less. The signs of the air becoming low is the nailer unable to fully drive the fastener into the wood.

That means there is something physically jammed in the tool or a nail jamming the pistondriver. The nail jam is the easiest to look for. Magazine is held on with three, 4mm bolts. And the magazine comes off and exposes the back of the nose area where a jammed nail would be. If there is no nail jam. The it could be a broken gearbox. Gearbox repair would need a service center or manufacturer attention. Metabo-hpt.com has a repair shipping label request program going on right now.

The 23 gauge pin nailer is spring driven and does not require air fill. There are three different regulators for the different AirSpring nailers. You can get the 371210 regulator, which is for the 15ga. That puts out 87 psi. And when you use it for the 18ga. Just set your compressor output presure to 51psi. And if you need to fill the 16ga or any of the framers. Set the output psi on your computer to 73 psi.
