Finally someone who restores like I do. Take it apart and scrub it in water and soap. Drives me nut these people who use 400 q-tips and spray the out side with chemicals. doesn't really get it clean like that. This does.
I was gone get the ps5 and saw a ps1 slim on a flea market for 45 and bought it.I don't care what ppl said.I never get bored with ps1 games like I do with ps4 games
man i tried this and now my cds wont spin, scared i messed up the ribbon cable when removing it, was really tough to get out, now my childhood psone is broken. I should've never done this
Just pull the ribbon cable again but don’t pull it harder, maybe that’s why you messed up the ribbon cable. Gently pull the ribbon cable clean the ribbon cable with Isopropyl alcohol. Now reconnect your laser, Gently put the ribbon cable on the board and connecter and it should work perfectly. Test your PS1 game and it should work. If still doesn’t work, then buy and replace the laser.
Note: Always clean the laser circle gently using a q-tip with 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, then turn your q-tip back to the dryer cotton q-tip and dry your laser circle. It should work fine.
@@martin.aguilar.a i didnt clean the lense but it was reading fine before hand, ive already cleaned and reconnected the ribbon cable, i think i messed up the port or ribbon.
Don’t stress man, everything is fixable. If it’s not spinning it’s probably either the motor or the door switch. Absolute worst case you can source a new motor
Thank you! Honestly I started because I was collecting consoles and a lot were dirty and damaged so I decided to give it a go cleaning and fixing them, and it ended up being not too bad. Then I realised people enjoy watching that so I decided to film it and see how it went haha
