Photon Theorist Dont get me wrong, Lightning returns is in my top 3 favourite FF games and I think the time limit is great. I just find the backwardsness of it funny

@@Aoskar95 Never do time travel either. I have yet to see anyone do it right. 13-2 came close, though.

13 Crystals Radiant Historia has a good take on it. The time travel has little regard for causality, but the rules are clearly defined and mostly consistent.

Both 6 WOR and lightning returns the world is the worst it's been which is why it's called world of ruin but I beg to differ about everyone dying. Yes people did die in both sure but that's the fate of humans. We grow then we die when it's our time but both parties survive to the better world. After getting rid of Kefka and bhenevelze the world's go back to healthy... (13 it's a new world entirely but that's details XD) both games are amazing for what they are ^.^

@@jadecrystal2486 13, the world literally explodes and the Anubis kill everyone xd plus everyone reincarnates and can barely remember their time in the past world. 6 was my first ff and LR my last and both are great

I also noticed her added eye liner and some eye shadow in this game.

I remember that my first playthrough was just so rough, barely pulled through it. New Game+ made everything so much better though. Finally got my hands on the accessories I needed to make the whole immune to physical and immune to magic damage schemata. That really changed how I played my third playthrough, only times I ever took damage was through ranged stuff I wasn't quick enough to change for.

Huh that actually makes the game sound... fun. Kinda wish it was just the default way to play but I can see the value in the re-playabillity aspect.

I'm going with Velvet. Her 3D model actually blushes when she does it and she has more characters to remind her of it throughout the game (mostly Magilou though).

I think Light, mainly because she doesn't do cute things very often, so I find it adorable.

@@13crystals61 neither does Velvet... She's possibly one of the darker main characters. in fact, in one cutscene near end-game, she looks truly terrifying.

Arin Jäger yes Lightning means Éclair in french but her name in the English version is simply Claire, not Éclair.

You'll be hard-pressed to find many people who disagree, kinda sad TBH.

@@13crystals61 i just liked the gameplay, i mean, my favorite rpg is dragon's dogma, all it has is an interesting philosophical dilemma at the end for my 15 year old me when i played it and some mid to low tier writing in missions and shit, i love the game for the gameplay itself and the ending of it, story is problematic when the game tries to sell you on the story part first then gameplay even if the gameplay is better because it will end up bittersweet, an example of something similar to this is watchdogs, they where like "yo look at this cool hacking shit going on" when they should have made ads of it showing it was combat wise literally an unofficial john wick game with a side of hacking, which made the reception of the game (critics wise) awful, it was so bad the company even changed the logo (that and all the missing shit like the entierty of new york, online customization, the online part in general that was chopped off, some hacks and shit but you get the point, if you build up something and you don't provide, shit is going to be bad for your game critic wise and even commercially if unlucky enough).

I think the game is pretty outstanding, but the small number of cutscenes is definitely one of the ways in which the games substantially smaller budget is made apparent.

That was my favorite battle track in this game so I I'm also slightly sad too.

a chicken that can magically transform into a "beautiful human lady" (her words)... I loathe her character so much! The most annoying thing ever (she's hot, tho', but the chocobo outfit's just weird)

if you're gonna bother with the steam ports look up the mods first. seriously, some fixes are necessary.

I felt the same as you, man. From nostalgia I bought the combo pack from Steam and put in 50+ hours to FFXIII. When I tried to play XIII-2, I was completely burnt out and couldn't enjoy it (specifically since the battle system is essentially the same minus a pet). Of you're on the fence about buying it again, maybe consider just watching review/replay videos like this :)

The game was crushing me early on. If you soldier through you can start exploiting more and it gets a lot easier, but I think the developers actually intended people to get a game over and finish on NG+

What are you talking about. I love the time they make saving his son the main way to get him In the plot three times. It's not like they could try do anything else with him. Like getting him to talk with vanillie or the other characters.

13-2 was considered worse? I heard otherwise. Either way, if you thought that the other two were even worth playing, then you will like LR. Most people actually think it's the best of the three.

Just for the combat alone I would play this game until the heat death of the universe.

I used a trainer program to let me just freeze time indefinitely in-game the first time I actually did a full playthrough of it. Yeah, it was cheating or whatever, but it helped my anxiety a lot and after beating it the first time and realizing just how much time the game really gives, it was fairly easy to do a second playthrough with the timer running normally.

The one I used is called "Wemod" and I recommend it if the timer makes you anxious but you feel like trying this game out again. I do feel like it's worth it.

it would feel nice to be normal for a while :o a nice break, but would have to look for a new adventure weather it be traveling the world or whateever with tools at the disposal
