I feel you man, this game wrecked me. And for me Aerith indeed was my favourite character. She had something magical around her, right from the beginning when I met her in Midgar. And the interactions with her were always so much fun. She really filled the party with life imo.
Fr. I really didn't feel anything when she sang that song in Loveless but man when the ending plays that song..im a broken man. I wish I used her in my party more 😭😭😭
@@heyimredd I liked it in loveless, but in the credits it's absolutely brutal. Also them playing her theme in the last Jenova fight was a sting to the heart. If you didn't have the Aerith date in the Gold Saucer, I highly recommend you watch loveless and her date. The story gets even more emotional with those details.
Oh no wonder it felt familiar! That's her theme playing fighting Jenova! Ohh man thats even more brutal. Definitely will check it out the date again. I got tifa last time.
I finished the game last week and still can't get over her death... although I do think Aerith is alive on the other timeline. My hope is that Cloud could bring her back and connect the timeline where she and Zack is alive. Zack can finally return to Gongaga and reunite with his parents and Cissnei.
Yeah I don't know what they'll do with part 3, but at minimum they're keeping the dream alive from the original game, which for YEARS had people thinking you could save Aerith in some way. Showing Cloud 'block' Sephiroth, after having Marlene say "Cloud needs to be strong enough to save Aerith" is pretty heavily a clue that we may be able to save her in the final game. But I'm not sure if they'll do that...
Whenever you see that rainbow with the white light effect, just note that another workd or timeline is created. Remember the rainbow white light in the scene where Zack is in the train tunnek, he choses to find a cure for Cloud so as he rides towards the right tunnel the rainbow light appears. This shows that another world has veen created by the choice of Zack and the characters' have been cloned, so basically another version of the same Zack that was in the motorcycle is cloned and this Zack went after Biggs in the reacotr and you can see the bag of chip that Biggs has. The stamp that is shown on the bag was to show that its another timekine from Cloud's workd and Zack's world. If you look closely during Aerith's death and stabbing you can see that short rainbow light showing as Cloud parries Sephiroth's sword, creating another timeline and world where he really saved Aerith, but what we see here is another world trying to connect or trying to emerge with the world we are in or the world where we are playing as Cloud. This explains that Cloud can see Aerith dead and alive at the same time kinda like a ghost. When Zack helped defeated Sephiroth reborn he was returned to his world, but it's a different world probably a world without that yellow rift in the sky. Remember that Zack's world already has accepted its fate for the meteor or something else to destroy the world, so Zack gets send back to ine of his own timeline so if Im correct there's honna be 2 Zack Fair's roaming around together like Genesis copies from Crisis Core/REUNION
The trilogy is LITERALLY a sequel to advent children: from the first game you can clearly tell that Aerith and Sephiroth knew what was going to happen in the future and by challenging fate multiple timelines were created so there’s a chance to see Aerith back in the third game in fact she’s alive in Zack’s timeline.
idk man, we already know there's only 1 scene that show her hands trying to reach Cloud's hand after the final battle against Sephiroth. If she isn't available during the game and only appear at the final chapter then i won't buy the game.
@@12MYCRYL17 nah not that kinda hardcore fan, i have other stuff to do and many great games to play. I just love a few character in ff7 so i bought this game
Absolutely. I think that is where it is really tough. And on Cloud, to see what they do for part 3. I'm really really hoping for a happy send off for Cloud and Aerith.
From what the previous chapters showed, Cloud saved Aerith causing a split in the timeline BUT Cloud only sees the 'saved' timeline and not the 'death' timeline that the others experienced. This could be due to a number of reasons but nothings concrete. It is likely Aerith is now 'seperated' from the group by said alternate timeline with no guarantee said timeline will not be destroyed or she will be able to return. In a way it's still a kind of a sad ending.
No, Cloud wasn’t able to save her. It’s his mind playing tricks, Cloud is not in peace when he see her his head shocked this even from the OG always means he isn’t right. In fact I think that some Aerith’s aren’t her, but Jenova manipulated Cloud. This last Aerith I almost sure she is not Aerith. Aerith say goodbye after the battle with Sephiroth ended. As well as Sleeping forest Aerith is not her. Cloud looks crazy when he talk to her. So probably it’s Jenova playing tricks. True Aerith is the final ghost that can’t interact not even with Cloud but Jenova is messing with even us the players.
From what I got, Cloud is still in the world where Aerith has died but he can see the other world where he saved her and now it's like it's overlapping in his mind. Pretty much Cloud's mind is even more messed up lol
I finished the original FF7 when it first came out. I was so pissed at Sephiroth for killing Aerith at the end of disc 1. I was so sad and mad, I stared at the "Please insert disc 2 screen" for an hour. I had to get revenge for Aerith. The remakes really flesh out Cloud's mental illness though. In the original, Cloud's mental state is more cut and dry. Cloud never became a Soldier. He was just a grunt trooper that became friends with Zack and looked up to him. He was ashamed of not fulfilling his dream to be a Soldier, he didn't reveal himself to Tifa. However the Nibelheim tragedy made Cloud so angry, he stood up to Sephiroth, but was cut down. Cloud and Zack were experimented on by Hojo and that's how Cloud got Jenova cells. They escape to Midgar, but Zack is killed protecting Cloud. Cloud has so much grief of being weak and never making it to Soldier, he adopts Zack's persona and starts believing Zack's experiences are his. Cloud sort of has imposter syndrome. It gets sorted out with Tifa's help. It's why Aerith told Cloud during their Skywheel date "I'm trying to find you" meaning the real Cloud, not the Cloud pretending to be Zack.
@@heyimredd I know you posted this a week ago but if you want to actually know you can search for the secret Zack ending video from OG or just play Crisis Core (not sure if you played that one or not). The devs rereleased that game recently because they actually want you to know Cloud's secret now because they are doing some slightly different things with it anyway. They get within a hairs breadth of outright telling you the real truth in this game as it is. That all said if you can avoid knowing what is going on for the next 3 years or so when we hopefully get game 3 for the 30th anniversary then maybe that is what you do.
What happened to Cloud is he was weak his entire life and at every pivotal moment where someone needed to make a difference, someone else stepped up because he couldn't. For example, he tried to save Tifa when they were kids on Mt.Nibelheim but got to her too late and they both fell, thus Tifa falling into a coma for many weeks/days/months. When Nibelheim was burning, he wanted to help people get out but he couldn't because he was defeated/beaten/exhausted and could do nothing but lie on the ground while Tifa's master, Zangan(?) ran around helping people. Then Tifa and Zack got injured and basically killed in Mt.Nibelheim facing Sephiroth and that's when Cloud finally had enough of people getting hurt. So he charged in and stabbed Sephiroth in the back. This didn't stop him. Cloud tried to finish the job but Sephiroth casually stabbed him through the chest. But instead of keeling over and dying, he grabbed the sword, picked up Sephiroth and through him into the life-stream (which is why Sephiroth ended up in the Northern Crater). Later, Shinra arrived, assessed the damage and discovered that Zack and Cloud were still alive. Hojo, figuring they were powerful enough to stop Sephiroth (his son), wanted to experiment on them. The experiments didn't take with Zack. But they did with Cloud, this greatly enhanced his strength making him stronger (in potential) than a 1st Class Soldier. Not only was he bathed in Mako like they were but he was artifically enhanced by Jenova's Cells. Unfortunately, this also broke his brain. So those Jenova Cell's rebuilt it while he was unconscious and floating in Hojo's test tubes. Jenova fused his real memories with things that he'd seen throughout his life---specifically toward someone he greatly admired, Zack. This erased Zack from his memory, essentially because he thought all the things that Zack did, were things he (Cloud) did. When Zack died, Cloud wandered into Midgar (because Zack mentioned they should become mercenaries) and collapsed at the train-station completely broken and comatose. That's when Tifa found him and recognized him. Once she did, all his memories fused together and he became the Cloud that was imitating Zack and thinking he was Zack, combined with his old memories of his childhood. That's why Crisis Core ends with him glancing up while on the train saying "My name is Cloud, Soldier 1st Class" while it speeds toward the reactor and the start of FF7. Throughout the entire game, Tifa KNOWS something is wrong with him but she's afraid to confront him because she thinks it might destroy him. That is, until she helps him reorganize his memories in the Life-Stream. Hope that helps. But just to further answer your question, Cloud's brain is BEYOND scrambled at this point. He's barely functioning. Because not only is his brain scrambled but the reunion is calling him which is making him do things he normally wouldn't. For example, in the original game, he nearly kills Aerith at the altar, he also beats the shit out of her after the Temple of Ancients when they retrieve the Black Materia. He's also seeing Sephiroth everywhere in the original too, but it's Jenova fooling him and Sephiroth's will spreading across the planet from the Northern Crater. He's waiting for the Black Materia and manipulating Cloud to get it to him so he can summon Meteor and transform into a god (Safer Sephiroth). Let me know if you have any other questions!
i'm gonna be honest if zack of all people seems to have a bigger role to play in part 3 aerith will most definitely play a big part in part 3 regardless of what your theories are regarding what happened to her. she's one of the most important characters of this whole story and the devs themselves reinforced her importance to this trilogy back in remake, there's no way she'll just be "dead and buried" in part 3. even if she ends up dying in the end of the trilogy she will most likely have a big role to pay in the final part, at least in my opinion.
I totally feel you... I started crying right after I saw her lying on the floor and I couldn't stop long after the end credits rolled. Every time I see the scene of Tiny Bronko flying away, tears come to my eyes...
I just beat it yesterday too and now I can enjoy theses videos with worrying about spoilers! I have mix feelings about the end but I can't wait for the last part!
I have to watch these to reassure myself im not just getting emotional. I'm just happy to know this is just that damn sad. Also, I think Tifa sees it now too cause she (fell) into the lifestream.
Square accomplished the impossible making us believe we can save Aerith and hoping she will comeback.. (we became as delusional as cloud at the end of the game) believe me i was there also.. now where the story goes we have to wait 3-4 years till then Jenova and Sephiroth lives free in my mind
It didnt dawn on me that Aerith was talking to Red 13 back in Junon when Cloud was somewhat eavesdropping in on them at the door. At the time I didnt catch or paid much attention to it until now when you were mentioning how Red could sense Aerith. They have a special relationship those two - longer than Aerith has with any of the party member. It's sweet how Red called out her name - that made me teary eyed too and a confirmation she really did pass on into the lifestream. Oh yeah, that was the Final Fantasy Theme song Cid was humming while fixing the plane. Haha. Love those easter egg drops by SE. I agree, the Loveless song hits better at the end when everything is said and done. Can't wait for P3 to finish off this series and I know it'll be a great ending.
there actually is 4 timelines being shown in the end. we are shown 4 different dog mascots. and it seams zack is moving through them, or were seeing different zacks in different timelines.
I counted 6, I think Zak woke up either in Rebirth timeline or the new timeline Cloud created after defying fate and saving aerith. Before Sephiroth undone that in this timeline.
It’s best you play the OG now because to answer your question would give away the entire twist of the series. So either wait 4 years to know the truth about cloud or spend 35 hours on the OG game to appreciate the remake.
Because this is not the original, it won't follow the exact same path, it is a sequel trilogy, so there will be a lot of changes, no one knows how it will end in the final part of the story.
Thank you for showing your reactions. I like your thoughts around 4:40 "unless this is the original timeline". I think yes, we created a new timeline here since we went against fate. I think Aerith is dead in all but 1 now. But one is enought!
Gonna be honest, Part 3 is going to start off right away with answering whats going on with Cloud and Tifa if it's like the Original game, and it's one of the biggest twists in gaming next to Aeriths death so I'm not sure if you actually want to know. Read on if you really have to but I suggest waiting . . . . Cloud joined Soldier but flunked out, he was such a failure they didn't even give him a number on his arm, he was just some trash grunt that went under a new 'test' from hojo that left him mako poisoned. Zack was kidnapped and augmented into a SOLDIER and was a total success. Upon breaking out due to a fluke he saves Clouds life and drags him out of the lab determined to get him to Midgar to see a doctor and hide out with Aerith. Just before he reaches Midgar though a random patrol finds him and Cloud and they mercilessly gun him down and shoot him in the head (later remakes glorify it as a whole platoon but original it was just 3 guys). Cloud in his severely poisoned state drags his corpse over to the buster sword and his mind fully smashes to pieces breaking as he starts thinking he's Zack, the actual Soldier. He inherits a lot of his memories and becomes the Cloud we've seen for 2 games now. A big part of Part 3 will focus early on about finding out who Cloud **really** is as a person, and Tifa having to comfront her own delusions about him
They didn't add the 'psychosis thing' - they just have better representations of it due to graphics. Cloud is messed up in the OG as well. It's the big plot point of part 3.
Cloud is suffering from degradation from the soldier program. But I also think he has one foot in two timelines which is why he sees events from both, sort of like how sephiroth does. I believe aerith can too and she’s jumping timelines like him.
Damn I literally played this game hoping Aerith will stay alive unlike the OG I played 27 years ago. But I got the bad feeling after Cloud and Aerith conversation at the church. I interpreted it as a goodbye from Aerith and a hint they will never be together. God damn Square Enix, making Aerith so lovable in this whole game just to kill her off in the end and wreck my heart.
Can someone send me a time stamp to where she says, i saw what you did for me thank you, cuz i could have sworn she said that when i played it, but i didnt see it hear or did i miss it? Or is or does it only happen if you press l2 and r2?
Yeah, I'm not going to put money it'll be in less than 4 years, but they already have so much of the world created. They'll need to add Wutai, Rocket Town and flesh out the Northlands but that's still half the regions they did for Rebirth, so even if they make them bigger (unlikely, I expect similar size as Rebirth regions but we will revisit older regions) there's far less they need to make. I'd still bet it'll be 3 years, though. Guess we'll see if there's any DLC to eat up development time (they said no story DLC but think there could still be some DLC)
It took me 2 days to get over the ending, Square Enix was bold as hell . Tifa is bae ,but seeing Aerith die again , especially after we thought we saved her ...got me lol
The only theory i have right now is that cloud didnt stop aeriths death...but idk somehow stopped him from severing her connection from the planet??... idk im running on it wirh rainbow stuff going on.... it follows her into your fight against sephiroth with her at the end...its all I got
That part confuses me as well since she died and all. All i can think off is that the one who helped us is an alternate aeritth? Idk. Hopefully im wrong
New timelin: cloud saves aerith, aerith fakes her death to trick sephiroth, the alive aerith goes into the OG timeline to help cloud fight sephiroth then disappears back into her own timeline lying on the floor, cloud then goes back and says “Aerith wake up” because he was in on it. I’m wondering if the cloud that fought with aerith against sephiroth may also have been a more knowledgeable cloud because the way they hold hands after that fight seems like cloud and aerith are like lifelong couple. Also he tells sephiroth his words won’t work on him anymore. All I know is the producers focused more on the OG timeline where aerith is dead because they need an emotional ending and to keep people guessing for part 3. She was never buried in either timeline because she is still alive. Also no limit break great gospel.
I'm honestly trying to understand the ending, it's so muddy. but I'm going off Tifa, yuffie, and barret's reactions, which makes me believe that aerith is dead. Cloud's mind (or seeing an alternative of her) is so messed up it's hard to understand the ending.
Yes, part of Cloud since the original was he is an unreliable narrator. Basically if you're seeing something from Cloud's POV, entirely disregard it for anything other than understanding Cloud.
basically cloud saved aerith and then the whispers undid everything in the sense of reverting aerith back to being killed. after that when we fight sephiroth in phase 5 aerith joins us from the lifestream. after all that she is dead however. Aerith and cloud have a magical connection. so in death she can reach out to him and communicate to him. cloud has to give sephiroth the black materia by infusing it into sephiroths physical body which is in a crystalized mako shell in the crater up north. cloud isnt hallucinating he is seeing her spirit because she is reaching out to him through the life stream.
There are 2 timelines. “Aerith wake up” proves it. That part is not part of the dead Aerith timeline, you can tell that is not ghost Aerith or cloud hallucinating. That is Aerith faking her death to trick sephiroth in the new timeline. The producers focus more on the original timeline however because if they didn’t have an Aerith death scene the hardcore OG fans would be in an uproar. So he gave the new fans and the OG fans what they want. They did not include the burial scene cause she is still alive in the other timeline. Also why they didn’t include her last limit break. The producers already said they will do a happy ending this time. Aerith and Zack will be alive at the end of part 3 and they can still tie into advent children with the whole portal between worlds crap
cloud saved her, however she manages the white whispers and the white whispers reversed it and she died. however reason cloud can see her is because of his connection with aerith. she can communicate to cloud through the lifestream.
She’s alive in another timeline as Seph explained when things change new timelines are created and we see Aerith in the floor because both alive and dead Aerith where converging when Seph was trying to unite the worlds. She is alive in some timeline but dead in Clouds and the rest.
There's no other timeline here. It's just Cloud couldn't accept Aerith's death that he began denying everything, just like how he did it when Zack died. This ending pretty much set up even more for when he faced the truth about himself in the next game.
@@heyimredd Not exactly hallucinate, Aerith does exist as a ghost like in the OG and Advent Children. However there are subtle hints pointing to him created a reality in his head where Aerith survived. In other words, Cloud is more fked up than in the OG cuz now he outright refused to accept her death.
Boggles my mind how many people could have saved Aerith if they didn’t misread the queue to pull the sword down (y would they make a qte to slowly swing a sword at Aerith lol..) same people that choose the second menu option (99% take nothing but the first) instead of the first and get thrown back a couple hours.
I mean..could you blame them? (And me) i thought for certain they wanted cloud to do it seeing how he was unhinged at the temple being all uncaring and all. I was certain sephiroth got hold of him
what i dont get is that when he tells her to wake up none of the other crew members are there but before he kneels down everyones there, Square Enix is fkin with out heads, they dont want us to know whats going on. Yeah we know cloud made more fake memories but theres more going on here
I love all the characters so much, cloud, cid and tifa being my favs... (OG Cid) the whole time I was like CLOUD HUG TIFA SHE LOST HER BFF... I just wanted someone to hug her damitt.
The Aerith that is in the ending isnt real she's just a figment of Cloud's melted brain. Kinda like his coping mechanism to Aeriths death, he involuntarily believed that he saved her and she's alive.
Cloud is not that crazy. We all saw cloud save Aerith. Then it switched to the OG timeline where she is dead. The alive aerith is the one that crosses over to help cloud in the OG timeline fight Sephiroth which is why he said he underestimated her. She then disappears back into the new timeline created when cloud saved her. She even told cloud I saw what you did back there. Cloud then tells her to wake up in the new timeline and that is all we see of the new timeline because it cuts back to the original timeline where Aerith is a lifestream ghost. Og timeline is now not the main timeline anymore because of what cloud did that’s why cloud can now see the rip in the sky in the OG timeline. Just watch the rainbows to separate the timelines also watch when cloud is holding aerith and tells her to wake up the rest of the party are looking lower than where cloud and aerith are.
@KanePersonal Yeah, it's nice to see the emotion still hitting. And I think that's because this is even longer than the original game, and with the voice acting and more personal quests you spend a LOT of time getting to know a character.
@@heyimredd he staggers enemies the fastest and I ain’t mad at that. Same with Aerith people don’t use her at all and get pissed at the end when you have to like ff has always divided party in these remakes to let you know USE your party 😂
