Girl I did not know you were here in the Triangle! I’m in Durham but it’s been very helpful and inspiring watching your videos. There aren’t many videos on here of people taking us on their interviews and decisions and all the emotions that come with it. I plan to apply next cycle so this is helpful more than you know, if you’re ever open to talking (don’t know how much time you’ll have as a 1st year med student lol) but I’d appreciate it ❤ congratulations on everything and all your success to come! May God continue to bless you and keep you on this journey to the white coat 👩🏾⚕️
Ahh! Thank you. Yes, I’m in the RTP. It’s so nice to see someone near by watching. I promise I’ll find the time to help you during that time regardless. I know how isolating and mentally taxing the cycle is and if I can help even a little, I’m down! I’m sure you’ll be successful on your cycle but good luck in advance!!
Congratulations!! 🎉 Morehouse is an excellent medical school!! You are going to thrive there! Congrats on the 5K as well. To get faster, you need to build endurance. To get endurance, you need to slow way, way down and aim for covering more distance in a longer time. By slowing down, you get faster! ❤ Congratulations again, so excited for you!! 🎉
Thank you so much for the support. And omg. By slowing down, what do you mean? A slower pace for a longer period of time? Should I stop worrying about time right now?
So glad you chose Morehouse! The support you will receive will make your journey memorable and enjoyable. I wish I didn’t have to deal with micro aggressions in addition to the stress from school
Thank you. 🫶🏾 What’s crazy is I considered that in my decision because my fellowship exposed me to so many macro and micro aggressions. I didn’t want to deal with that in medical school and I’m so sorry you’re dealing with that. I’m sending you love from here. 🤎 you got this.
Congrats on your decision! That's one thing I noticed when I went for an interview in Morehouse! They are so supportive and the tight-knit community!! I know you will do so well 🥳😊
@@ShaVaughn I applied this last cycle like yourself! It was my first interview in the beginning of fall. But I was waitlisted a month later. So, I'm still waiting on that decision. But, I'm happy to receive an acceptance to an MD school a week ago!
@@SeanOchiagha I truly hate the timeline of applications! But I’m happy you’ll be a doctor. 🫶🏾 Goodluck on your endeavors. Morehouse will likely still pull from the waitlist even into early June!
Congrats! I’m applying next cycle and am taking my first (and hopefully last) try on the MCAT next month! I also recently ran my first 5K since high school, and I think I might pick that up as a hobby after this MCAT grind 😅
Thanks! The MCAT will be a one and done for you. I’m speaking it into existence! Also, running is so fun. I think you should pick it back up after your first and last MCAT. 😌
Bro tell me why, I pulled up one of your older videos, and you used to have a intro with Roddy rich in it 💀💀💀 Also, love ya, and like I told you, be happy, and cry about that. And be excited and grateful, and speak about that. Be thankful, and live that. 🥳 That girl got her literal whole body in the door, and she gon be a doctor 👩🏾⚕️
Hi! Thanks for the support! 🤎 I’m honestly debating because there’s already a lot of great videos about it and I don’t want to oversaturate. But if I think I can offer a different perspective later on, I’ll definitely do it!
I pretty much did everything at the same time lol. Very rushed. You should do it before submitting application tbh and just refine it as time goes. But, I used MSAR and it primarily helped me find schools that were in the locations I was open to and the school’s demographics. After creating a list on MSAR, I researched each school for their mission and curriculum to see if it matched mine and applied to those that did. Stats are also shown on MSAR so you can factor that in if you’d like!
Hey girl! I love your content I am currently in the process of applying for the 25' cycle and I would love to have your template for how you compare your schools on Google Docs.
Thank you. 🤎 I can create a blank template of it and share it with you! Could you drop your gmail? Also, good luck on the cycle. Please, please, please prioritize your mental health during. 🫶🏾
Hi! Thank you for the support. Not sharing stats is a boundary of mine! I don’t like aiding in the anxiety that made my experience with the MCAT depressing. BUT, I do not mind sharing resources! Khan Academy, AAMC prep material and full length exams, Jackwestin for CARS and their flashcards, and UWorld. I also used RU-vid videos to cover content gaps I needed understanding over. Those are the recourses I used and I think they will help anyone get the score they need/want. Lastly, stats are important but they are not a guarantee! Make sure you prioritize your personal statement and activities section! Good luck on your application. You got this!
Thank you so much for your respond! Did you use the questions as content review ? Or did you have a dedicated content review session first? I’m trying to figure out what’s the best thing to do at the moment. Also how long did you study for the exam? And how long do you recommend?
@@EliRoberts-w2p I forgot to add khan academy omg!!!! That’s what I used to do content review. But sometimes their videos were confusing so I’d source different videos on RU-vid. After your initial content review, the questions should def be reviewed and seen as a way to figure out content gaps!
Thank you! Lastly would you recommend a time for studying for the exam? How many months did it take you? Can I email you with any other questions I may have
