After having beaten the game myself last night, I can say this was an amazing experience. I love final bosses that are 1v1 (or 1v2 in this case, reminded me of KH2) with normal characters. The giant monsters are cool, but there's something about a person who looks just like us who holds the power of a deity in their being that we are able to take down. And I know there are some people who complain about the ending *cough IGN cough*, but given the fact that this is a REMAKE and not a remaster means we are experiencing new ideas and possibilities as opposed to just doing the same thing over again. So many people complain about "oh Hollywood is out of original ideas they just give us the same thing over and over" but then a game like this comes along that while being a Remake also tries new things within that mold, and then people complain about "oh why did they change this why did they do that?" as if they wanted the exact same thing over and over again. Also, the ending might seem a little confusing right now, but that's because we have yet to reach the conclusion with Part 3 (also people keep blaming Nomura for the things they don't like when he didn't even write these two games). The story isn't over, nor is it going to be the exact same as the original. And to me, that's fine. Let the creators play with unique and new ideas. Let people come up with stories they want to tell in a certain mold in new ways. It's better than just getting the same thing over and over again and claiming that it's a remake when it's really a remaster.
Well said. If you want the EXACT original then play that . Think Square did a perfect job keeping the spirit of the original but these changes make it new and exciting too
No one can lie this fight is absolutely satisfying and sephiroth is just amazing. Who wouldn't want this. But what made me sad was that scene where cloud admits his love for Aerith isn't there (sorry i meant when he tells sephiroth he has feelings for Aerith) and when cait sith tells aerith that cloud and her are soul mates .
Rebirth is the second game of a trilogy. It goes from Remake > Rebirth > Untitled 3rd Game They'll probably reveal the third game a couple years from now.
@@BarretTheImmaculate Isn't this the original ending of Disc 1 we're reaching by the end of full game 2? I don't think they mean early in terms of total story, I think early by comparison to the rest of the game itself.
I think both have their pros and cons. The one in Remake felt like it was a big moment breaking away from fate and the Whispers, while this one felt like we were fighting against the world itself to determine the fate of Aerith. Remake had a bit wider range of enemies that weren't specifically Sephiroth, but Rebirth played up the tension with where it happened as well as the implications it may or may not have in Game 3. I do kinda wish we got a full party for the final boss, but for what it is, I think it works in both games.
