Great job! I Installed a new boiler myself in my home five years ago. It was a pretty big job because I had to put it 20 feet from where the old one had been due to a new code. It took me only four weeks with all the trips back to get more fittings, LOL. Once you get all the air purged you want to leave the little cap on the top of the separator open. It will let air out automatically. If it should get water too high in that cylindrical chamber the float will close the little valve on top. As more air accumulates again it displaces water so the float drops opening the valve again.

Someone mentioned about a leak, well this is about a possible Potable water failure even a very small misting leak will cost thousands to repair if undetected and if someone goes on vacation. All those unseen water lines like dish washer,clothes washer, refrigerator and not least the hot water heater. I have two of these “Moen”(mfg) at different locations these are kind of expensive @$500.00 plus installation that will shut the water off to the house if needed.

Thanks for another great video Nick and Scott. It was interesting. Thanks to Scott for helping with Nicks house since he had experience doing his. That helped a great deal as he had done his already. Lots and lots of valves and fittings. They did good if you ask me. Green fluid to fill the lines and no leaks-yea!!!!!!!!!! Good job brothers. House building is not easy. Takes a lot of time and patience to get it all right and working. Looking good so far Nick. Hang in there my friend. About it for now. Thanks to Scott for the help. Thanks for everything Nick. Do you plan to run data cable throughout your new home, including to camera locations, wifi access point locations? Unifi is an easy system for networking. You could use unifi to bridge each location (shop, parents, brothers locations and only pay for one Internet subscription) to have the the same network accessible on wifi, outside access points ?

prob too late now, but when hole sawing timber once you have started the hole, stop and drill a hole with a drill bit on the inner of the hole saw circle in the timber just touching the edge of the hole. but not going into the timber your keeping. it will give the sawdust somewhere to go and stop it clogging up the teeth and burning. it will also give the hole saw an easier time. bigger hole may need more that one drill hole to let the sawdust escape. tip i saw somewhere and it does help, especially in thick timber

I don't know why they use small pilot bits in hole saws. Nobody is going to use a hole saw to make a hole smaller than 1/2 inch, so why not make them with a 1/2 inch pilot. I don't use a drill bit for the pilot in a hole saw. I use round solid steel rods. Drill the pilot hole first so the solid steel rod goes in the hole.

Awesome to see your partnership again. People don't realize how many different skills you have/need/develop on the farm. I am curious about your pressure tank on the in-floor system though. I would have thought it would need to be at the top of the system instead of at the floor. Won't it just fill up with fluid and lose the function? Liquid won't compress, so there wouldn't be any pressure retained there.

The only thing wrong with all that, is you compromised the durability of the wood you drilled all those holes into. Nothing you've done is worth that. Knowing you wanted that did. You should have had mock drawings did, showing where you needed double walls or chases built to accommodate pipping for that task. If I had mine built from ground up, cost wouldn't matter when it comes to that. Added in you also took away any chance of slowing down a fire since you gave it a pathway to fuel its burning.

Nick.... I have been wanting to ask: what symptoms did your truck have when the AFM went bad?
@WelkerFarms
@WelkerFarms 9 месяцев назад
So long story short turns out when my engine failed it was a piston that was scorched due to me not using high octane fuel. My engine has a higher compression ratio and it needs higher octane otherwise detonation will occur. So it wasn't the dod or AFM that failed but there was a bent push rod and a valve was damaged so hard to say exactly what entirely happened. My understanding is it's usually catastrophic when the dod fails such as a lifter failing but I have heard of engines burning more oil and lower compression in the dod cylinders.
