Good summary of Ridder. For those of us watching him every game this year - who are not Ridder fan boys - he has some problems he hasn’t corrected that are leading to the bad ‘5 plays’ per game: No touch on short or most long passes; Pocket panic; indecision leading to quick decisions, or early runs; and, inability to spot open receivers too much of the time. I would bet on the Saints in the play-offs personally.

As a falcons fan who had high hopes for Ridder but was also Skeptical I agree 100%

Facts he’s definitely had some glimpses of being a quality quarterback but the turnovers and his completion percentage don’t make it easier to like him as the long term qb. Also coaching is an issue but the coaches ain’t the ones on the field getting the turnovers

I get so much hate for saying these exact same things about Ridder. Used to be a supporter but he's not the future guy. I don't see the improvement, just the same mistakes

Here is how bad this break down is of the first play Ridder threw the ball where your arrow is indicating 😂, cause that is how the play is designed.did you ever think Bijan ran the route wrong he leaked up field instead of going straight like your arrow pointed out(started the route on the 5 and within 3 steps was at the 2) How about we start breaking down just how inexperience our “play makers” are when it comes to in game situations…. I could name a bunch of time where we blame Ridder but it was actually the Receivers fault

This has honestly been the story of the offenses season. People that don't have a keen eye for football hone in on the QB 9/10 times because that's all they know.

The throw to London you thought was a good was, as is way too often the case with Ridder, a pass thrown into tight coverage. London wins his share of those, true, but the risk-reward ratio is too high. Turnovers are game changers. We need to get receivers and/or schemes that regularly produce separation. We have not been able to do that all season.
@Kelvinbjr
@Kelvinbjr 5 месяцев назад
That first play is just so hard to put on him for me. I think Ridder sees the way Bijan is running but as he lets the ball go, Bijan's direction changes slightly and then he tries to correct his running direction to catch the ball... if any of that makes sense. It's just a missed opportunity by both players.
@GB81369
@GB81369 5 месяцев назад
I personally don’t think Bijan knew the ball was in the air to even track it
@Kelvinbjr
@Kelvinbjr 5 месяцев назад
@@GB81369 I believe that too. On a lot of our plays, the players don't execute with a sense of urgency. He should have been been looking back for the ball immediately.

The first play Bijan needs to flatten his route when they practiced that I bet Ridder passed it to the same spot and Bijan was slightly off on that one.
@Kingjugey88

Thank you! Bijan has to get flat there. Ridder is throwing it where bijan is suppose to be at.
@zoeboy82
@zoeboy82 5 месяцев назад
Exactly, how was Ridder supposed to deliver an accurate pass where Bijan was, with the defender in the throwing lane and pressuring? Why is that defender unblocked when there’s someone just standing there?
@MumRah

Ridder had a problem all throughout college of not being able to hit wide open guys to his right. Maybe he could be good if he didn't have the QB Destroyer Dave Rangone as his QB coach and Arthur Smith as his HC/OC

We should draft a QB to compete with Ridder , worst case scenario he is a great backup QB. Arthur Smith might gotta go!
@techwood16

Yes, this draft has atleast 5 good Qb’s that doesn’t happen every year we have too many weapons and we’re in a weak division. All we need is a capable QB

The option was definitely was a read. You can tell by the line. They pass the line of scrimmage but it good he turn a bad decision into a good play
@moosedawgatlantaproductions
@moosedawgatlantaproductions 5 месяцев назад
Coach Smiff is the real problem. The backups are always heavily guarded and Ridder isn’t allowed to pass to a wide open Pitts, London, or Robinson.
@bendoverbichiminspleen

My issue with the safety is we are down 3 starters on the line and inside our 10. Why call a pass play when you know you back is to your goal line. We supposedly have one of the best rushing attacks and refuse to use it in the right situations consider Vita vea was out for this game.
@typdavis
@typdavis 5 месяцев назад
That wasn’t a bad play call. The bad play was Ridder going backwards 10 yards before he started looking for the receiver. He has to have situational awareness where he stops at the 1/2 yard line instead of 2-4 yards inside the end zone.

I think Ridder's problem is he's not NFL ready. You see the flashes of good. It just worries me that turn over prone players often can't shake it. I doubt the falcons make the playoffs. Essentially two games Tampa. If the falcons go 4-0, Tampa only needs to go 2-2.

First, the Falcons need a better offensive line. Ridder is under too much pressure. Second, the Falcons should use more double tight end sets. Third, Bill Belichick would be a good addition to the franchise. You're welcome.

Atl I see will trade for JF. Bears will take a 2024 2nd and 2025 1st for starters and we can trade later round picks and players with each other if need be.

Luckily Ridder is young. There’s a learning curve that he’s going through. You can definitely see progress though. I think he has the intangibles to continue to learn and become a really good qb. I wish people didn’t grade on the same scale as a 5 year vet.

I don't think atlanta wants to make the play off. They know for a fact that they can't beat any of the other playoff teams. Better draft situation They might be looking at.

You need a better QB coach and playcaller...AS is horrible !! He's got to go... waste of talent. You are set up to be a superior run team, and yet you keep putting unnecessary pressure on your young QB. The other problem is that you have too many RB's... you can't get into a rhythm because they only get a couple of carries, and that's it. You have forgotten the beast that you used like a workhorse last year !! Not one damn time have I seen this dufuss use a jumbo package on the goaliine !! Your identity is to play Smash mouth, run it down your throat... good job, Arthur.

That London throw was not a great throw. It was a “fu%* it” throw. He had two defenders within 3 yards, the ball was thrown short instead of being able to get it in stride where London would have maybe been 1 on 1 instead of 2 on 1. And it took an acrobatic grab to get it from a 6’5 receiver. Thats a bad throw tooo.

Ridder has below average arm strength. Sideline throws lack zip. Same thing holding back qbs like Minshew, Heinecke, etc. He can/is improving, but likely isnt long term starter bc of it
