April 23rd is a national holiday in Turkey for commemorating the establishment of the national assembly and it is dedicated to children. As the developers are Turkish, that's where the holiday card comes from!
This must have been recorded before the last episode went out. Since he acknowledged in the comments of he last one that he didn’t realize -20 resources was a game over.
@@dylanhurst9541 He did say inn that comment that he has been playing some games since, so I am sure we can expect this to happen at least once more before its over xD
With the build Tom had it would have been great to get the Trash Burner and Hydro Power upgrades. So every time he played a road card he would get power.
Game: Here's an upgrade that gives you energy for destroying cards. Tom: Yep. Game: And your power generates cards that destroy themselves. Tom: Uh-huh. Game: And your energy is very negative. Tom: I know! Game: So... Tom: Reroll!
I love that for jokes like at 4:15, Josh always mutes the BGM for it, so even if I had to look away for a second I know there's a bit of cheeky wordplay happening and can make sure to skip back and not miss it!
There were three cowboys walking across the Idaho desert. Headed west, to find a new life. Sadly, they underestimated the vast desert. And after three days without food, they feared death... However, luck was somehow on their side that day, as in the distance one cowboy spotted a tree. Not just a tree... a tree with large pieces of meat hanging from it to dry in the desert sun! The men ran to the tree, knowing they were saved!! Suddenly a shot rang out. One of the three cowboys dropped dead on the spot. The first cowboy turns to the other, "RUN!!!!" He shouts. "IT'S NOT A BACON TREE!!!! IT"S A HAM-BUSH!!!"
I like that the power situation wouldn't have really been a problem if he would have taken the card giving security for any card played with a cost 7 or over.
Gain a power when you play a card that costs water. Gain a power when you destroy a card. Gain security (power) when playing expensive cards "none of those are really drawing me in" *reroll* *dies at -20 power*
one of the stronger upgrades to take is gaining things when you have a lot of power, and then picking the other upgrades that give you duplicate resources when gaining... it effectively gives you triple resource generation
Had me confused for a quick second because the time you showed at when you said "Todays date" was the exact same for me. Made me feel as though I was buggin.
These jump cuts have gone too far. Editor. Please PLEASE stop. The videos in the past few weeks have had so little continuity that they are barely more than a bunch of shorts pasted together for most of the video. You are maximizing "Tom Talk", but at the cost of showing the game. This isn't a podcast/radio show. The stuff Tom is playing is important too. I'm sitting here constantly saying "Wait, didn't Tom just have something bad happen 3 seconds ago? It's already over and 2 different conditions are already active? Why? What did he do? Where did those 8 other buildings come from?" I'm going to be honest. I haven't been enjoying Tom's videos for weeks now. I know you need to push to get more, more, MORE views. Always more! But sometimes you can alienate your CURRENT viewers.
I remember a similar problem back with Dicey Dungeon and at least one other game since then. Important upgrades/decisions were skipped, making it hard to follow what was happening. I'm still enjoying them, but yeah, it can be hard to keep track of what's going on.
Daily reminder that Tom is an amazing person and to thank him for all he has done/will do - Day 1238 Yey, super happy to see another episode of Cardboard Town, and going by Tom's reply on the last episode I can't wait for more :D God, that combination with the roads, electrical and destroying was golden, hopefully another good combo like that in the future God, just one off (2 actually) from completing the map, damn, hopefully better luck next time :D
