Fimi X8 Mini V2 - High Medium Normal Video mode comparison 

I agree! .. but did you notice any significant difference?

I have heard good reviews on the Atom (not the Mini). With the smaller 1/3 camera and only a 2.2 aperture opening, I am surprised at its performance. Having the same price point as the Fimi X8 Mini V2 it is a true contender for the budget sub 250g category for sure. Although I have had some difficulty in getting responses from their CS on some technical issues I had raised. Maybe if my 2nd X8 Mini does not arrive soon I will explore Potensic & Walkera further. Thanks for the reminder that there are other contenders out there.

After realising that when you are flying your little fimi that you are in a garage pointing another direction to your drone then I can only conclude that it's in no way a range issue at all as far me speaking of the little atom drone were iam standing and pointing towards it so there is no real comparison about range although others new to the v2 fimi are saying 500 meters and loss of signal in suburban setting but there not sitting in a garage pointing a different direction with controller... Iam sure you have seen the range capabilities on RU-vid channels were 4 5 6 7 kilometres have been reached... In that case the atom loses but a much more stable acting almost dji like drone... You have called your mini fimi a toy drone although you seem to love it...!!!??

@@user-it5qe2zn8f : Thanks again.. Yes.. I like the X8 Mini V2. Yes it does not have the best range. Yes it is not the most stable at low altitude hover. But I love the design. I love the USB-C. I love the Gimbal Cover. I love the availability of 3rd party accessories. I love the compactness. I love the battery options (Li-ion). I love the controller. I love the unfolding mechanism. About range.. That is so subjective and changes with the weather. If I were out over the valley at the bottom of the road, the X8 Mini V2 would get over 3km for sure. There I have gotten over 2km with the Mavic Mini. I would love to compare the Potensic. Many really like it. And it is an option in the Budget Video drone market of $300-$400 range. I just do not have the funds to buy one right now. I am not knocking the "Atom". Even Marcus has told me its an up and coming contender. The downsides for me are the 1/3" sensor, the f2.2 and the Li-Po battery. Not to worry though.. I am sure Potensic are hard at work on the "Atom Pro2". 😀👍

Yes.. all X8 Mini batteries will fit. I have videos of all of them😃

It's a tough call I know... I guess whatever setting is default really does not matter. The differences are very minor if at all. Thanks

yes. But if you throw it in a bag and travel with it (the drone) the little extra support is nice.

Even on the big screen it was a tough call. Bright sunlight does cause some over saturation but look at the next video (Beyond the Red Line) it was overcast and the imagery is much better.

They have not address but one issue that I raised with Fimi about the X8 Mini V2. They fixed the alternate RTH from the main settings screen... everything else they kinda screwed up.

@@starhawke380 : The V1 was not bad. The V2 does have a slightly better camera but has the same issues otherwise. When Fimi came out with the X8 Pro instead of a newly designed flagship.. I said.. "That's it".. no more Fimi for me until something proven comes along. They also have no outside testing anymore.. so all sales are "Blind" concepts.

Its too bad, because I really want another option than DJI that doesnt have the performance issues that Fimi and Hubsan both have...@@GorillamansGarage

Nope.

I only recorded in 1080p. I rarely do 4k as it is of little value unless showing landscape or specifics. Also it take sso much time to render and over 95% of viewers do not have or use 4k to watch RU-vid regularly. I do have some 4k content but mainly the videos are tutorial in nature. The point here is that yes.. there is a technical difference between Normal, Medium & High on the video setting but it is not really noticeable. But most would opt for using the High setting anyway.
