I finial get the rifle apart and after looking at the bore it is a total piece of junk if you would like to support my channel use one of the links below paypal.me/pools/c/8rf8aLKqVS you can email me at koba49@yahoo.com
These guns were bottom of the barrel when Africa received them. Remember these weapon were neither manufactured nor refurbished in Africa. Whites in Europe and America tend to down play anything that non- European or associate/ orgin. Yet every resource worth having come from out side Europe . European only known commodity is war and conflict. Fact
Nice old rifle. Btw I went in Sportsman's Warehouse yesterday and they had a large selection of guns but not so much on ammo. They had 1 box of .40 s&w which I left for some poor soul and a pretty good bit of 5.56. Also some oddball shit like .224, 6mm and some other large rifle calibers. Could be worse though. I think it's getting better slowly but surely God willing
You could reline the barrel, but by then you would have a ton of money into it, and you would probably never get it back. I have to say, I do appreciate you making these videos, you are honest in your assessment. Most of us work pretty hard for our money, it is a shame to just give it away. Thanks for doing what you do!
I hope the berthier grade A matching i ordered is ok. I also got a carcano rifle and m95 rifle. Im just praying the bores ok. its one thing to replace a couple parts but Im never gonna re-barrel it.
I got burned by Classic Firearms on a "Banner" Mauser that was had a barrel that was completely trashed. I paid around $450 for that gun then put another $400 into it rebarreling to .308, headspace gauges and renting a reamer. Never again!
I wonder if they give ppl the worse ones when theyre on sale. I heard a lot of ppl say their rifles were trash after ordering them when theyre on sale.
Where is all the outrage about RTI? It seems like every video posted that exposes them gets taken down. Or the comments are filled with “shouldn’t have bought online” How about protecting the consumers and punishing bad business practices like selling sewer pipes for 400+ dollars
I bought the Ethiopian cut down version of the 88/90 from RTI, the bore is decent because 6 inches of the barrel got whacked off... For the original configuration I got about 5 inches of destroyed rifling similar to yours and a chewed up crown. I see why these things got chopped down.
the first 4 to 6 inches of the bore from the muzzle are completely damaged to where there is NO VISIBLE RIFLING so lapping or any other ideas will not work
Damn, and I just snagged a true 88 (non updated sights and a good bore) for 300 with a bulgarian contract bayonet. If you're ever in the market for a true Mannlicher 88, just let me know ;)
