Man i so appreciate you guys...such a great way to enjoy my morning train ride to work....DJ is FRUSTRATING..i am a dj supporter or was a supporter 😂..the thinking vs being free comment I think is so true and makes so much sense...but your film breakdown cements we are almost there, solid QB away i feel...8 more games to go!!
Thanks for (even if somewhat begrudgingly) giving DJ credit where it was due. Him playing really well apart from a handful of snaps made this game even more frustrating me. We really should have won. I do have a special place in my heart for bad officiating. Two things: I would have loved to see the breakdown of the uncalled Nabers PI (JPJr pulled Nabers‘ arm sleeve all the way to his wrist, that’s what he grabbed, Nick) and some mention of how many hits Jones was taking early in the game. I think he did a great job of being on time and delivering while being hit. He wasn’t sacked once in the first half, which was mindblowing to me given the opponent and Hubbert’s play. Those instances where HE made the line look better didn’t get credited enough, imo. Overall, this would have been an encouraging game a couple of years ago and yes, I totally get the frustrations, but let me enjoy our QB play really well for large parts of the game and showing a handful of really impressive throws (which we don’t get to see too often, unfortunately). This is not meant to be on you guys, I think you have been as fair as you can be given how much you’re frustrated yourself, but I take a lot of issue with how our fanbase is handling this season. I love to watch stuff (especially your breakdowns) on our team during the week, but the overwhelming amount of hate within our fanbase online has made this unbearable for large parts of this season. So thanks for giving me something that’s fun to watch although it’s been another disappointing Sun(Mon)day. And to reiterate again: As a fan from overseas who‘s been following this team for the whole Jones era, I’ve been at times questioning myself why I’ve hitched my wagon to a team that appears to have its 5th wasted season in 6 years, while I could have picked literally any of the 31 other teams (well, 30, who would want to be a Jets fan?). Yet, I still can’t help myself but to root for our team. I guess that’s the beauty of sports fandom. But man, it’s not even been the teams performance that has weighted me down the most, but the overwhelming amount of hatred in our fanbase online. As I said, I get it. The past 10 years have been incredibly rough on the people who love this team. But they need to keep themselves in check. Large chunks of the online discourse on this team is unwatchable/unreadable and it’s making it really tough for new-ish fans like me to want to be apart of this fanbase. Maybe that’s my version of a Dan-rant, and I’m sorry, but I just had to get this of my chest. You guys are one of, if not the best source for (largely) unbiased, intelligent discussions on this team, and I would love for it to be a save heaven for fans who don’t want to engage in all the hatred and disdain. We are all feeling the same pain on gamedays. We don’t have to make it even worse for each other during the week. So yeah, thanks guys! We might sometimes have disagreements, but I’m still a big fan of your show. You’ve got my gratitude for doing this even though it’s tough during these trying times. Take care!
Those illegal shifts are on the QB. He just has to wait a fraction of a second longer to call for the snap. These are things that Eli would do all the time. So often it wasn't noticed. But good QBs are in command of the LOS and Jones isn't. He has to notice the running back move and the same time Nabers is in motion and just wait until they are both stopped to call for the snap. Great show as always guys.
Great breakdown. You were a bit more bullish than I was about the performance. After watching the game I sold my tickets to Munich because I think it won’t be fun football whether they win or lose. Jones did OK in this game, but were at a point where we get excited when he manages to do something once that other QBs do routinely as part of doing their job. The guy has toughness for sure but…
I saw a Tweet by "SummerSports" which compared RBs Explosive run rate vs Negative rush rate. Tracy is better this year than Barkley in both categories - especially with reduced negative rushes. Good use of draft capital and cap savings by Schoen.
I saw an interesting statistic earlier today and I actually had to research it for myself because I couldn’t even fathom the idea that it could be true. I was wrong. It was true. Daniel Jones has played in 70 games in the NFL and has not thrown a touchdown pass in 28 of them. 40%! FORTY PERCENT!
Maybe they're purposely not putting Neal out there because they believe he's likely to get DJ hurt, and thus trigger his injury clause. Bench Jones, start Neal is probably the plan, eventually (...I hope 🥺)
I like Dan and his energy and his passion for the team but he just doesn’t know ball like he thinks he does and his hatred for DJ clouds his judgment even tho he swears up and down it doesn’t . Most of the time his rants are just emotional not actual analysis . I’ve had a hard time keeping my thoughts off the screen these past few weeks with all the fans and wannabe GMs and coaches and content creators coming out to give their opinions
@@prodbybrowni3e238 Total bullshit, actually. Go listen back, the rants involve me discussing him not throwing with anticipation often enough, or missing targets, or not managing pockets. Never about him as a person. And Bwalsh couldn't be further off here. No one is saying he's never thrown with anticipation. I am not. I can see with my own two eyes it's happened sometimes. I am saying it doesn't happen enough. Nick actually says the same thing which shows some bias in how you two interpret the analysis.
This just shows your bias @bwash50463 because no one has ever said he's NEVER thrown with anticipation. Both Nick and I have said the same thing that it doesn't happen enough. The fact that you heard that and thought "he's saying it's never happened" shows your bias. If he never did it, he wouldn't even be in the NFL.
It's only an opinion, but... Banks quits on plays. Quits on being physical. He has the talent, but doesn't have the mental fortitude to keep going play after play. Jones doesn't quit. Jones is... Incompetent for lack of a better way to describe him. However; he doesn't quit. He's just not very good. It's like he has to go through a check list on every play and then second guesses himself at some point in the process (or forgets a step). But he hasn't quit on the team. That's where Banks and Jones differ. Right now we need a better quarterback. Unfortunately he's not on the team this year. All we can do is either keep watching Jones sink or watch 2 other quarterbacks that will make other mistakes 🤦♂️🤷♂️. So Daboll chooses to stay with the devil he knows 😞
The fact that Neal is constantly being overlooked by the coaching staff, tells us that he’s not good at all. He is a complete miss. They see him at practice every day and still don’t want him to play. BUST!
He not good in NY yes DJ good tools but he doesn't know how to put it together and win games but his allergic to winning I don't know I just saying! Explain it to me please am I wrong!
1st off Dan , you don’t slide the tight end. Linemen slide. You shift the TE. Soooo we want the TE to shift and leave the Lt that struggled all game right. Ppl want to blame dj so bad that they forget that the rt is supposed to be the strongest or best lineman out there. Dj was responsible for the bad throw on 86 and the int.
There’s lots a criticism of Schoen & Daboll, much of it valid. But this year’s draft class seems to be a good one: Rd 1: Nabers ✅ Rd 2: Nubin ✅ Rd 3: Philips ✅ Rd 4: Johnson ✅ Rd 5: Tracy ✅ Nabers was a no-brainer in Rd 1, but they could have panicked and picked one of the lesser QBs after the top 3 were gone. Rounds 2 through 4 all seem to be working out very well. Philips and Tracy in particular stand out.
