i love the how even though its a boss fight, the game never hesitates to flesh out Reno and Rude's personalities and friendship. Rude never hits Tifa like he would do to Barret and Cloud. Reno looks devastated while picking Rude's glasses. Its small details like that that made hands down the Turks the most human and likeable "vilains"
@@MALZEL-19F Rude does this a lot. When fighting Aeris, he just wails on Cloud - But he only tries to karate-chop her on the back of her neck to knock her unconscious.
That look of sadness on Reno's face at 7:28 when he thought that Rude died in the helicopter crash. Then the look of relief and smirk at 7:31 when he sees that Rude survived was well done too
Wasn't expecting to see Cait Sith this early. I like his new design. Poor guy... Can't imagine witnessing something like that and feeling responsible for it.
@@crimsoncarson7763 I am hoping somewhere Cait Sith throws a couple of dices and depending on what he rolls it either helps the team or not, bit if it gets a 7 than it deals the most damage to your opponent.
Jacob Foxall what could the name of his unique ability be called u know the command mapped to triangle that’s next to the commands attack and commands itself
I agree, the boss fight is so good, once Rude is on the ground is when the boss fight gets interesting and the difficulty is hard as Reno hits hard and is fast. Rude hits hard and is a freaking power house. The acting is so on par. The music is so sad representing Avalanche's death and how Avalanche are on the last of their legs: Barret, Cloud, and Tifa. The characters you use, you can tell they're are exhausted from fighting Shinra and is what made the fight win for me.
Fighting them both felt personal. The hatred and aggression towards each other was phenomenal. And beating the hell out of them on my first try never felt so satisfying. That summon demon saved our asses.
On TOP of him being my favorite character, they had to make my man Rude look better than everyone else. Cloud and them look good and all, but Rude looks borderline real at times... His character model looks so much better graphically than everyone else’s, and you can thank the realistic ass character design for that. I’d be convinced if you told me he was modeled after a real-life person. And another reason being that everybody out there having perfect skin ironically makes Rude, his beard, and his actual skin complexion look better than everyone else 😭
I would prefer him being an original model, not modelled after real life actor. That would make him unique, one of a kind. In fact, I prefer any video game characters to be original models, coz video games are not movie. In movies, we hire real life actors coz it makes sense for the performance that requires a lot of emotions. Thus, video games should have original characters coz it makes much more sense in them, and much more imaginative too. Not to mention we have the technology to do that. Wouldn't it be more fun to play a character created straight up from imagination? From something that didn't exist before? That is why, character customization in video games are fun to control, coz subconsciously we desire for something original.
I NEVER EXPLICITLY SAID RUDE WAS MODELED AFTER A REAL LIFE PERSON LOL Just that I’d be convinced IF you told me he was I feel like this whole thread didn’t need to happen, it isn’t even about the same subject I touched on 💀
That’s probably because Rude is a regular looking dude, a sharp dressed tall bald guy. Instead of a blonde anime haired Tight ass tank top wearing beautiful mercenary with a giant sword on his back
ill never be able to look at reno the same way again after hearing about the passing of his voice actor whom also voiced axel from kingdom hearts............... he wont be forgotten as we all got him memorized
Can we take a moment to appreciate how Reno actually looked a bit sad when he thought Rude had died from the explosion? Then looked immediately cheered up the moment he realized Rude was fine behind him.
@@КонстантинПаршуков-о6б I'm hoping its dlc for the final game I mean imagine advent children but cloud is actually good and with even more badass fights
@@КонстантинПаршуков-о6б Yeah me too. If you think about it though this is when they are at their peak. AC was a long time after and even the main characters said they aren’t as strong as they used to be, except Cloud. I just thought about that as I was agreeing with you lol
Not gonna lie, every other boss fight except for Sephy has nowhere near the same feeling as this. Reno and Rude was a full out war compared to everything else. You can just feel the hatred in this and after Wedge, Biggs and Jessie, there is no greater feeling than taking on these guys, especially with these stakes.
finally some one talk about there limet break thanks i come to this video just to see it they did not use it on me the first time i fight them do u know when they use it ?
@@DanTheMan33088 fortunately i survived cuz i remembered that rude's weakness is aereo, in the end i was able to stagger him and i also had chocobo and moogle summoned which is wind based summon to help, it was such an onslaught in the end
The Turks really showed you how much they mean business and how serious they are about their jobs with that mission. Even thought they might regret what has to be done they gon go throught it like professionals gotta respect them for that.
Being that the turks are gonna have a bigger role to play in this remake, I feel that it would be appropriate if Square Enix made Reno and Rude guest allies (like Red XIII) during the boss fight against Don Corneo's Rapps in Wutai. It'd be more diverse and would be something for us to grow on for these two characters, haha.
Not only that, I can imagine Reno, Rude and Rufus, together with a bunch of Shinra Soldiers, joining the fight against Jenova on the ship, while she pokes holes in it.
@@danielledaniel1900 Tseng should be a boss battle in this game. I'm very surprised he wasn't one in the original. That New Threat mod did make him into a boss battle where he simply replaced Rude in Rocket Town when you take the rocket back from Shinra. Square Enix should probably do that for this! Get some nice inspiration from the New Threat mod and give those dedicated creators the praise they deserve :)
Not for me tho, after what happened to Jessie and Biggs, I wish to destroy these bastards all along. I don't care that Reno and Rude are amazing characters, they are. But for this part, they pisses me off.
Yeah at least in the Remake they make it a point to have Cloud pretty much always kick the shit out of the Turks in every encounter and them just barely getting away in some cases him actually trying to kill them until someone interferes. In the original, they pretty much just casually stroll away after every fight and give you the impression they're always just toying with you.
So glad they included rude for this fight, when i first done this fight, at the start reno's hp was dropping so fast, for a 3 vs 1 fight it was too easy, then when the chopper got taken down things heated up and the fight felt more balanced
Remember how Aerith said Rude wasn't a bad guy? Well he was the one who pressed the button, releasing the platform and killing hundreds of people below. Can't just casually overlook the fact he did that.
@Fire House Tseng says in a later cutscene that someone else would have dropped the plate anyways. Reno and Rude honestly gave an immense amount of time for the sector 7 slum-dwellers to escape.
@@CC-xb6hp They are doing their jobs. Something tells me that you can't just walk away when you sign up to be a Turk. Shinra own you. What they did is wrong, but they are certainly not happy about it. Also if they didn't someone else would. It's not all black and white.
@@evantill7395 Exactly this. They didn't need to fight at all. Reno had all the time in the world to press that button when Cloud challenged him to. They stalled by fighting the gang to allow as much time as possible for people to evacuate while still being professionals on doing their job they were ordered to do, even if they don't like it.
This fight was so chaotic I seriously have no idea how I ended up winning. I was so busy looking at my health that I didn't even realize how little they had left when you fought them at the same time.
Actually, he may attack her in the original but only if she's the last one standing and has a 60% chance of skipping his turn and say "..." instead of attacking.
a big portion of the game can be done like that on normal mode by switching characters and keep the damage coming but hard mode is a different story I dare you do that against the hell house on hard
@@DDjermm Thanks for bringing me back here lol... Playing on hard mode now and can't wait to get to this bit. Hopefully I die a few times so I can keep listening haha but It'd be nice without all the combat noise... Let me know if you find the track name :D
@@Baz87100 I don't know where you found this, but THANK YOU! You're every bit as much of a Godsend as the poster cuz I could not find this song ANYWHERE
tbh a greedy or a really self aware corporate would add that feature it's like having a self destruct on an airship or something, so when everything goes south they can use that feature to end it before it gets worse for example, when your airship gets controlled by an enemy, instead of having the enemy to have further control over the airship you could just self destruct it so same as this plate seperation thing which i know it is actually stupid, but it actually could be true irl we dont know
It's all a part of the Neo Midgar plan. Dropping the plate means they also can afford to shutdown the reactor of that sector. Because of the shutdown, they can increase the Mako fuel in the other reactors. Increasing the fuel means they can increase the Taxrate of Mako. And because Avalanche and Wutai took the blame, Shinra appears as the heroes to the public that citizens will not object to paying more money for Mako. With Wutai and Avalanche taking the blame, public morale rises as they seem as the aggressors while Shinra provides protection to the public. It's all calculated from the beginning. Mind you, this is the same company that had the miner town Corel build up a reactor, promising the people better money, job opportunities and life circumstances only to murder every single citizen afterwards to silence them from any POSSIBLE knowledge they may have acquired.
Had a rough time with these two. Cloud was downed at the end of the fight. Wish I had known these two were vulnerable to sleep and poison. Then again, I should've known.
Just noticed something, remember when Marlene hugged arieth? After words, arieth put her index finger in front of her mouth. Not that long afterwords, tseng does the exact same thing on the terminal monitor right before the plate collapse. There is something underlying here that I can't figure out. What do you guys think?
I do think the only reason Reno and Rude lose this fight is because they don't realise they are fighting a Sephiroth clone with enhanced fighting skills. Tifa and Barret would have lost here without Cloud...
Holy, the fight itself and the cutscene after it is VERY movie worthy. They even slipped more personality to Reno and Rude about their relations together. Though, I'm not sure I like how the game using the... mysterious ghosts to cover Rude's mad dash. I feel like it's reasonable to make the party tired enough to get knocked aside by him or something. I can see him getting away from barret by throwing him from his gun arm, jumps over Cloud, and does a short fight with Tifa, his position making it impossible for barret to take a shot. Nitpicks aside, this is probably the most lively, and dramatic fights I've seen from the game yet~
Well... If SE's intention for the Remake is to alter the possibilities of the timeline so that... certain characters' fates are different, then I think using the Arbiters of Fate to progress the story in this matter is reasonable. It keeps the plot consistent while also providing an explanation for why things are different this time around. What's more, it also makes sense given that the player won that battle. Both Reno and Rude were beaten; without some kind of outside aid they had no chance of defeating the trio anymore. I'm one of those players who really, REALLY hates the "player wins in gameplay, loses anyway in a cutscene" approach that's becoming more common in games these days. So if the developer is to still allow the player to lose on occasion to build stakes or create drama for the purposes of the story, it has to be done via external factors that the player couldn't account for within the fight. In this scenario, assuming that the Arbiters weren't here, I'd have gone with the "confirmation was sent remotely from Shinra HQ via Tseng" approach. (Which, if you think about it, makes total sense. It would prevent some nutjob from just activating plate separation on the ground without somebody at HQ to confirm that, yes, we DO want to cause a crazy amount of damage and incur staggering financial losses.)
This fight was so messy...I used half a dozen Phoenix Downs near the end cuz Reno had a hardon for specifically targeting Cloud while Rude chased down whoever I was controlling. Fun fight, though.
Yep! Actually he did pretty good for not having materia. I kept using him to stun Reno because Reno kept flying around the darn ring with his insane speed.
What makes this fight much more better than the original version is that it actually feels like an all-out battle against the Turks. In the original version, it was basically: Attack, step back. Attack, step back. Rinse and repeat.
I noticed it too! There were a few little music moments throughout the game that sounded similar to FFX. I hope Nobuo Uematsu had fun remaking his old tunes :)
I can't help but feel that there is no redeeming Reno and Rude after this. I like them but they murdered thousands of innocents. Can't just let that slide.
Nah, this game makes me hate Rude more than anyone else...the moment we pushed the button, thats the moment it becomes personal...nevertheless, Rude is an excellent character in this game.
Jeeeeeebus, I REALLY need to get around to playing this eventually. This looks so bloody good, always loved the OG Reno & Rude. If there was ever a reason to make a full spin off anime series, they would be it.
So.... No ones gonna ask the question that boggles my mind. What is the zip line attached to at the end after the explosion? They were mid flight when it happened.
I played with subtitles turned off, so I couldn't understand what tseng or aerith was saying through the monitor so I had to come here and look it up lol.
whoever was playing made it harder on themselves. so many abilities and spells that wouldve helped but just skipped over it. Pray,steelskin,barrier...etc.. using other characters ATB to heal...
