You are right in saying that every song is a banger. This was a truly perfect album. Fire, just fire. Kai is a perfectionist and it shows in his music and dance.
My bias is Baek in EXO but I like Kai's albums more. All of his tracks are beautiful and they are always on repeat on my playlist and I always play his CD in our house
So far, Kai's albums have been masterpieces to me. He's really good at choosing songs and concepts for his solo albums. No one is doing it like him. He's really expressing his true self as an artist, in all aspects. I can't wait for KJI3, I hope he can release something before his military enlistment next year. 😊
My favorite solo album of course my ultimate bias KAI NOTHING ON ME is my favorite song of this track please watch "ELDORADO" live performance next 🥰🥰😍😍😍
Very solid album. This film came out before the album dropped. So proud of him for a first solo joint. He definitely showed a different side of him, and I love jamming to the whole album when cleaning house or cooking...love it. 💙🌺
Finally!!! Thank you. You're right, all bops. Peaches album is again, bops. Hope you can do an album listen too for both albums. You'll never go wrong.
Wow! I can't believe you're just reacting to Film: Kai! I was sure you'd already reacted to it.. The album is perfect from start to finish, many surprises compared to what's shown in the Film. The film actually has a storyline: it's the cycle which Kai came through as an artist - first, he's alone dreaming, planning his future on stage, then he's performing but nobody pays attention to him, when he falls to the ground - it symbolizes the hardships he had to overcome and as his clothes will never be as white and perfect, so he will never be the same after fails and problems. In the end he's performing in the center with 8 other men in the inner circle - Kai's position in EXO - centre and there are 9 of them in total. The very end suggests that the cycle actually repeats itself before every time on stage. Kai's solo debut is not just the standard, he surpassed even the highest expectations, all his haters started to hate him more 🤣 for being so creative, having honey vocals, immaculate taste in music, art and fashion, and obviously gorgeous! The Film is the first ever in kpop and the second ever in the world. Kai put his own money into the solo debut to make it perfect, to make all his artistic ideas come to life, the budget SME gave him wasn't enough. Kai is all about art, his passion for self expression and giving his fans the best possible quality in everything is unmatched!
Both of Kai's albums are a NO-SKIP! You should check them out! There are performances for his other songs as well. Yes I vividly remember when this dropped before the album showing my friends trying to figure out what could be my fav 😍 the entire album is amazing! I think my top 3 are Amnesia Hello Stranger and MMMH...maybe.
Yes, this came out before the full album dropped. The point was to give us a little taste of this masterpiece. Every member who has released their mini solo projects have done it. It has become their thing. Thanks for another reaction, waiting for the next 🧡🧡🧡
That this album didn't smash all the rewards is a crime. It is perfection. Kai was so heavily involved, he really should have got more official recognition for the vision, the hard work and the final pieces. Yep, perfection in album form.
Kai's "Film: Kai," as you discovered, is a sort of teaser/sample of all the songs on Kai's solo self-titled debut album Kai. Yes, this video was meant to get people excited about the album and to boost presales and album sales. People hear a sample of all of the songs and then say, "now I have to check out the full album," etc. Fun fact: Highlight medelies for SM artist's solo albums first became a thing with SHINee's Taemin's "Press It highlight melody" video in 2016, which was a video showing Taemin performing a snippet of every song on his Press It album. (Like everything SHINee does, Taemin was the first to promote his album giving people a sample of every song on the album, kicking off a trend.) You could also say it's similar to NCT's track videos that they have been releasing with their albums more recently. Kai had a hand in writing and composing all of these songs and he spent more than a year working on the album, which he did all while also promoting nonstop as a member of EXO and SuperM. He actually put his own money into this project to increase the budget in order to make sure the quality met his expectations. The mini album contains 6 tracks and, as you just heard, each song is expertly designed to reflect Kai's style as an artist. There is only an MV for "Mmmh," the rest of these songs are B-side tracks so they don't have MVs. That is why you don't see any performance for "Mmmh" because they want you to watch the MV. If you want to see and hear the full versions of some of these other songs, you should look up some of his live performances. As part of his promotions for his album he has also performed several of these songs, such as "Mmmh", "Reason" and "Ride or Die," live. And as you have seen, he also has dance practice videos for "Reason" and "Mmmh". To understand what is happening in this video, you have to keep in mind EXO's concept. As you know, Kai's EXO superpower is teleportation, so what you see in some of the scenes in this video, is him teleporting. If you analyse all the scenes within Kai's film you would find connections can be made to EXO's storyline and things to do with past EXO MVs and probably even future MVs, as well as SuperM's storyline. For example, the scenes during Kai's "Amnesia" snippet and as it transitions to "Mmmh" are probably part of SM's train theme which connects a majority of its artists to the whole SM Universe. The train we see Kai standing in front of could possibly be the train that Baekhyun is on in his solo "Bambi" MV. And the subway train platform we see during "Mmmh" could be connected to SuperM's "100" MV storyline, SHINee's "Don't Call Me" MV storyline, aespa's "Black Mamba" MV storyline, and SHINee Key's solo debut "One of Those Nights" MV storyline, as well as EXO's "Love Me Right" MV storyline and EXO-CBX's "Horololo" MV storyline, etc. Plus, as part of EXO's story, it is thought that the members are traveling between dimensions and time periods throughout history in their quest to find the Tree of Life and to fix all the evil and corruption that is thought to be caused by the Red Force. So, similar to his "Mmmh" MV, it is thought that what you see in this video is Kai traveling between dimensions and across time periods in his search for the other members and the Tree of Life, etc. That is why you see him in so many different locations and scenes in this film. There is also a fan theory that the reason why we see Kai with so many different looks and styles in these scenes is because it's not always Kai that we are seeing. As you know, another part of EXO's storyline is that some of the members have evil alter ego clones that have been created by the Red Force, which were introduced in EXO's "Obsession" MV. So, some theories think that sometimes we are seeing Kai's evil X-EXO clone and other times we are seeing superhero, good EXO Kai. Also notice how the lights during "Ride or Die" made EXO's Hexagon symbol. As you can see, EXO's and SM's Universe is extremely complicated and complex, and even the most expert of fans, has trouble following the storyline. The thing is, none of us really know exactly what is happening in the story, it's all just fan theories and educated guesses. SM has never confirmed or denied any of our theories and they have left it completely up to fans to figure out what is happening and to create the story. (We only hope that someday SM will release the book or make a movie that will explain the whole story, so we will know whether any part of our theories were correct.)
As a latecomer kpop fan I was blessed to stumble upon EXO first and never looked back. Although Baekhyun is pretty much the one that hooked me from day one, Kai Nothin on Me and Ride or Die were the first two songs to make it on my non kpop playlists before becoming a complete kpop convert.
Is actually a pretty amazing album and so far it sit in my 3rd favourite exo solo albums, only after 1) Chen's April and a flower and 2) BaekHyun's Bambi. You should check their solo albums and in general all exo's and exo's subunits b sides are masterpieces. Only Obsession, Monster and Mama are titles tracks in my favourite list all the rest are always B-sides.
love the reaction! you nEED to react to lit by lay he's a rapper from exo too. he produced the song, directed the video and even wrote the lyrics ! you'll love it and it will shock you, it's an amazing MV
