@Swastik Ghosh I wasn't talking about the whole UP of BIHAR. In fact, I've never even been there. I was referring to my city, Lucknow. We are famous for our 'nawabi' tongue 😁

@Swastik Ghosh bro I would say it's the influence of mainly two things. The awadhi culture (born in awadh a.k.a. Lucknow) and Mughal culture from Delhi and then from various areas UP and Bihar. The correct terminology would be 'mai'; something that would be translated as 'ami' in Bengali. Using 'hum' instead of 'mai' was something limited to nobles only (nawabs and Mughals). But as the dynasty collapsed, the culture somewhat dispersed in the neighbouring areas of Bihar and UP. In Lucknow (my city) even the beggars use 'hum' instead of 'mai'. The real catalyst here was the food which has been loved by men and women of all sectors ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dear Archit, you first need to know that U.P. is not a small piece of land. Also, please learn to differentiate between Western UP and Eastern UP (This will help you with 'HUM' wala part). Besides, Uttar Pradesh is a whole new world of multi-ethnic, religious, and cultural groups. There are multiple languages so don't stereotype the languages spoken. P.S. I'm from UP and never in my life have I talked to myself in the third person (Even though acha sa sound karta hai :p)

It has nothing to do with any sort of disrespect for all the ppl belonging to UP. And Using 'hum/aap' is not only limited to UP, it's very much prevalent in Some parts of Bihar as well.
