Thank ls for sharing this. I love videos like these. I wonder how these get so rusty. I bought a few parts, and im cleaning them up and trying to fix them.
Hey my remote turns on for a second and turns off for a while, whats the fix? Also This is a old dirty remote i cleaned for the entire day and wetted and dryed all the parts expect for Electric parts. Also there is like tabaco on the remote but i removed most of it, and all of it on the bord
Mine kept powering down randomly without warning or messages. Tried to take apart to see if it's dust...screws were impossible to remove, used a pair of pliers. It came apart, in a few pieces, no dust inside, i guess it was the mo0therboard...in the trash it goes lol.
PS3’s are prone to cold solder joints that can cause power issues like not turning on, or power cycling, so maybe that’s the issue? It’s more common on ps3 fats but still. I’ve fixed one before by simply using a heat gun over the processor chips for a while, then allowing to cool and reassemble. Could be something to try if it hasn’t already made its way to the bin haha
@@TheBygoneEra No idea, it worked fine, i didn't use it for about a year, and then this happened. The inside was clean as can be, no burn marks anywhere, no dust at all, solder looked pristine all over the motherboard and power supply. Bought a slim for 30$, working great so far!
This is exactly what my estate sale typewriter is like. Thanks for the video! And thank you to the others who commented with helpful knowledge. When I have some time I'll attempt to tackle it. 😅
Only thing with my 2 ps 2 is they tend to glitch and freeze wiyh certain games......then again the games are old af😂😂😂same with the console...but works fine otherwise
little trick to remove that sticker residue. hit it with some WD40, let is soak and move it around a little. then wipe it away and then clean off the WD40 with some rubbing alcohol.
@@TheBygoneEra Hey I done it! I cleaned the buttons out and the board with IPA and the buttons work fine now. Only slight annoying thing is one of the case screws won't screw in all the way but at least I can play it now
Good work on the GBA SP! Could’ve used this vid a few days ago when taking apart a AGS-101 SP… found out the hard way it’s a nightmare to get the screen reconnected haha
Hello! I have a PSP with a very similar issue. I’ve read online about the Pandora battery/MMS technique and am wondering if that could work. However, I’m afraid a potential issue with the PSP motherboard would mean the Pandora battery strategy would be ineffectual. What do you think?
I honestly don’t know a whole lot about pandora batteries, but for me this was an easier solution that was guaranteed to work haha. If you have a pandora battery it wouldn’t hurt to try, but unfortunately I don’t know enough about them to offer any more help. Best of luck!
Thanks for watching! It’s not as daunting as it seems, just as long as you take your time with it. If yours is overheating I’d say it needs a clean, and probably new thermal paste
@@TheBygoneEraNever mind I got 91% Isopropyl Alcohol but alright. Here’s two questions 1. How long it will dry? 2. Will the scan barcode will not remove after I wash and dry my back plastic plates and information of my PS2. For example, the back of PS2 slim you can see the model number and scan barcode. It will remove? I don’t want this to remove it.
