Yo, montana Millennial Man, I am not sure, but is there be any chance of a galvanic reaction between the stray electricity in that system plus the copper/stainless connections plus any special issue with gylcol moving through that particular system??? It may be a completely ridiculous concern but I wonder if you might need an anode or something. One would hate to erode pipes and require replacement or worse yet, a 24/7 nagging concern for a system collapse without a warning.

Use a wetting agent. The same that you put in your wet sleeved tractors. It should help with the heat transference. It should be safe with your system many of the same materials used in both systems. (brass, aluminum, possibly steel or cast iron but may be stainless steel)

Beautiful work. Note from.a.65 year old grandma. My husband has a utility room full of well, infloor heat, water filters, etc. He got sick 2/years ago and spent 2 months in the hospital. We had water issues when he was in there. I WAS LOST. When he got well I made him make me an operating manual for all of it. Pictures and all. I now have a 75 page manual on how it all works in case he is not around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We redid our well, water heater and water conditioner this past year. We went with a tankless water heater since we already had a gas water heater it will replace. That old tank heater was 40 years old !!!! When we replaced the water conditioner, we also added a water filter. We have really hard water and there is a "smell" to our water. I also upgraded our sump pump that included a battery backup. It was not cheap to do all this, but now we should be set for 20 years (at least).

It makes sense on a sloped driveway (less for a flat), as the water will flow away into the drainage and you won't need any salt to keep it drivable and get to the (hopefully cleared) city roads. For him it would be a waste of resources and money...the slab is clear and 25 ft further you still need to drive through the deep snow...so there is 0 benefit in the heated slap. If he can't get out of the garage due to snow, he won't even get from his property (not to mention their property). They have vehicles around the corner to make the road drivable again.

When I was stationed in Alaska, the temp was -60 degrees. The floor heat, and only heat, in the hanger, which also heated the offices, failed. We brought in some gas powered heaters to keep the building from freezing. Base safety was concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning, and told us to shut off the heaters. We gave safety two choices. One, keep the heaters running and monitor the carbon monoxide, or two, shut down the heaters, let the building freeze, and the frozen pipes would be repaired in the spring. They left, and never came back.

Scott keep an eye on the fluid quality and metal parts for corrosion, in the PC market we find using copper with aluminum , steel or other dissimilar metals will cause what's known as bi-metal electrolysis, this starts slow but as one metal begins to dissolve into the cooling fluid it will speed up causing deposits to form and clog the system. Granted anti-freeze has anti-corrosion properties those chemicals merely slow the process. So like any cooling system and home HVAC units it's a good idea to do a scheduled flush

I love that you did you own everything to keep price down. I did my own heater through a A coil in old furnace and infloor heat in a new shop 1984. I live where firewood as very easy to get . Drive out and fill a 8 ft box in a couple hrs. . I built an out side wood burner . It heated the water pump for house and and another shop. It was a crazy system. Hot water tank had a copper pipe with enter pipe that flowed through 3 inch pipe. Crazy plumbing. Best part. I had 3 temperature gauges. In a closet. Water temp outlet at wood burner. Water temp return from shop. Water temp at entering house. There was no internet or google. I had many reworks of system. Love how nice and clean your system is. I had a lot of valves in my system everything build so I could by pass problem s. Same as yours. You have a lot more

If the radiant tubes are within 10% length of each other, you shouldn't need to balance them. While pumping fluid in, never let it suck air in or you'll have to keep pumping until the air is out. Don't see one, but you might want a condensate neutralized before the sump pit. Condensate is acidic and may corrode the pump . a couple mechanics in training there. Good luck

I love your setup. I built a 7500 square foot home outside Seattle about 20+ years ago and since the temp rarely drops below 35 degrees and I had a 6 inch slab in the basement I tied the system to my potable water supply. I didn't need to use antifreeze, but I did need to put in backflow preventers though. I also put temperature gauges on every return so I could fine tune each run. I had 7 zones and each zone had up to 4 runs to acommodate different rooms in the basement. I found that with heat rising as it does, I did not need to run the heating radiator in the heat pump system very much. I was also able to use the same boiler for the radiant heat and the heat exchanger in the heat pump. I also put the cold air return in the highest point in the house which was my office ceiling on the 2nd floor which was about 14 feet above the actual floor. I did also install a seperate air conditioner (a mini-split) just for my office. For hot water, I had several Takagi tankless heaters located throughout the house near bathrooms, the kitchen, etc. The back wall was 92 feet long so if I had not done that the furthest bathroom would have taken too long to receive hot water. I have the same reservations about PEX so everything I did that was exposed was in copper with sweated joints. I did cheat and used 3/4 inch copper flex to connect the Takagi tanlkess heaters and the boiler for easy changeout. All in all I love your system and wish some of the stuff was available 20 years ago.

After that You will have always study pressure of glycol and lower maintenance = more time for family .

That’s the best diy install I’ve seen..The only thing that worries me is schedule 40 for flue pipe exhausts and using dwv fittings instead of pvc pressure fittings… flues need to meet local codes if you have them… or be done in the safest way possible. Also be very careful near ethylene glycol vs propylene glycol.
